Transcript
00:00Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Wednesday June the 5th.
00:04Just bringing you some headlines this morning. First of all we have some good
00:07news from one of our primary schools, Lakeside Primary Academy has received a
00:12good Ofsted report following a visit back in April. The school previously had
00:19three ratings of requiring improvement, that's before it was taken over by the
00:25Rose Learning Trust back in November 2019, so that's great news. The staff
00:31have been praised for their efforts in bringing the school up to scratch and
00:35long may it continue, so well done to everyone involved there. Then we have
00:40one for our pastry fans. Greggs have been given the go-ahead to convert a car
00:48wash in Doncaster into a go-to store. This is one of those that has no
00:54seating in it I understand, it's just sort of like a drive-through, so if
00:59you're a fan of a sausage roll then that's great news for you. That's doing
01:03well on our website, everyone loves a Greggs story. And then lastly we have a
01:09story following a petition that was was put out only last week I believe
01:16relating to Doncaster Sheffield Airport and plans for it to be reinstated as a
01:22public airport. That petition has now been signed by 4,000 people and rising.
01:29You can visit that on change.org if you wish to sign that. All of us are
01:36hoping that one day it will open. This is hopefully going to give it a bit more
01:40impetus and hopefully one day we will see flights taking off and landing there
01:47to our favourite holiday destination, so everything crossed. So for those stories
01:51and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster today just visit the website
01:55www.doncasterfreepress.co.uk and of course Facebook and X. Have a great
02:02Wednesday!
