00:00 Welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I'm Pete Quinnell.
00:08 Since Triple H took over control of WWE back in 2022, there was a flurry of re-signings
00:13 that he made, including people like Karrion Kross, Bronson Reed, Dexter Lumis, Emma, Dakota
00:18 Kai, Braun Strowman, Hit Row, Mia Yim, Johnny Gargano, Candice LeRae, etc.
00:23 However there may be another two names to add to that list, though we haven't seen
00:27 them on TV yet, despite them reportedly potentially being re-signed since 2022 as well.
00:32 Akam and Rezar, known as the Authors of Pain or AOP, were released by WWE in September
00:37 2020, and went on to try and do a wrestling show in the UK called WES, W-E-S.
00:43 That didn't quite go as planned though, with talent booked on the show complaining
00:46 about issues with pay.
00:47 But according to Fightful Select, sources have told them that AOP had re-signed with
00:51 WWE as far back as last year, but they haven't managed to confirm that as of yet themselves.
00:57 Specifically they were told that it was before Vince McMahon came back, because that put
01:00 a halt on all signings besides new recruits.
01:03 They were also reportedly internally listed on a travel list back in May, so there's
01:08 every chance we could be seeing AOP back again soon.
01:10 Then again, we could have another Eric Young situation on our hands where they're re-signed,
01:14 unused, and then leave again, which frankly, would be hilarious.
01:19 Moving over to AEW, we're in the in-between times between All In and All Out, and with
01:24 Dynamite last night having to both have the comedown and reset from All In, and also do
01:29 the final build for All Out, there were quite a lot of plates to spin.
01:32 But there's even more plates than we realised, as there's been some details behind the
01:35 planning for Dynamite and All Out.
01:37 There's the elephant in the room of CM Punk and Jack Perry's suspensions changing plans
01:41 for the shows, with Fightful Select revealing that the likely original plan for All Out's
01:46 main event was going to be CM Punk vs. Ricky Starks for the real world championship, however
01:51 we don't know whether that match can now go ahead with Punk's suspension lingering.
01:55 Oddly, Tony Khan announced on X after Dynamite that Ricky Starks will be on collision to
02:00 challenge Ricky's Steamboat to a strap match at All Out, which was not a sentence that
02:05 I had on my 2023 bingo card.
02:08 Whether this is the actual match though, or could lead to a Punk interruption, we don't
02:12 know as details on Punk's suspension are still hazy.
02:15 So that's one factor that's changed plans this week.
02:18 There was also Bray Wyatt's funeral, which was originally planned to take place this
02:22 week, and as such Tony Khan had granted time off for anyone on the roster who wished to
02:26 attend.
02:27 The funeral was then delayed until next week, but regardless it seems like some stars were
02:30 already off.
02:31 So that's factor two.
02:33 Tony Khan also tweeted before the show that due to "minor illnesses" among the roster,
02:37 that's factor three, and "Hurricane Idalia affecting flights", that's factor four,
02:42 there were going to be some changes to AEW Dynamite.
02:44 I saw a tweet this morning, and I'm so sorry, I can't remember who posted it and couldn't
02:49 find it again when I searched for it, but I think it summed this all up pretty well.
02:52 You can't blame Tony Khan or AEW for the travel issues, the illnesses, the funeral,
02:57 and the circumstances that led to Dynamite needing to be changed.
03:00 You can blame them for booking two pay-per-views on consecutive weekends, meaning that if there
03:05 were a disaster week like this one, then the show would be drastically affected, exponentially
03:10 so.
03:11 But I'm still excited for All Out, so at least they pulled that off.
03:16 Do you, like most people, think that the WrestleTalk News presenters are the most attractive people
03:20 on planet Earth?
03:21 Do you, like some other people, think that the WrestleTalk News presenters could be
03:25 the most attractive people on planet Earth, if only they could remove all of their facial
03:30 features?
03:31 Well do we have the shirt for you.
03:32 It's our brand new WrestleTalk News Presenter Faces shirt, complete with no facial features.

03:42 become the world's coolest person, with the world's coolest people, on your shirt.
03:47 I'm Oli Davis, and now it's time for my review of the post-All In, pre-All Out, maybe
03:51 there are too many shows to promote, Shake It All About episode of AEW Dynamite… in
03:58 about 5 minutes.
