00:08Welcome to our Scandinavian-inspired loft here in Pangasinan.

00:28The design and architecture po ng bahay po namin is combination po siya ng Scandinavian
00:34and Coastal.
00:35Sa exterior ng bahay po namin, kung mapapansin nyo, from the fence, yung mga halaman po namin,
00:43cactus, sa exterior wall, talagang naka-incorporate po yung Coastal home.
00:51Hilig po talaga namin na mag-beach kaya parang ganun yung labista namin.
00:56Kumukuha din po kami na inspiration sa Pinterest, sa Facebook, sa YouTube, especially po sa OG
01:03channel.
01:04This is one of my favorite part of the house kasi this is where I chill kapag may mga bisita
01:10kami.
01:11Dito kami nagkwekwentuhan and since I work in graveyard shift, kapag madaling araw, very
01:18peaceful yung place na to habang umiinom ng hot drinks or hot chocolate.
01:25Gusto namin i-share yung stone tiles namin, ginagdag namin as an accent pagdating sa aming
01:32bahay.
01:33Pasad ng bahay namin, which is lineya ang tawag nila dito sa tile nito.
01:39Sa States or sa ibang part ng mundo, this is supposed to be wood, pero dito sa Pilipinas,
01:44since mahal ang wood, we opted for it to be created as concrete nilang talaga, so simento
01:49nilang talaga siya.
01:50We were lucky na yung karapintero namin, ang galing talaga niyang humulma ng gano'ng
01:56design.
01:57Palagi nga itong tinatanong mga bisita namin, sabi sa amin minsan, tinatanong kung anong
02:01material ba siya, kung kahoy ba siya or simento.
02:05Minsan tinatapik-tapik pa nila yan kasi it looks very good, similar, very similar to
02:10wood talaga yung itsura niya.
02:12Ang property size po namin ay 80 square meters for the lot area and 53 square meters naman
02:21po for the floor area.
02:23Although maliit lang po yung space namin, yung bahay namin, complete and functional naman
02:29po ito.
02:30So, the reason why we opted for a loft house design is because, yun nga, very limited kasi
02:37yung area namin, very small ang lot area.
02:39So, iisip namin kung paano kayo magkakaroon ng isa pang kwarto na may sala sana.
02:45Kasi ang apartment kasi studio type, so yun na yung kwarto mo, yan na rin yung kusina.
02:50Yung kusina mo, kwarto, yang sala, halos isa na lang yan.
02:53Para separate yung bedroom namin, kaya nakapag-design kami sa loft design.
02:58Hindi siya gano'n kamahal.
03:00Tutusin sa isang buong floor, di ba?
03:03At least, buo yung sala mo, you will get to have a living space siguro kapag may receiving
03:10area for visitors.
03:12Unlike before, kapag may bisita kami, ayan na rin.
03:14Diyan na rin nakaupos na sa kama.
03:16Kasi yung room mo, since studio type siya, is yung ano mo na rin eh.
03:21Yung sala mo, and then doon rin yung TV.
03:23Pero ngayon, nakaseparate na siya.
03:24You have TV, you have a living room.
03:27Meron po tayo ditong shoe rack na pwede natin paglagan ng shoes para mamaintain po yung
03:34cleanliness ng ating bahay.
03:36Then, nag-admin po kami ng mga Nordic Design para pasok na pasok po sa theme ng aming bahay.
03:41At eto naman po yung aming living area.
03:45Okay.
03:46Here in our living area, mapapansin yun, dito yung sofa namin.
03:49And meron tayong TV dito.
03:51And also, it's an open space concept para magkakitaan lahat tayo.
03:55Kung may kaibigan kayo dito, so kitang kita, makapagbanding kayo na maayos.
03:59And also, we have a high ceiling.
04:01High ceiling para mas presko, maganda yung pasok ng hangin.
04:05And it gives an illusion of a bigger space.
04:08So dito naman po yung aming dining area na kung saan ang gusto kong ma-achieve ay parang
04:14nasa cafe.
04:15Kaya ganito po yung design na pinagawa po namin.
04:18And also, nagpalagay po kami ng wall panel dito para hindi sya boring tignan.
04:24Yung puro white walls na lang po yung wakita dito.
04:27Also, naglagay din po kami dito ng textured art na ako din po ang gumawa.
04:32At eto naman po yung pendant lamp na DIY ko din po.
04:35Nagawa po sya sa metal hanger and rakia.
04:38At kung titignan nyo po, napakaganda po ng kinalabasan.
04:43At eto naman po ang pinaka-favorite part kong area sa aming bahay.
04:47Which is the kitchen.
04:48Kasi, both of us po, mahilig po talaga kami magluto.
04:52Dito po kami madalas nagpabanding mag-asawa pag weekends, wala siyang paso.
04:58At eto naman po yung aming kitchen island for extra storage at extra space para sa pagluluto.
05:06And most of the time, andito po ako, nagtatambay.
