00:07A woman has been charged with the murder of her husband at their flat in Brighton.
00:10Emergency services responded to the incident in Lavender Street shortly after 7.30pm on
00:14Monday, May 27th.
00:16Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the victim, identified as 70-year-old Andrew Roden
00:21Stewart, was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene.
00:24Joanna Roden Stewart, also aged 70, was arrested and has since been charged with murder.
00:28She has been reminded in custody to appear before Crawley Magistrates Court on Friday,
00:32May 31st.
00:33A zoo in Sussex has opened up a £500,000 monkey habitat, which is its largest ever
00:39investment in an animal enclosure.
00:41The new area is designed for the colobus monkeys who have settled in well.
00:45The facilities include custom-built enrichment features to encourage natural foraging behaviour
00:49and bespoke branching climbing structures for the lively primates to swing, hang, rest
00:54and play on.
00:56And finally, Sussex Police are investigating a possible doorstop fraud in East Sussex and
01:00have appealed for witnesses and information.
01:02The incident happened at about 9pm on May 14th in Lower Dicker, Hellsham, with a group
01:06of three men involved.
01:08It follows a report from a vehicle owner of men purchasing a vehicle for sale, but tampering
01:11with the vehicle in order to obtain a lower price.
01:14Police have said that the three men involved were all aged in their 20s and were all dressed
01:17in black.
01:18Police have also released images of the men they wished to speak to in connection with
01:21this incident and told sellers to be vigilant to any possible scams.