03:59 The show began with an awesome recap package of Sunday night's All In.
04:02 I was there.
04:03 And apparently so were CM Punk and Jack Perry, who were both included in the footage despite
04:08 their reported suspensions.
04:09 After Jon Moxley killed Rey Fenix last week in a great match, he tried to murder another
04:14 luchador on this episode by wrestling CM.
04:16 They worked a big man/small man match, which Mox viciously won, quickly transitioning a
04:21 piledriver kickout into elbows and the series of submissions.
04:28 It was both a bad post-All In show, and a bad All Out go home show.
04:32 There were too many masters to serve, too many shows to run to an increasingly fatigued
04:36 Chicago crowd, and too many backstage controversies clouding Dynamite.
04:41 However, putting all that to one side, this was an excellent bottle episode focusing on
04:47 the International Championship, which has become one of the best titles in wrestling.
04:51 Just like how WWE's presentation of the Bloodline and AEW's own MJF and Adam Cole
04:56 storyline were elevated by having multiple segments on each episode, the All Out feud
05:01 of Orange Cassidy vs Mox felt far more significant because it got far more TV time here.
05:06 There was Moxley's opening match, three backstage promos and an awesome main event
05:11 and post-match angle to make this the bookend focus of the show.
05:14 I wouldn't mind if it was All Out's main event.
05:17 Everything else, unfortunately, felt incredibly lacklustre considering the All In and Out
05:21 scheduling.
05:22 We were shown a clip backstage from All In where the Young Bucks apologised to FTR for
05:26 not shaking their hands.
05:27 All In was meant to be their show, they said, and they lost.
05:30 Enter possibly the most fun heel act right now, Bullet Club Gold, to challenge them to
05:35 an eight man tag at All Out.
05:36 Yay, more Moldy Man matches.
05:38 This would've been much better if it was FTR vs Bucks vs J Wine and Juice Robinson.
05:42 I'm sure it'll still be a great match, but it feels like card filler.
05:46 Perhaps the Bucks will definitively turn heel on FTR in the post-match to give it more impact.
05:50 No not that one.
05:51 Toni Storm continued her entertaining new Meltdown character following the Outcast split,
05:56 where she even threw a shoe at Renee Paquette.
05:59 Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara made up again after Jericho had shoved Guevara following
06:03 the Ospreay match.
06:04 And then they argued again.
06:05 And then they made up again.
06:07 I've grown really tired of Jericho's back and forth split teases with Guevara and/or
06:11 Daniel Garcia.
06:12 Again, hopefully something definitively happens to get these characters out of storyline purgatory
06:17 next week when Les X Gods fight FTR for the tag team titles.
06:21 Don Callis might be involved in that, as he tried to schmooze Sammy later on.
06:25 Then Eddie Kingston singles match.
06:27 Yay!
06:28 He defended his New Japan Strong title against Healey Uta in a very decent bout.
06:32 Uta worked over Eddie's injured right arm from Stadium Stampede, but Kingston fought
06:36 through the pain to use that arm as a weapon and win.
06:39 Claudio helped Uta out afterwards, but never looked at Eddie in a show of disrespect.
06:43 The only MJF appearance was a clip backstage from All In where he went into full exposition
06:48 mode explaining the next three weeks of TV.
06:51 He's going to take this week off, then he'll defend the ROH tag team titles with Adam Cole
06:55 at All Out - their challenge is going to be decided with a Rampage Battle Royal - and
06:58 there's also going to be a Grand Slam Eliminator tournament where the winner faces Max at Arthur
07:02 Ash.
07:03 He did almost as much match promoing as Excalibur does before the main event.
07:06 Adam Cole then cut a live in-ring promo where he was talking about getting another title
07:10 shot in the future, where he was interrupted by Adam.
07:17 Jealous ex-boyfriend Roderick Strong.
07:18 Roddy was excellent here, moaning about how Adam doesn't care about his neck, but he
07:22 does care about MJFs.
07:24 In the Kingdoms, Mike Bennett and Matt Taven got a chance to shine, with Bennett getting
07:28 his own storytime speech, putting over their shared history and close personal friendship.
