00:00 We're here with Kane Brown. How's it going tonight?
00:02 It's going good.
00:03 Liar.
00:05 I know these are a little bit tricky.
00:06 How do you get through a busy awards season?
00:10 Honestly, I'm so chill. I'm just relaxed.
00:13 I don't have the energy that everybody else here has.
00:17 Unless I'm on stage. So I just coast through these.
00:21 You know, I think that energy is what makes your cover of "Georgia on My Mind" so beautiful.
00:24 It just complements you so well. Tell me about the decision to record that.
00:27 Thank you. So I did it for the Masters.
00:30 And then once we did that, we added it to my show.
00:34 And we just got this huge reaction from it.
00:36 And I was supposed to perform tonight.
00:40 Being Entertainer of the Year nominee, we were going to perform our new song, "The Marshmallow."
00:46 And I just didn't... I mean, now I think that it would be huge.
00:49 But at the time, it didn't feel right because it wasn't out yet.
00:53 And so I changed it to "Georgia on My Mind."
00:55 And it's very different for me. So I'm excited about it.
00:59 And we're going to go out there and kill it.
01:00 Sorry to Marshmallow.
01:02 No, no. We actually... We were just playing Call of Duty last night, talking about it.
01:06 Yeah, he was like, "Why didn't we do it?" So, yeah.
01:09 There will be many more opportunities.
01:10 Like you said, Entertainer of the Year, you know, you're a veteran at this point.
01:15 So being from Georgia, does that song have any special meaning to you?
01:19 Or do you just think it complemented your voice? What's the story behind it?
01:23 So I got asked to do it. So I didn't... I knew the song, but I never really knew the message of it.
01:28 And after I got told the message, two days ago actually, it made the song...
01:34 I was just like, "Wow." You know, it made that song mean so much more to me.
01:36 So I'm going to go up there tonight. And usually, I'm not going to lie to y'all,
01:40 usually I've been drinking a little bit before I've been here.
01:43 I'm sober as can be. I got water. I've been drinking tea, focusing on my vocals.
01:48 And we're just going to go up there and kill this performance.
01:52 I can't wait. So just quickly, because this is such a soulful song,
01:55 and then you have a collaboration with Marshmello, you really can do it all.
01:57 Is there one genre you haven't explored yet, but would like to?
02:02 Whichever makes sense, you know. I never thought that I would do a song with Corrine Leone.
02:09 And it happened. So I'm up for anything.
02:12 All right, well, we'll stay tuned. Thank you so much and congratulations.
02:15 Thank you.
