Transcript
00:00 Good morning everybody, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press on Friday June the 7th,
00:04 just bringing you some headlines today. We have a couple of pieces this morning relating to the
00:10 upcoming general election. First of all, local democracy reporter Shannon has put together a
00:15 guide to each Doncaster constituency. There have been some boundary changes you may or may not be
00:21 aware so it's worth having a read of that and then you'll be able to see who your candidates are.
00:27 The official deadline for that is actually today so we'll bring you the full list of the candidates
00:31 as soon as we can get hold of it. Also relating to the general election, a report has come out
00:37 that's been put together by artificial intelligence, the bane of our lives at the moment actually,
00:42 and it claims that Labour is set for a clean sweep in Doncaster at the general election.
00:49 I'm not sure how it works that out but only time will tell if that's right or not.
00:56 Then something a bit more poignant for you, we've had a number of pictures and pieces of information
01:04 come in regarding marking the 80th anniversary of D-Day. There's a couple of bits already online,
01:12 there will be some more as the day goes on, the lighting of beacons and commemorative services,
01:21 that sort of thing, so you can have a look at those also today. And then good news for a local
01:27 firm, Donny Cabs, Doncaster taxi firm, is this month celebrating a year in business. It started
01:34 out on 1st June last year with just 23 drivers and it's now looking at nearly 100. It's going
01:42 from strength to strength so you can read about that as well today. So for those stories and for
01:47 anything else that's happening in Doncaster, just visit the website which is www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
01:54 or visit the Facebook page and X.
