00:00 Welcome to the WrestleTalk News, I'm Pete Quinnell.
00:08 There's been a lot of talk online lately about Adam Copeland, aka Edge, joining AEW,
00:13 and we'll have more on that shortly, but there hasn't been much in the way of AEW
00:17 stars joining WWE, aside from like, Brian Pillman Jr. and that was a while ago.
00:22 However, that may now be about to change, as Fightful Select is reporting that Jade
00:26 Cargill is likely finished with All Elite Wrestling.
00:30 Cargill returned on last week's Collision episode, setting up a rematch with Chris Statlander,
00:35 which was made for this week's episode of Rampage.
00:37 As Rampage is taped, that match has now happened, and spoilers, Chris Statlander won to retain
00:42 her TBS title.
00:44 Select is reporting that Cargill specifically returned so she could put over Statlander
00:47 clean, and they also note that according to AEW sources, as things stand right now, Cargill
00:52 is finishing up with AEW with the September 13th taping being her last appearance.
00:57 But perhaps more interestingly is what she's doing next, as Fightful Select is reporting
01:01 that both AEW and WWE sources believe she's headed to WWE.
01:05 It's worth noting that there reportedly hasn't been an official offer as of yet,
01:09 and it's still unclear exactly how much time she has left on her AEW contract, but
01:14 the current wide rumour amongst WWE and AEW rosters is that Jade Cargill will be joining
01:20 WWE.
01:21 Jade is one of the only truly homegrown AEW talent, so this does feel like a major shift
01:26 for the promotion, but I personally am quite excited if we do get her in WWE.
01:30 For matches against Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley, Becky Lynch, Asuka, it all sounds quite delightful.
01:34 But there's also potentially more people going the other way too, as previously mentioned.
01:40 The big names currently rumoured to join AEW soon are Edge and Mercedes Monet, with Mercedes
01:45 even teasing it on X, posting the lyrics to Edge's theme song.
01:48 PWInsider had the latest on Edge, reporting that Adam Copeland had been removed from WWE's
01:54 internal roster list, which definitely lends some credence to him at least being done with
01:58 WWE at the very least.
02:00 However, they then provided an update, noting that he had actually been added back to the
02:04 roster list, but was now listed as "miscellaneous talent", which is where some wrestlers are
02:09 listed who are signed but not currently in use, including those who are injured too.
02:13 Sounds like they need to add Roman Reigns to that list, am I right guys?
02:17 Because he's not on TV very much.
02:20 Speaking of, speculation ran wild online recently as Roman Reigns was noticeably absent from
02:25 WWE's advertising of next year's Royal Rumble event, which was confirmed to be taking
02:29 place in Florida's Tropicana Field, leading some to think that Reigns may not be on the
02:34 show at all.
02:35 However, that is just speculation currently.
02:37 What's not speculation though is that the AEW All In London turnstile count has been
02:43 revealed.
02:44 Using the Freedom of Information Act, a request from a Mr. Ian M. Banders was sent to the
02:49 Brent Borough Council asking what their recorded attendance for the show was, Brent being the
02:54 borough where Wembley Stadium is located.
02:57 The Brent Borough Council then responded, noting that the turnstile count they had on
03:01 record was 72,265, which is reflective of the attendance on the night and not the total
03:08 number of tickets sold or no shows, etc.
03:10 AEW announced a paid attendance of 81,035, however the turnstile count for WWE's WrestleMania
03:17 32 according to WrestleNomics was 80,709, over 8,000 more than All In's, which does
03:24 cast some doubt over AEW's claim of the biggest wrestling show of all time.
03:28 It is still unclear which show actually sold more tickets as well, as All In could have
03:32 had a much bigger no show percentage, especially considering there were National Rail train
03:36 strikes on the day of the show, making travel especially difficult, so it still might be
03:41 the biggest wrestling show of all time, but that entirely depends on your definition of
03:45 it and whether you count tickets sold or the attendance on the night.
03:48 Very conclusive.
03:49 And now a word from today's sponsor.
03:54 I said and now a word from today's sponsor.
03:57 PKS What, PKS What?
03:58 Here we go.
03:59 I'm renaming the company.
04:00 Shocking news, never heard that one before.
04:02 Here's what I've got.
04:03 I think I'm caught in a time loop.
04:06 Mine is power.
04:07 It's WIP, it's a work in progress.
