Doncaster Free Press Daily Bulletin with Stephanie Bateman - Friday January 19, 2024
Transcript
00:00 Good morning, it's Steph at the Doncaster Free Press and it's Friday January the 19th.
00:05 Just bringing you some of our headlines this morning. First of all, many of you will already
00:10 be aware that there's been some traffic chaos in the city centre this morning. There was
00:15 an incident in the French Gate Tunnel. Police have told us that there was an obstruction
00:20 in the road which led to gridlock of traffic. Obviously, it was this morning as people were
00:27 making their way to work and school. So that's caused quite a lot of problems this morning.
00:32 We'll bring you an update on that as and when we can. Then we have something from the RSPCA,
00:39 the Doncaster and Rotherham branch. They've put out a list of animals that they're looking
00:43 for forever homes. Most of them are cats and rabbits. There's some photos and some background
00:51 information about those animals and the sort of homes that would suit them. So if you're
00:56 looking to get a pet, that's the best place to have a look. Give those animals a nice
01:05 home to live in. And then finally, we have something from Yorkshire Water. It is freezing
01:10 at the moment, but it's not going to stay freezing forever. And they've put out a warning
01:15 for people to be prepared for what they call the freeze-thaw. When the temperature does
01:22 get a little warmer, homeowners could be looking at cracked pipes and damage caused after the
01:31 freeze. So there's some advice there. Take a read of that. It could be quite timely.
01:37 So for those three stories and for anything else that's happening in Doncaster this morning
01:42 and all for the rest of the day, just visit the website, which is www.doncasterfreepets.co.uk.
01:49 And if we don't speak again, have a great weekend.
