00:00 Once again McFarlane is rocking the retro.
00:03 Here's a look at the new McFarlane toys DC Super Powers, The Peacemaker, Judo Master and Vigilante.
00:25 Continuing the legacy of the DC Super Powers line of the 80's comes your favorite heroes in classic nostalgia series you love.
00:32 Each figure in the DC Super Powers Peacemaker, Judo Master and Vigilante 4 inch scale action figure 3 pack features approximately 5 points of articulation.
00:41 They come packaged in an iconic Super Powers blister card packaging with artwork and logos reflecting your favorite characters.
00:48 Just before we get a closer look at the new Super Powers 3 pack consisting of Peacemaker, Judo Master and Vigilante in that order,
00:55 I'd like to send out a big thank you first to the folks over at McFarlane Toys that did provide this sample we could have a look at.
01:01 The figures are all roughly about the same size.
01:03 You could if anything make the argument that Judo Master is a slight bit taller figure just because of the ponytail on the back.
01:08 But still I'm only going to really measure one of them and kind of keep it consistent about the same size with all of them.
01:14 You're looking though at all the figures being about 4 and a half inches in height or they're going to be about 12 centimeters tall.
01:20 And bringing in a couple of the League members for comparison's sake, here's first of all what the Peacemaker looks like with the more classic blue cowl Batman.
01:28 My favorite so far of what we've gotten from the Super Powers line.
01:31 Here's as well what the figure looks like with the Flash and why I'm putting actually the Flash so close like this to Vigilante is because it looks like they are sharing the same molds with one another.
01:40 And I'm sure that is something that's going to be consistent with some of these figures.
01:44 Here's what the figure also as well looks like with Aquaman and finally bringing in the Amazonian Princess.
01:49 Here's what they also look like with more of the classic looking Wonder Woman.
01:53 I can already tell you one thing I'm a little disappointed by is the fact that none of these figures actually come included with accessories.
01:58 It's actually more teased with Peacemaker than anything else just because he has a gripping hand.
02:02 You really would think that the figure would come included with a gun and yet sadly is not the case.
02:06 Just before though we actually look at those figures I did also want to bring in the packaging because I really think the packaging...
02:11 I did my best to kind of cut the front card out so I could actually still remove the blister.
02:16 Not that I really have the plan to put the figures back into their plastic prison but I do really like the actual packaging that they gave these.
02:22 On the back though I mean all three figures look like they were pulled from...
02:26 Do you remember those old 80s guides that will actually give you a breakdown of the characters you'd flip through the pages?
02:30 Usually in alphabetical order and then you would be able to look at the stat for Peacemaker for example.
02:35 And usually they'd have a front three-quarter turn, three-quarter back turn.
02:39 That seems to be something that I'm kind of looking at here when I'm especially like Vigilante.
02:42 I swear I've seen this cartoon this image of Vigilante before but really nice looking packaging.
02:47 I know I'm just kind of covering off the front of the camera here but moving that out of the way like I said the only one thing that's disappointing about this set...
02:53 is the fact that the figures are really sorely lacking accessories.
02:56 The biggest one the biggest culprit really being Peacemaker.
02:59 Peacemaker when you look at the figure you know right away that the character should really be carrying around a gun.
03:04 And they tease the fact that the figure does actually have a gripping hand but yet he does not come in clue with a gun.
03:09 I'm going to see if I can actually have I'm sure enough guns of this size I could probably find something similar enough to fit inside the hand of Peacemaker.
03:17 But again that's the only thing that's really disappointing about this set.
03:19 Classic looking Peacemaker helmet though.
03:21 You only get really a chance to kind of see more his mouth.
03:24 The eyes are so small it's really kind of hard to make out the peepers inside of it.
03:29 It's nicely cast here in a silver plastic or they may have very well painted it.
03:33 But if you look at the bottom of it kind of gives me the indication I'm guessing they probably would have molded this in silver plastic.
03:40 The rest of the body he has a red outfit very nicely printed Peacemaker logo there on the front.
03:45 Blue gloves, blue belt and then down below of course he does have more the white pants white slacks.
03:51 And he also has more of those kind of buccaneer style boots.
03:54 All the figures by the way do have pegs on the undersides of their feet.
03:58 And because these are the newer superpowers figures unfortunately something else that they're sorely lacking in is any gimmick or feature.
04:04 I'm sure in a case like this you'd be squeezing the legs of Peacemaker.
04:07 And I'm probably sure his gun arm would probably swing forward like this like he's drawing his weapon.
04:12 Not the case unfortunately here.
04:14 The figures are only just really relegated to only just the posability points.
04:17 Usually just I would say seven I think is one.
04:20 One obviously with the head so the head does rotate all the way around.
04:23 Two and three would be the arms that rotate all the way around.
04:26 Three and four. I say that right? Four and five?
04:29 Four and five yes would be the legs if you want to have them more in a seated position.
04:33 And then adding six and seven to the mix would be then the knee articulation.
04:37 So you get seven points of articulation for these figures.
04:40 But a nice looking Peacemaker.
04:42 Again the only thing that's really unfortunately lacking is the fact the figure doesn't come included with the gun.
04:45 But I'm going to see if I can solve that problem myself.
04:47 By looking in my tickle trunk of toy parts and see if I can find myself a gun that way.
04:52 Another figure in the set is Juno Master.
04:54 Now Juno Master I'm sure has been used this mold before.
04:57 Probably maybe Batman.
04:59 They probably would have used a different arm and I thought right away.
05:02 I'm just going to bring back in him for a second.
