00:00 Hello there, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met. As we start a new working
00:05 week, the weather is set to remain fairly changeable across the country, but for some
00:09 of us increasingly mild. So as we end the weekend, we've still got this area of low
00:13 pressure close by. It will gradually fill as we go into Monday, but then that will allow
00:18 another weather system to begin to move in as we approach Tuesday.
00:22 Back to the here and now for the rest of Sunday. Still got this area of rain across many parts
00:27 of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. It will gradually weaken as we go through the
00:31 course of the night and really it's just going to leave behind quite a lot of cloud, some
00:35 mist and murk across many parts of the United Kingdom.
00:39 Some clear skies down towards Devon and Cornwall and up across the very far north-west of Scotland.
00:43 So here, who could you see a touch of frost in a few spots, but for many parts of the
00:48 country, thanks to the cloud cover, a fairly mild night to come. Temperatures not falling
00:52 much lower than around 5 to 7 degrees. But we do start Monday off on a fairly grey, murky
00:58 note especially across the high ground. Some spits and spots of light rain and drizzle
01:02 too and then a more persistent band of rain just reaching the far west of Scotland and
01:08 Northern Ireland as we approach lunchtime. But for many parts of England and Wales, a
01:12 much drier picture compared to Sunday. But again, sunshine is going to be at a premium
01:17 tomorrow. Best of the brightness once again down towards Devon and Cornwall. The Channel
01:22 Islands also seeing some spells of sunshine. So in any sunshine, temperatures reaching
01:26 around 11 or 12 degrees. Elsewhere, with lighter winds, it will feel a little bit less cold
01:32 compared to the weekend, but still temperatures a little bit below where they should be for
01:36 the time of year.
01:40 Into the evening, the band of rain across Scotland will gradually work its way north-eastward.
01:44 Some snow across the high ground is also possible. Elsewhere, dry initially, but then another
01:49 band of rain then approaches in across parts of Northern Ireland, Wales and south-west
01:53 England by the end of the night. So where we do see the cloud and rain, it's going to
01:58 be another fairly mild night. Temperatures not falling much lower than around 5 to 6
02:02 degrees. Elsewhere across England, we will see some clearer skies later on. So it could
02:06 just turn a little bit chillier, but that will then be compensated by initially some
02:10 sunshine Tuesday morning. But it won't last as the band of rain further west will spread
02:14 across all parts of England and Wales as we go through the course of the morning. Some
02:18 heavy rain as it moves its way north-eastwards and it approaches southern Scotland as we
02:23 move into the afternoon. So the best of any sunshine come the afternoon will be across
02:27 the very far north of Scotland. It does turn drier for Wales and south-west England, but
02:33 still fairly cloudy, but increasingly mild. We will see probably highs reaching around
02:38 13 degrees Tuesday afternoon. Elsewhere, definitely feeling milder than it has been, just hanging
02:44 on to the cooler conditions up across the very far north of Scotland. Then looking ahead
02:49 to the rest of the working week, Wednesday to Friday, we're still going to be dominated
02:55 by areas of low pressure. But initially, we are dragging in some milder air. So Wednesday,
03:00 Thursday could turn increasingly mild, temperatures reaching the mid-teens. But generally, we're
03:05 going to see further outbreaks of rain, some increasing winds at times too. The wettest
03:10 of the weather across more northern and western parts, especially Wednesday, Thursday. But
03:14 as I said, turning increasingly mild, especially across the south. Well, if you want more information
