Doncaster Free Press Daily Bulletin with Stephanie Bateman - Wednesday March 6, 2024
Transcript
00:00 Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press on a rather gloomy Wednesday morning,
00:06 March the 6th. Just bringing you some of our headlines from yesterday coming into today.
00:12 First of all, you probably all saw the early afternoon yesterday, there was a serious road
00:17 traffic collision closing Trafford Way in both directions. Like I said, that was early
00:24 afternoon. We soon found out from police that unfortunately that was a fatal incident involving
00:29 an elderly woman and a large goods vehicle. She was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
00:36 Very sad and obviously our thoughts are with the family and friends of that lady today. We've also
00:45 got a story linked to that that Darren sent out this morning, that that collision, that death,
00:52 was actually the 10th victim of a road death in Doncaster in only two months. Quite shocking
01:02 figures really. So there's a couple, two or three stories about the incident and that final one
01:09 about the death toll on the website today. Then we've also got another couple of linked stories.
01:16 We sent out something, Doncaster dad pulled his transgender daughter who is age 8 from a local
01:24 school, claiming she'd been violently bullied because of her sexuality. The school that she
01:30 attends has now got back in touch and hit back at these accusations of bullying. So you can read
01:37 both those stories again on the website this morning. Then something a little bit lighter
01:43 for you. Some lovely news for Doncaster Royal Infirmary's neonatal unit. There have been some
01:51 donations from Tesco of premature baby clothing, which is lovely. Obviously some babies are born
01:58 very, very early and the mums aren't prepared for it. So donations like this are more than welcome.
02:05 So that's a nice little story for you as well today. There's a lot more on there and obviously
02:11 there's going to be a lot more going up today as well. So you can visit the website
02:16 www.doncasterfupas.co.uk or obviously see what's happening on Facebook and Twitter.
02:23 I hope you have a great Wednesday.