04:10 I think it's pretty much the finished article.
04:13 Undiluted solar plexus.
04:14 That's a USP.
04:16 Ok, how about energetic molecular toxicity.
04:20 EMTs.
04:21 I've got it, Pete.
04:23 Violet Prism Nodules.
04:24 I get it, VPN.
04:27 Surfshark VPN is an online tool that keeps you safe wherever you browse by masking your
04:31 important information - which means you can check sensitive stuff like your bank account
04:35 even on public WiFi.
04:38 Surfshark keeps your location and download history private and encrypted, meaning you
04:41 can send or receive files securely too, like my ongoing spreadsheet of three letter acronyms
04:46 for the company.
04:47 But on top of that, Surfshark also allows you access to any of 3,200 servers in over
04:53 100 countries - allowing you to fool your phone, laptop or tablet into thinking you're
04:58 in a different country - meaning you Americans can still get the old WWE Network.
05:04 I love you, superior search function!

05:23 three months for free.
05:25 It's Thursday, you know what that means.
05:28 My review of AEW Dynamite… in about 5 minutes.
05:32 But if you take those 5 minutes, along with my 33.3% chance of winning minus your 25%
05:38 chance, that means I've only got a minus negative 141.2% chance of completing it.
05:51 The Cincinnati, Ohio show opened cheering its bloodiest of sons.
05:55 Jon Moxley defending his International Championship against Large William Big Bill.
06:00 Big Bill might've had more random pairings than the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships.
06:04 He's been with The Firm, he's been with Brian Cage, he's been with Ricky Starks
06:08 this year alone.
06:09 But no matter who he's packaged with, he has been consistently fantastic as an arrogant
06:14 big man.
06:15 He and Moxley had a great opener, particularly in the final third with a Big Bill Bossman
06:19 Slam.
06:20 Moxley bleeding everywhere presumably because it's his hometown and he hadn't done
06:24 that for a while, and Brian Danielson brawling with Ricky Starks on the outside furthering
06:28 their feud.
06:29 Big Bill got cocky in all this, and Moxley caught his arm in a triangle choke for the
06:33 win.
06:34 Later on backstage, Danielson announced he and Claudio will take on Long Willie and Starks
06:38 on Collision, Mox will fight Fenix at Grand Slam, and Eddie Kingston also appeared purely
06:43 to give Claudio evils.
06:44 I've finally figured out what Don Callis and his paintings gimmick reminds me of.
06:48 No, not a giant penis.
06:50 The bad guy from Ghostbusters 2, VEGO.
06:54 Don cut an in-ring promo to announce Tekeshta's new nickname as the Alpha, and then declared
06:59 beating that useless cuck Kenny Omega twice isn't enough.
07:03 They're going to take what matters most to him next.
07:05 They're going to butcher Kota Ibushi.
07:09 Later on, Callis wanted some of that sweet Daniel Garcia dancing, yelling 'that's
07:13 money' at him backstage.
07:15 I think Garcia joining the family would be a great move.
07:18 The only bad thing on the show was the fatal four-way of Shida, Britt Baker, Nyla Rose
07:21 and Toni Storm to decide who fights Serea for the title next week.
07:25 Not because it was a bad match or anything.
07:27 Because it only went 7 minutes, three of which were in the commercial break.
07:31 Those couple of main event spots last month appeared to have only ever been lipstick service,
07:35 as AEW is once again treating its women's division as a total afterthought.
07:39 Orange Cassidy saw Hook's FTW title backstage and mournfully said how he used to have a
07:44 title, which genuinely made the crowd amigo.
07:47 I'm very interested to see where Cassidy goes next.
07:50 After falling out for the 163rd time last week, Les X Gods cut a respectful in-ring
07:55 promo together here.
07:56 Chris Jericho is proud of Sammy Guevara, having had picked him before AEW's launch, watching
08:01 him grow into a man.
08:03 While Sammy is thankful for the opportunity, but they're both aware he needs to become
08:06 more than Jericho's sidekick.
08:09 Next week at Grand Slam, he'll have a chance to do just that, where Sammy vowed to earn
08:13 Jericho's respect by beating him, even though Jericho is going to beat the living hell out
08:18 of him.
08:19 Then afterwards, I'll go to win the tag titles.
08:21 I've not been into their relationship for about two years now, but this was effectively
08:27 done.
