Rain and hill snow will push northwards and eastwards across England and Wales, some heavy spells in places. Sunshine and scattered, locally heavy showers following further south, with a risk of thunder locally. 00:00 Good morning and happy first day of
00:02 meteorological spring. However,
00:03 probably not feeling quite like it,
00:05 especially in the north where you've
00:07 possibly woken up to a touch of frost,
00:09 but some bright skies as well
00:11 compared to the West.
00:12 So we got outbreaks of rain pushing
00:15 through and we have actually got
00:17 a yellow rain warning in force.
00:18 So if you are up early driving,
00:21 be please take care as there
00:22 may be spray on the road.
00:24 Surface water flooding as well,
00:26 leading to some transport disruptions
00:28 as we go through the morning.
00:30 Then this cloud and rain is going to
00:32 push its way north and eastwards,
00:34 turning wintry over the highest
00:35 ground of the Wales and then more
00:37 so across northern parts of England.
00:39 Through the day behind that we've
00:40 got blustery showers feeding in.
00:42 Some of these are going to be heavy,
00:44 containing the odd rumble of thunder,
00:46 but you'll notice across
00:47 Scotland and Northern Ireland.
00:48 That's actually where we're going to
00:50 see the best of the sunshine through
00:52 Friday turning a little bit hazy as
00:54 we go through the afternoon with a
00:56 few showers at clicking clipping the
00:58 most northern Western parts of Scotland.
01:00 As for temperatures,
01:01 then it is going to be feeling cold out there.
01:04 We've got the strong winds coming
01:05 through the cloud and rain,
01:07 so when you factor all of that in,
01:09 well actually,
01:10 temperatures are going to feel close to
01:12 freezing or for many of us through Friday.
01:14 And then as we go through the rest
01:16 of the afternoon and evening time,
01:18 that band of rain is going to gradually
01:21 push its way further towards the West,
01:23 so turning wintry across the part
01:25 of Scotland through the day.
01:26 And then behind it,
01:27 it's really quite a messy picture
01:29 with outbreaks of rain and showers,
01:31 but you'll notice some clearer
01:33 scouts spells developing,
01:34 especially for Western parts.
01:35 So compared to this morning,
01:37 actually it's going to be colder here
01:39 with a touch of frost developing.
01:41 So then temperatures.
01:42 Well,
01:42 it's going to be chilly underneath
01:44 the clearest skies and generally
01:46 ranging from close to freezing up
01:48 to around two or four degrees.
01:50 So chilly start out there for many of us,
01:53 but again it is going to be a messy picture.
01:56 Like I said,
01:57 plenty of outbreaks of rain and showers
01:59 will hold on to some brightness.
02:01 First thing,
02:01 but cloud generally building
02:03 through the day,
02:04 so many of us probably seeing a little
02:06 bit of rain or shower through the day.
02:09 As for temperatures ranging from
02:10 around 6 in the North to 8 in the South,
02:13 we're still holding on to a brisk wind,
02:16 especially across the coastal areas,
02:18 slightly lighter as we go inland.
02:20 And then if we look ahead to Sunday,
02:22 well,
02:23 it looks like at the moment a drier picture.
02:26 There may be some rain in eastern parts,