05:09Kasi, yung content ko po, it's all about cooking.
05:13So, dito nyo ako madalas makikita talaga.
05:18Alright, so here's our toilet and bath.
05:21Maliit lang sya.
05:22We still use white tiles and a touch of wood.
05:25Para naman tuloy-tuloy yung concept ng Scandinavian old roundhouse.
05:342012, nagpakasal na kami.
05:36And at the time, I was still in college.
05:39So, nag-aaral pa ako at the time.
05:41So, may time nagkakapagkwentuhan din kami ni Wesley and we're talking about our green home.
05:46Actually, ako yung kinakabahan kasi nag-aaral pa ako before.
05:49So, iniisip ko, ano kayang gustong bahay ni Wesley?
05:52And then, ang sagot niya sa akin noong tinanong ko siya about her green home,
05:56sabi niya, simple lang, as long as magkasama tayo.
05:59So, that's something new.
06:01Kasi diba pagtatanongin mo yung mga tao, kailangan ganito.
06:03Parang marami siyang nang-require.
06:05Pero, for us talaga, nung sinabi niya yun, parang natuwa talaga ako.
06:10And sabi ko, whatever it is na gusto ni Wesley,
06:14someday, somehow after graduating from college,
06:17is ita tayo naming achieve yun together.
06:21Yung nag-start tong construction ng bahay, way back February 2022.
06:26At natapos naman siya by July 2022.
06:33Ang overall po na nagastos po namin sa bahay ay 1.4 million po.
06:44At ita naman po yung aming bedroom.
06:47Originally, open po itong area na to.
06:50Then, noong nag-summer, napag-decisionan po namin na pa-enclose po itong space na to
06:54para makapagpakabit po kami ng aircon at ma-enjoy po namin yung lamig ng bedroom.
07:00Ligid naman tayo sa aking workstation.
07:02So, it is my long dream to have a long table.
07:06No pun intended, napakahabang table yan.
07:08I have dual screen, good for work and gaming.
07:13And also, meron din si Russell dito. Ito yung setup niya.
07:17It's a small setup. Ito yung sa aking mas malaki.
07:20And also, aside from work and gaming, this will serve as our TV dito sa room.
07:25So, kung nasa bed kami and we wanted to watch a movie,
07:29pwede rin namin gamit dito to watch movies.
07:32So, meaning it's for gaming, work, and entertainment namin dito sa room na to.
07:36Well, challenges siguro during construction was more on budget.
07:44Kasi patapos na yung pandemic nun, pero grabe yung mahal yung gasolina.
07:51So, it affects everything.
07:53Yung materiales, yung bakal, halos 40% yung tinaas na materiales nun time na yun.
07:59So, that was the challenge. Parang feeling nain ma-overbudget talaga kami.
08:04Pero, so far, nagpasan naman namin.
08:08Isa sa mga naging, before pa nagmahal ng sobra-sobra yung materiales,
08:16ang ginawa namin, nagadvance na kami ng mga ibang materiales sabang mura pa.
08:21And, isa rin, challenge talaga kung nagpapagawa kayo mag-asawa is,
08:25yung ideas ninyo nagbabanga talaga.
08:28Ultimo yung saan yung position ng pinto. Pinag-aawayan talaga namin.
08:33Pero, maganda pinag-uusapan namin mag-asawa yun.
08:37And then, eventually, after a few days, nakaset na kasi yung paglalagay ng pinto.
08:42So, nalipat siya ulit sa gilid, which is mas better nga naman.
08:46So, nari-realize din namin dalawa, okay, mas okay pala sa gilid.
08:49Kasi nga, walang space na tatamaan.
08:52So, mga ganun mga bagay, siguro yung mga challenges.
08:55But, it's a challenge siya, and then you learn from it naman pag-challenge siya.
09:03The best advice po na maibibigay po namin as yung na-experience talaga namin is
09:10to actually do your research talaga.
09:13Kasi dapat alam, make sure lang po na alam mo yung mga pros and cons
09:18ng bawat materials na ilalagay mo sa bahay mo.
09:20Kasi once na naikabit na yan sa bahay mo,
09:23parang sobrang hirap na yung baguhin.
09:25And kung babaguhin man yan, madodoble or titriple talaga sa gastos.
09:30If you have thought of creating a house or deciding to build a house
09:36with your partner, do it already.
09:38So, if you have the means, for example, you can take a loan
09:41and you have the money to start it, go ahead and start it.
09:44Kasi one of the things na sinabi sa akin nung sister ko is
09:49kahit na anong gawin mo, tataas at tataas talaga yung presyo ng bilihin.
09:54So, kung may pera ka na, hindi ka po nag-start ngayon na mag-ipon ng materyales,
09:58then mas tataas penas, mapapamahal ka pa next year
10:01or kung kailan na tano magpagawa.
10:03Faith lang siguro.
10:05Talaga.
10:06And do it as soon as you can.
