00:00Every summer, the island of Sodor is very busy.
00:05Holidaymakers love to sightsee, and when the weather is fine, there is no better place to visit.
00:11Some people like to go to the mountains, others like the valleys.
00:15Children love the seaside.
00:19One morning, Thomas was puffing along the line that runs by the coast.
00:23His two coaches, Annie and Clarabel, were packed with children going to the beach.
00:28Everyone was happy.
00:34Percy was taking some trucks to the harbour.
00:37Hello, Thomas. You look cheerful. I wish I could take children today instead of trucks.
00:42They're the Vicar's Sunday School, explained Thomas.
00:45I'm busy this evening, but the stationmaster says I can ask you to take the children home.
00:51Of course I will, promised Percy.
00:55Later, Percy saw Harold.
00:58Sorry, Percy, can't talk. I'm on high alert.
01:02Why?
01:04Bad weather's due. My help's always needed. Mind how you go, Percy.
01:09Ah, of Percy. As long as I've got rails to run on, I can go anywhere, in any weather, anyhow.
01:15Goodbye. He set off for the beach.
01:19It was a beautiful day, but Edward was worried.
01:23Be careful, he warned. There's a storm coming.
01:26A promise is a promise, thought Percy, no matter what the weather.
01:34The children had a lovely day, but by tea time, dark clouds loomed ahead.
01:40Annie and Clarabel were glad when Percy arrived.
01:44Annie and Clarabel were glad when Percy arrived. He was just in time.
01:49Rain streamed down Percy's boiler.
01:52Oh, he shivered and thought of his nice dry shed.
02:06Percy struggled on past coastal villages and into the countryside.
02:14The river was rising fast.
02:21I wish I could see, I wish I could see, complained Percy, as he battled against the rain.
02:28More trouble lay ahead.
02:36Oh, hissed Percy, the water is sloshing by fire.
02:41Percy's driver and fireman had to find some more firewood.
02:45I'll have some of your floorboards, please, said the fireman to the guard.
02:49I only swept the floor this morning, grumbled the guard, but he still helped.
02:56Soon, Percy's fire was burning well. He felt warm and comfortable again.
03:02Then, he saw Harold.
03:05Oh dear, thought Percy, Harold's come to laugh at me.
03:10Suddenly, something thudded onto Percy's boiler.
03:14Ow, exclaimed Percy, he needn't throw things.
03:18It's a parachute, laughed his driver, Harold's dropping hot drinks for us.
03:24Thank you, Harold, whistled Percy.
03:27Good to be of service, replied Harold, and he buzzed away.
03:33The water lapped Percy's wheels.
03:39Percy was losing steam again, but he plunged bravely on.
03:47I promised, he panted, I promised.
03:51He made one more big effort, and at last, exhausted but triumphant, he brought the train home.
03:58Well done, Percy, cheered Thomas. You kept your promise despite everything.
04:05A fat controller arrived in Harold.
04:08First, he thanked the men, then Percy.
04:11Harold told me you were a, er, wizard.
04:14He says he can beat you at some things, but not at being a submarine.
04:17I don't know what you two get up to sometimes, but I do know that you're a really useful engine.
04:22Oh, sir, whispered Percy happily.