08:28 Page vs Cage Episode 3 was probably the least best of their trilogy of matches, but it was
08:32 still awesome, with both guys having great chemistry together.
08:35 At one point, I thought they were working so stiff, Hangman's boobie did a Cody.
08:39 It's for the Adversa Titty.
08:41 Quiet Adversa Titty.
08:42 It was thankfully only Brian Cage's face paint that rubbed off him in a headlock.
08:47 Hangman not only overcame face paint Adversa Titty, he also worked through Swerve Strickland's
08:51 entrance music distraction, winning with a dead eye for a change.
08:55 Likely effectively setting up a better near fall spot when Swerve kicks out of that move
08:58 at WrestleDream.
08:59 Swerve, again, was excellent here.
09:02 He didn't come down and get involved, he just stood at the top of the ramp, not smiling
09:06 or cackling, but angry.
09:08 Just made him feel more powerful, not lifting a finger himself as Cage and Prince Narnar
09:13 beat down Hangman after the match.
09:15 The Young Bucks made the save, with Prince Narnar creating your next gif to use with
09:19 the caption 'Me saving up enough money for a house deposit.
09:22 Rising inflation costs behind you.'
09:24 We got a recap package of Jade Cargill returning on Collision to really rejuvenate AEW's
09:29 women's division for years to co-aw, awkward.
09:33 Darby Allin and Nick Wayne relatively easily dispatched 2.0 in a tag match, with a thumb
09:37 weighing moonsault to the outside, Darby coughing drop on the inside off the same turnbuckle
09:41 for the finish.
09:42 But like most Darby segments these days, it was all just a prelude to the next great Christian
09:47 promo.
09:48 Already out on commentary, Christian grabbed a mic and confessed he's been scrolling
09:51 through Nick Wayne's mum's Instagram account, and she doesn't post enough bikini pics.
09:55 He then challenged Darby and Sting for Grand Slam, but this time, with his real tag team
10:01 partner - which I got stupidly excited about because I thought he was going to say Edge,
10:05 but then of course he said… he said Luchasaurus.
10:12 The main event was the tournament final of Samoa Joe vs Roderick Strong, which AEW did
10:16 a great job building throughout the night.
10:18 Adam Cole had tried to warn Strong about how Joe injured his neck the first time around,
10:22 and Max cut a promo on both guys he'll potentially face next week, with Cole looking annoyed
10:27 while MJF ran down Strong.
10:28 But then jubilant as Max did one of the best, most seamlessly integrated Scott Steiner math
10:34 promos I've ever seen when he talked about Samoa Joe - playing it totally seriously rather
10:39 than overly wink wink.
10:41 My only criticism is that MJF said 'drastically go down', which is correct English, but
10:46 not correct Steiner.
10:48 That would be 'drastic go down'.
10:51 The actual match was a really well done heel vs heel dynamic, with Joe's badass awesomeness
10:56 getting babyface reactions.
10:57 The story and characters are so well developed here that heel vs heel gave the crowd many
11:02 more elements to be invested in beyond just 'boo this person' and 'cheer that guy'.
11:08 Taz was excellent on commentary too, not just explaining Joe's offence, which is very
11:12 similar to his old style, but also putting over Roddy's neck injury with his own history
11:16 of a broken neck.
11:17 Roddy got a nice near fall at the end off an Olympic slam, but this was more a decisive
11:21 victory for Joe, who made Strong tap in the Coquina Clutch.
11:25 Something was surely afoot, though, as there were then about 5 minutes still left until
11:29 the top of the hour - it was there for a very neatly done sequence of angles.
11:33 As soon as Roddy saw Adam Cole come down to check on him, he immediately fell to the floor
11:38 holding his neck, screaming 'ADAM' and had to be stretched to the back.
11:42 It was equal parts hilarious and really good storytelling for his and Cole's relationship.
11:47 Standing alone on the ramp, watching Roddy be wheeled out, Joe then made a surprise attack
11:52 on Cole, giving Joe vs MJF that extra bit of spice going into their title match next
11:57 week.
11:58 This was all done really effectively and succinctly told.
12:00 A very welcome four week build, as opposed to the usual three month elongated stories
12:05 we get because of AEW's pay-per-view cycle.
12:08 This was a very good, focused, go-home show for Grand Slam.
12:12 This week's Dynamite is 82%.
12:15 Now go watch me listing all the times wrestlers warned us about CM Punk.
