Got a nice little PR of 2 reps with 145.5lb today. Started out with 3,5X109lb then 3X120lb, 3X131lb, 2X145.5lb, 0X2X156.5lb, 0X173lb, 0X156.5lb.
After missing 156.5lb twice I went for a very heavy Isometric start by taking my Inch Dumbbell(173lb) and doing a lower, bounce and catch with it. I held the catch position trying to pull it over for a few seconds. This is an old technique from the 1930s/40s. I was hoping it would 'overexcite' the CNS and allow me to drop back down to 156.5lb and get it but, it was not meant to be.....
Still, I did get a small PR dumbbell and I will Praise the Lord for that!!
