An unemployed man pleaded guilty in the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Friday (Sept 6) to a charge of murdering his parents whose bodies were found in a pool of blood at their home in Kampung Sungai Penchala end of last year.

Afendi Muhammad Agus@Muhamed Ali, 43, made the plea after the two charges were read out before Judge K. Muniandy.

00:00A jobless man pleaded guilty at the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Friday to a charge of
00:06murdering his parents, whose bodies were found in a pool of blood at their home in December
00:11last year.
00:13Affendi Muhammad Agus alias Muhammad Ali made the plea after the two charges were read out
00:18before Judge K. Munyandi.
00:20The 43-year-old was accused of murdering his parents, aged 82 and 72, at a house in Kampung
00:26Sungai Penjala between 7.10 p.m. and 7.20 p.m. on December 9.
00:33The charges were framed under Section 302 of the Penal Code, which carries the death
00:37penalty or imprisonment of between 30 and 40 years, and caning of not less than 12 times
00:43upon conviction.
00:44Earlier, Judge Munyandi asked lawyer Muhammad Ruzaini Zulkifli, representing the accused,
00:51to ascertain whether his client intended to maintain his guilty plea.
00:56Despite being explained by the lawyer the reasons and consequences of his plea, Affendi
01:02maintained his guilt.
01:03Muhammad Ruzaini then informed the court that he was newly appointed and asked for time
01:08to examine the case documents.
01:10The court recorded the guilty plea by the accused and also that he understood the reasons
01:15and consequences of the plea and set October 10 for mention.
