A caretaker of a charity home linked to Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings (GISB) has claimed trial at the Selayang Sessions Court to a charge of abusing a child under his care by using a rotan.

Mohd Syahid Hanapiah pleaded not guilty after the charge was read out to him before judge Lailatul Zuraida Harron @ Harun on Friday.

00:26According to the charge sheet, Mohammad Shahid was accused of abusing a six-year-old boy who
00:31was under his care by using a rotan that could have resulted in injury.
00:35The judge fixed bail at 10,000 ringgit in one surety.
00:39The court fixed November 5th for mention and for the accused to appoint a lawyer.
00:43Yesterday, Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Razzaroodin Hussain
00:47said that a caretaker with a GISB-linked charity home would be charged for child abuse.
00:53The police had launched Ops Global at the beginning of September
00:56and raided charity homes across Peninsular Malaysia linked to GISB
01:01on suspicion of child and religious exploitation activities.
01:05As a result of the raids, 572 victims were rescued while 359 followers of GISB,
