A former general manager of a state government subsidiary has pleaded not guilty at the Ayer Keroh Sessions Court in Melaka on Friday (Feb 16) to a charge of using his office for gratification by appointing his daughter to a position in the company.

00:19 appointing his daughter, Nurnadiya Abu Bakar, to the position of Assistant Human Resources
00:25 Officer at Panorama Melaka, Sanjian Berhad.
00:28 He allegedly committed the offence at the company at Terminal Building, Melaka Central,
00:32 Jalantun Abdul Razak in Melaka on December 27, 2018.
00:37 The charge under Section 23(1) of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission Act 2009 carries
00:43 a maximum jail term of up to 20 years and a fine of not less than five times the sum
00:49 or value of the gratification upon conviction.
00:52 Judge Elizabeth Payah 1 set bail at RM10,000 and also ordered Abu Bakar to surrender his
00:58 passport to the court.
01:00 Abu Bakar is also ordered to report himself at the MACC office once a month.
