00:11 Why does Reba make such a perfect host?
00:14 And sort of like a point person to bring everybody together tonight?
00:17 Man, I've known Reba since I was like five.
00:19 My dad was a touring artist in the 90s,
00:21 and so my dad's first tour ever was with Reba.
00:24 And so I've known her for a long time,
00:26 and she has been the same kind-hearted, humble human being since 1994.
00:30 And she really is truly a legend,
00:32 and in my opinion, just the definition of a superstar.
00:35 And a humble one at that.
00:37 A humble one at that.
00:38 Do you have a favorite memory with her over the years, personally?
00:41 You know, two that stand out in my mind,
00:43 I remember being young and going to her Halloween parties as a kid.
00:47 There's a bunch of pictures of that.
00:49 But most recently, I did a song in 2020 called "Be a Light,"
00:52 and Reba was gracious to sing on that with me,
00:54 and I think it kind of created this full circle moment for me
00:57 that was really special.
00:59 You are definitely a light for a lot of us.
01:01 Who in your life is a light for you?
01:03 Man, my wife.
01:04 I mean, I know that sounds-- I just took a picture.
01:07 That's going to be really nice of my chin.
01:10 No, my wife.
01:11 It sounds cliche to say it, but gosh,
01:13 she makes me a better person every single day.
01:15 I would be physically lost without her.
01:17 I know you're taking a pretty special trip this summer.
01:19 Is that right?
01:20 What can you tell us about that?
01:21 Yeah, we're going to Africa for the first time with all of our children.
01:24 Me and Lauren have obviously been a bunch of times,
01:27 but getting to do that trip with them in particular
01:29 is going to be probably one of the highlights of my life.
01:32 So I'm very excited.
01:34 Are you hoping to relax a bit too during that trip, take a little time off?
01:37 Yeah, I think we're going to do some safari in southern Africa.
01:42 I'm just excited because my kids love animals,
01:44 and so to get to see lions and cheetahs that close is going to blow their minds,
01:48 and I can't wait to see it.
01:49 It would blow my mind too, honestly.
01:51 100%.
01:52 Is there anything else other than enjoying some family time
01:54 that you're looking forward to ahead or that you can tease to us?
01:57 Man, we're putting a record out in August that I'm just beyond excited for.
02:00 Been working on it for about a year and a half
02:02 and just released our first single on May 10th
02:04 and got songs coming out every month through the summer.
02:07 So I'm just super stoked about this record coming out.
02:09 Nice.
02:10 I need to ask because a lot of people are tapping into country music right now.
02:13 Are there any surprise features on the album?
02:15 Maybe.
02:16 I never want to say that yes, because I need to make guaranteed for certain
02:20 that it's actually happening.
02:21 You never know until it's out.
02:22 You never know.
02:23 I've made that mistake before.
