A woman linked to GISB Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB) pleaded not guilty at the Klang Sessions Court on Oct 30 to 10 charges of child exploitation early last month.

Another woman also associated with GISB pleaded not guilty at the magistrate's court to a charge of being involved in managing an unregistered care centre.

00:00A woman linked to GISB Holdings pleaded not guilty at the Klang Sessions Court on Wednesday
00:08to 10 charges of child exploitation.
00:11The 44-year-old accused, Azmat alias Azmanira Muhammad Ramli, entered her plea after the
00:17charges were read to her.
00:19She is accused of trafficking 10 children, all aged 8 years old, at the Cahaya Kaseh
00:24Bestari Care Centre in Kampung Melayu, Subang, on September 11.
00:29Her charges are framed under the Penal Code and the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling
00:35of Migrants Act.
00:37The court fixed December 13 for next case mention.
00:40At the Klang Magistrates Court, another woman, 54-year-old Mahani Qasim, also pleaded not
00:47guilty to a charge of being involved in managing an unregistered care centre.
00:51The accused is also associated with the GISB group.
00:56Her charge is framed under the Child Care Act, and the court also fixed December 13
01:01for next mention.
01:03No bail was offered as both the accused are detained under the Security Offences Special
01:07Measures Act.
01:08Meanwhile, at the Johor Bahru High Court, lawyer Datuk Rosli Qamaruddin said his client,
01:15GISB CEO Datuk Nasiruddin Muhammad Ali, had filed a habeas corpus application to challenge
01:21his arrest under the Security Offences Special Measures Act.
01:26The lawyer presented a notice on the application for Nasiruddin, his wife and another applicant
01:31who named the Home Affairs Minister, the Inspector General of Police, and several others as respondents.
01:39They requested for their release from what they claim was an unlawful arrest and detention.
01:44The court fixed December 4 for the hearing.
01:48Last week, the trio were charged with being members of an organised crime group from October
01:522020 to September 2024.