07:32 I thought for sure this was building to the Kingdom being Cole and Max's All Out tag
07:36 title contenders, but Rampage spoiler, it's the Dark Order.
07:40 What the f***.
07:41 Roddy then promised to enter the Grand Slam tournament so he can do what Adam couldn't
07:45 - beat MJF.
07:47 If Adam enters the tournament too, we could get a Roddy vs Cole match, which has a Wembley
07:51 Stadium full of storyline potential.
07:54 This could watch on as an increasingly more title obsessed Adam Cole beats up Strong,
07:58 despite him being a former best friend, and Strong's neck injury, mirroring MJF's
08:02 own fears of Adam turning on him.
08:05 It's time for the compulsory quarterpaste-a-second hour women's match!
08:08 We got the randomly assorted babyface team of Chris Statlander, Shida and Britt Baker
08:12 vs randomly assorted heel team Nailah Rose, Marina Shafir and Emi Sakura.
08:17 Baker and Shida argued after an accidental kick, and Statlander picked up the win in
08:21 some decent action.
08:22 Ruby Soho attacked Chris afterwards to build their TBS title match.
08:26 The women's division is more of an afterthought to Tony Khan than All Out.
08:30 And that's saying something, because although I love Shane Taylor, him vs Samoa Joe for
08:34 the ROH TV title at All Out only increases the pay-per-views B-Show feel.
08:39 At least Kenny Omega vs Tekeshta feels genuinely big time.
08:43 We got Don Callis doing a Ted Talk on all of Kenny's injuries - not just playing footage
08:46 of how they affect him, but showing x-rays of them too.
08:49 The Acclaimed unveiled one of the better custom belt designs you'll ever see, debuting hot
08:53 pink straps for the trio's belts, with straps that scissor to connect at the back.
08:58 And the main event saw Orange Cassidy vs Penta for the International title.
09:01 Initially I was down on this booking.
09:03 It's so predictable that Cassidy will retain, given how the press conference announced Cassidy
09:08 vs Mox are All Out first.
09:10 Also there's a real blood feud between Moxley and Penta, given that Moxley sent Penta's
09:15 brother Fenix off in an ambulance last week.
09:17 They could've had a No. 1 contenders match here, where Mox could get a strong win going
09:21 into All Out.
09:22 That said, this was an incredible main event.
09:25 So good, I actually bought into Penta winning the title at the end.
09:29 Penta catching Cassidy's dive in an overhead press, three back-to-back Canadian Destroyers,
09:34 and somehow, the near-fall of the week, Cassidy kicking out of an arm break and a fear factor
09:40 to roll up Penta to retain.
09:41 To close the show, Cassidy then cut a promo sitting on a steel chair in the ring.
09:46 He's tired.
09:47 He's beat up.
09:48 He's been defending this title on an almost weekly basis all year.
09:51 But that's the magic of AEW.
09:53 They give people like him, people who told they can't draw money, they're too skinny,
09:57 they're just a joke act, they don't look the part, a chance to succeed.
10:02 And in a somehow simultaneously badass, spine-tingling and humorous last line, referencing Moxley's
10:08 'oh no' catchphrase promo from earlier, Cassidy said "I'm freshly squeezed Orange
10:13 Cassidy and I do not have a catchphrase.
10:17 Put that on a t-shirt, I want to buy it right now."
10:20 It's been an incredible journey for what I thought in 2020 was a one-note joke character.
10:25 That Jericho feud where he actually puts in effort will be the end of him, I said.
10:29 The joke's over then.
10:30 And I suppose that was right in a way.
10:32 The joke did lessen, but it left what's a Orange Cassidy's core.
10:36 What makes him endure and work so well even four years into AEW?
10:41 He is a fantastic wrestler.
10:43 I can't think of many times where I've wanted a babyface to keep the title after
10:47 such a long reign, but this Sunday, I'll be rooting for Cassidy to retain.
10:52 An excellent episode for the International Championship.
10:55 Unfortunately AEW needed the big go-home show focus for multiple feuds to capitalise on
11:01 their All In momentum, and they really missed it.
11:04 After the best go-home show they've ever done last week, this week's Dynamite is
11:08 73%.
11:09 But it's payback this weekend, so go watch mine and Luke's three count predictions
11:13 for that WWE pay-per-view now!
11:31 (upbeat music)
