00:00Percy's new friends. It was a busy day on the island of Sodor.
00:10All the engines huffed and puffed busily, except Percy.
00:17Percy wasn't busy at all, so he puffed perkily to Brendam Docks.
00:24Percy wheeshed and whooshed with a whistle and a whoop. He was very happy to see all his friends.
00:33Hello, Emily. Would you like to play with me?
00:38Hello, Percy. I'm far too busy to play. I have these crates to deliver.
00:45Emily rattled away, so Percy puffed on. He saw Salty. Percy whistled and whooshed loudly.
00:57Hello, Salty. Would you like to play with me?
01:01Hello, Percy. I'm sorry, I have to shunt these trucks. Busy day, busy day.
01:09Percy chuffed on. Then he saw his best friend, Thomas. Percy wheeshed and whooshed, he hooted and tooted.
01:20Hello, my best friend, Thomas. Can you play with me?
01:25I'm sorry, Percy. I have to take these tools to the quarry. I must huff and puff.
01:32Percy peeped sadly. All his friends had chuffed away busy. Then Percy saw Cranky the crane.
01:43Hello, Cranky. I haven't any friends to play with.
01:47Then Percy saw a seagull fly down. It perched on Cranky's crane arm. The seagull squawked. Cranky creaked a smile.
02:00Who's that, Cranky?
02:02This is my friend, Seagull.
02:05Suddenly, Percy peeped and puffed. An idea had popped into his pistons.
02:12I can make friends with animals too. Then I will have lots of friends to play with.
02:18Cranky cranked crankily.
02:20Do you know how to make friends with animals?
02:24Of course I do, Cranky. The same way I always make friends. I whoosh and I whoosh, I hoot and I toot as loudly as I possibly can.
02:35So with a whoosh and a whoosh, a hoot and a toot, Percy puffed off loudly to make some new friends. Cranky was cross.
02:47Not so loud, Percy. You scared Seagull.
02:51But Percy didn't hear. He had already huffed happily away.
02:57Percy puffed into the woods. He saw a rabbit.
03:03With a weesh and a whoosh and a hoot and a toot, Percy steamed towards the rabbit.
03:10Hello, Mr. Rabbit. Will you be my friend?
03:13The rabbit hopped and popped into the woods.
03:18Percy was puzzled.
03:21Perhaps Mr. Rabbit didn't hear me. Next time I must be even louder.
03:28So Percy puffed on through the woods. Then Percy saw two squirrels.
03:36With a weesh and a whoosh, a hoot and a toot, Percy raced towards the squirrels.
03:43Hello, squirrels. Would you like to be friends with me?
03:48The squirrels scurried and hurried up a tree. Percy was puzzled.
03:55The squirrels must be very busy. I shall have to find some other friends.
04:00And Percy puffed on out of the woods.
04:06Then Percy saw a bird.
04:10I'm sure Mr. Bird would like to be my friend.
04:14So with a weesh and a whoosh, a hoot and a toot, Percy rattled and raced towards the bird.
04:23Hello, Mr. Bird. I'm Percy. Would you like to be friends with me? Please!
04:32But with a squawk and a swoosh, the bird flew off down the track.
04:38Come back, Mr. Bird!
04:41But the bird didn't come back. He flew off high over the sparkling sea.
04:48But I can't follow you over the sea, Mr. Bird.
04:52Percy was sad.
04:55Mr. Bird doesn't want to be my friend. None of the animals want to be my friend.
05:02Just then, the tracks trembled and the air filled with a mighty roar.
05:10Bust my buffers!
05:13Out of my way! Express coming through!
05:18Percy rattled from funnel to footplate as Gordon thundered past.
05:26Percy opened his eyes. Thomas puffed up.
05:32Hello, Percy. You look scared. What happened?
05:37Gordon scared me.
05:39I'm sure Gordon didn't mean to, Percy.
05:43I know, Thomas. Gordon is a big engine and I'm little. Big noisy things can scare little quiet things.
05:51This made Percy think.
05:54The rabbit and the squirrels and the bird, they are much littler than me and they are quiet.
06:02Then an idea bubbled in Percy's boiler.
06:07I must go. Goodbye, Thomas.
06:13Percy puffed back the way he came and there, on the track, he saw Mr. Bird again.
06:22But this time, Percy gently applied his brakes. He chuffed as slowly and as quietly as he could.
06:32Hello, Mr. Bird. I'm very sorry I was so loud earlier. I didn't want to scare you.
06:39The bird looked at Percy. Then he flew up onto Percy's buffer.
06:46Do you want to go for a ride, little bird?
06:53Percy and Mr. Bird puffed gently on.
06:58Next, Percy saw the pair of squirrels. He gently applied his brakes and chuffed as slowly and as quietly as he could.
07:10Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Squirrel. I'm very sorry I was so loud earlier. I didn't want to scare you.
07:19The squirrels jumped up onto Percy's buffer.
07:24All aboard!
07:26And Percy, the two squirrels and Mr. Bird puffed quietly back through the woods.
07:34Then, Percy saw the rabbit. He chuffed up very quietly.
07:42Hello, Mr. Rabbit. I'm very sorry I was so loud earlier.
07:47Mr. Rabbit looked at Percy. Then he hopped up onto Percy's buffer, next to Mr. and Mrs. Squirrel.
07:57Hold tight, everyone!
08:01And Percy, Mr. Rabbit, the two squirrels and Mr. Bird puffed gently along the track.
08:11At Tidmouth, all the other engines were back in their sheds.
08:17Where is Percy? It's late!
08:22Quiet, everyone. Here I am.
08:26The other engines were surprised.
08:30Percy, who are all these animals?
08:33Percy's firebox fizzled with pride.
08:38Everyone, meet my new friends!
