00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Monday July the 29th,
00:04just bringing you some of our headlines this morning. A rather warm morning, I hope you've
00:09already had a nice weekend, we've certainly got out and about, enjoyed the sunshine. It's set to
00:15be a bit of a scorcher again today and tomorrow, so make the most of it while you can, but obviously
00:20take care, get that factor 50 on. Anyway, into the news, we put a story out over the weekend
00:28regarding a serious incident that happened in Doncaster city centre at the beginning of the
00:34weekend. A man has since appeared in court charged with attempted murder, four counts of possession
00:44of an offensive weapon and assault. The incident happened at the Angel and Royal on Cleveland
00:50Street just before half past 10 on Friday. We are led to believe that a member of the door staff
00:58was the one that was attacked and hospitalised. We'll obviously bring you more of that as the
01:04case goes through the criminal justice system. So that is that one, then what else have we got for
01:11you? One from Shannon, a local democracy reporter. Plans have been submitted for 15 affordable homes
01:19on the site of a former working men's club. Some say there are too many houses being built,
01:24others say there's a need for some more. So you can have a read about that,
01:30see what you think. You can obviously make some comments if you wish. Then finally,
01:36we have a Doncaster care home, quite a nice one. They've been enjoying the summer by holding a
01:43safari-themed party. Some lovely, lovely pictures there of them having a good time,
01:50just to lighten the mood after what seems to have been quite an unpleasant weekend for some.
01:58So for those three stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster,
02:02you know where to go. It's www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk
02:06and of course Facebook and X. And I hope you have a safe and relaxing Monday.
