00:00 Good morning and welcome to your National Morning Weather update from the Met Office.
00:04 It's a much milder start out there, a lot of cloud around but also some patchy outbreaks
00:09 of rain. And that patchy rain is going to continue to push its way southwards through
00:13 this morning. But you'll notice drier skies for Scotland, so plenty of sunny spells developing
00:19 here later on into the afternoon. But we'll see some showers just feeding in from the
00:24 north affecting the Midlands and the south east of England elsewhere, a largely dry day.
00:30 But you'll also notice a brisk wind, especially across Shetland and running down the east
00:35 coast. So here it is going to be feeling quite chilly, especially when you're exposed to
00:39 that wind. But further towards the west, we could see temperatures reaching up to 12 or
00:43 possibly 13 or 14 in the sunshine and also in the lighter winds. Through this evening,
00:50 the showers are going to gradually fade away, cloud melting, plenty of clear spells on offer
00:56 this evening. The winds are still going to be strong, especially along the east coast
00:59 and running down to East Anglia. But with lighter winds further towards the west, this
01:04 is where we're going to see temperatures fall and we could see a touch of frost developing
01:09 on Saturday morning. So it's going to lead to a chilly start on Saturday morning once
01:14 again, but plenty of sunshine on offer, especially through the morning, turning cloudy across
01:21 Scotland though through the afternoon with patchy rain moving in from the west elsewhere,
01:27 holding on to some sunny spells, but perhaps a little bit more cloud developing into the
01:31 afternoon. We'll still hold on to a brisk wind across the across East Anglia, but generally
01:36 lighter winds than what we've seen today. As for temperatures, temperatures really are
01:42 going to be around average, still feeling chilly underneath the wind in the east, but
01:46 further towards the west around 12 or possibly 14 degrees in the likes of Northern Ireland.
01:52 Otherwise, if you want more details on the forecast for this weekend, be sure to stay
