Malaysia is ready to assist in humanitarian efforts after the powerful earthquake in Myanmar and northern Thailand.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Friday (March 28) reaffirmed solidarity with Asean neighbors.

Meanwhile, Wisma Putra announced the temporary closure of the Malaysian Embassy in Bangkok for safety assessment, while embassies in Yangon and Bangkok continue to monitor the situation.

00:44Meanwhile, Wisma Putra announced that the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok, located at
00:50Kronos Office Tower, has been temporarily sealed for safety assessments.
00:55The foreign ministry has advised Malaysians to avoid the premises until further notice.
01:00In a statement on Friday evening, Wisma Putra urged Malaysians in Bangkok to assemble at
01:05the embassy complex next to Sathorn Garden in case of an emergency or severe aftershocks.
01:11It also advised Malaysians in Myanmar and Thailand to remain vigilant, stay informed
01:17through local authorities and take necessary safety precautions.
01:21Preliminary checks by the Malaysian Embassy in Yangon confirmed that all Malaysians in
01:26Myanmar are safe and unaffected by the quake.
01:30Similarly, reports from Thailand indicate no Malaysian casualties.
01:35The foreign ministry assured that it will continue to monitor the situation and provide
01:39updates as necessary.
