00:03 A man has been charged with wounding with intent after a Derbyshire town centre incident that left his victim in hospital.
00:09 At around 10am on Saturday, police officers were called to King Street in Belper following reports of an assault.
00:16 Paramedics also attended the scene.
00:18 Following enquiries, two incidents of alleged assault were reported to police,
00:22 as well as an allegation of theft and criminal damage caused at nearby businesses.
00:27 Darren Lakin, aged 30, of Bridge Street in Belper, has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm,
00:34 assault, criminal damage and theft.
00:36 He has been remanded in custody and is due to appear in court today.
00:40 A victim who has been injured during the incident has now been discharged from hospital and is being supported by officers.
00:46 Police have asked that anyone with information relating to the event should get in touch with them.
