00:00 Hello there, Conor Gormley here, a trainee reporter for Sussex World and this is our
00:04 daily news bulletin where I walk you through all of our biggest stories
00:07 across both East and West Sussex today. Hundreds of vintage motors will take
00:12 part in an annual showcase next month running from May 4 to May 5.
00:16 Magnificent Motors is one of the biggest car events in Sussex and it gives us a
00:19 chance to see hundreds of vintage cars from all over the world and a number of
00:24 different decades and from a range of manufacturers. It's a big hit and there's
00:28 plenty of live entertainment, fun festivals, food and drinks there on the
00:32 day as well. A West Sussex man has taken the council to
00:36 court over damage caused by a pothole and surprisingly won. Sussex World has
00:41 reported David Butcher from East Preston issued a formal compensation request
00:45 after his car struck a pothole in Worthing wherein he attributed
00:48 the damage to the County Council's negligence or neglect rather of
00:52 the roads. Despite being told his claim was unlikely to see success he was
00:55 repaid in full after 11 months of fighting with the courts and urged
00:59 others in the same boat not to listen to naysayers who believe that pothole
01:03 victims won't be compensated. In Eastbourne a couple who left their
01:06 elderly dog alone while they went on holiday have been banned from owning the
01:10 animals following its death. Keith Byrne and Sophie Singer of
01:14 Beauchamp Court in Wilmington Guns were sentenced at
01:19 Lewis Crown Court after being found guilty of three animal welfare acts
01:22 offences in an earlier hearing. During proceedings the court heard how the pair
01:26 left their 14 year old pet boxer dog Bentley home alone in a quote terrible
01:30 condition to go on a family holiday in 2022. Concerned neighbours found the dog
01:34 collapsed at the bottom of the stairs apparently and contacted the RSPCA for
01:38 help after desperately trying to provide him with food. That's all from me
01:43 for today but for more from Sussex World do make sure to visit our website, buy
01:46 your local paper or follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Thank you
