00:28 Yesterday the Crown Prosecution Service agreed the following charges for both Karl Aylesbrook
00:33 and Elijah's mother, India Shemwell, who were in a relationship at the time of Elijah's

00:39 Karl Aylesbrook, aged 18, of Upper Greenhill Gardens in Matlock, has been charged with
00:44 the murder of Elijah Shemwell, as well as section 20, inflicting grievous bodily harm
00:48 to Elijah, and a section 18 charge of causing grievous bodily harm to Elijah.
00:53 India Shemwell, who is aged 22, of Rosehill Street in Derby, has been charged with two
00:58 counts of cruelty to a person under 16.
01:02 India Shemwell has been released on police bail, while Karl Aylesbrook has been remanded
01:06 into police custody.
01:07 He is due to appear before Southern Derbyshire Magistrates Court today.