05:04 I thought they may have maybe used say Aquaman's body.
05:07 You can kind of see like the arms and the hands are completely different from one another.
05:10 Like the hands I thought would have been a telltale sign that they used the mold again.
05:13 But obviously it's not the same. It's not the same torso.
05:16 Maybe the same torso in fact actually.
05:19 The lower legs would have been something they would have done differently.
05:21 But it looks like he's probably using the same.
05:24 Yeah he's looking like he's using the same torso as the long haired Aquaman.
05:28 This one does have the benefit of the ponytail there on the back.
05:31 He's very brightly colored.
05:33 He's got the starburst symbol there on the front.
05:35 Nice bright yellow and then of course you got the red all around that.
05:38 Head sculpt is actually really good on this one as well.
05:40 All of these figures not only do remind me of the original Kenner days of superpowers.
05:44 But in a way they also remind me of, remember the Justice League figures?
05:48 For a while they were actually very relegated to limited articulation points.
05:51 Then they started to bring in articulation.
05:54 But it usually meant that the figures were very big and bulky.
05:56 Then they kind of reverted that back to giving us figures that only I think had only, was it six points or seven points?
06:02 I'm trying to remember if they actually had knee articulation.
06:04 I think it was actually just head, arms and the legs were the only things on those Justice League figures.
06:08 But this does really remind me of my days of collecting Justice League figures.
06:11 I collected almost all of them.
06:13 Again, Furry's articulation is going to be exactly the same as the Peacemaker from before.
06:17 I'm sure again with his gimmick it would have been just a case like Peacemaker.
06:20 You squeeze the legs.
06:22 He probably would have been doing a karate chopping action.
06:24 He doesn't have that this time.
06:26 Still it's only just the head.
06:28 Still it's just the arms, the legs and the knees.
06:30 Gives you seven points of articulation here on Judo Master.
06:33 One of my certainly favorites from this set.
06:36 I think my favorite actually is maybe Vigilante.
06:38 I just really like the way that this one turned out.
06:40 He has the goggles there on the front.
06:42 Sort of looks like a skiing superhero.
06:44 The red goggles are really nicely done and trimmed outside of that with the white panel lining.
06:49 He's got the nice panel lining of the blue and the white.
06:51 Actually really the panel lining on this figure is really cleanly applied.
06:54 I don't see really any real paint problems that I could really point out to you guys.
06:59 The blue and again like the white is really nicely done.
07:02 The white on the gloves is also a little more of an off-white too.
07:05 It's not really quite a solid white.
07:07 In fact actually with him and Peacemaker, the whites aren't super bright.
07:11 It almost looks like they're a little bit faded in colors.
07:13 Now this one does also have a yellow belt.
07:16 The belt on the side does actually have like a holstered sword or a knife.
07:20 But you can't draw it out. It's basically just molded in place.
07:22 But a really nice looking figure.
07:24 They did actually take the time to sculpt the boots and the gloves.
07:28 So when you run your fingers along that, maybe not as much for the gloves, but definitely for the boots.
07:31 You can definitely feel there's a new sculpt here.
07:33 That wasn't just the case that they just painted the existing boots and then painted in the little rectangles of the darker.
07:39 Again, it's kind of more of a bluish gray that they used for the majority of his body.
07:42 Still the articulation is still where it counts.
07:45 5, 7 points? I want to say 5.7 points of articulation.
07:48 So yes, the head rotates all the way around.
07:50 Still the same with the arms, the legs, and the knees.
07:53 It's a good looking set.
07:55 One thing that benefits with this set is I think it also fills in the ranks without having to go and individually buy all these.
08:00 Maybe somebody wouldn't be as interested necessarily in Judo Master.
08:03 Maybe somebody wouldn't be as interested to get Peacemaker.
08:06 I think everybody would be interested now with the Peacemaker series that everybody would want to get a Peacemaker.
08:10 But I think this is a good set and I would love to see them do more of this.
08:14 Whereas if you want to get say one figure for the price of getting not really quite three figures for the price of that.
08:20 Because of course I think all the individual figures work out to be about $15.
08:23 And I think the set from what I've seen so far online is sitting around just almost $40 for the set of the three.
08:29 But I think it's also a good smart thing on McFarlane's part to release these as a three pack.
08:34 To give you the chance then to get the characters that you wouldn't necessarily maybe go out of your way to get.
08:38 Like again I keep pointing at Judo Master.
08:41 Maybe people aren't as familiar with Judo Master.
08:44 That that may not be a figure that would sell as well and would end up just ultimately being relegated to being warming on the pegs.
08:50 But it's a nice looking set from the folks over at McFarlane Toys.
08:53 As I did say though I think this would be a smart opportunity for McFarlane Toys not to release more of these three pack sets.
08:59 Giving you a chance to get these more obscure characters.
09:02 Maybe not now as much as obscure with Vigilante and Peacemaker.
09:06 But I would still say Judo Master is a character that may have some collectors scratching their heads trying to identify who he is.
09:12 But I would love to certainly see them release more three packs.
09:15 I was thinking like Firestorm but I really think like Firestorm could easily sell on his own.
09:19 But what other obscure characters could you think of that would make valuable three pack releases from McFarlane's team?
09:25 Let me know down below in the comments section.
09:27 Speaking of McFarlane Toys once again I'd like to thank the folks over at McFarlane Toys that did provide this sample of the new Super Powers three pack.
09:33 That consisted of the Peacemaker without his gun, Judo Master without his feature and Vigilante just being a really cool looking figure.
