00:05I could hear Tiffany's voice all the way from the living room.

00:09Within moments, the front door flew open and my two best friends came barging in.

00:16Carrie cheered loudly. She was holding a small red velvet cupcake with a single candle on top.

00:22Make a wish.

00:23Tiffany ordered, and I complied.

00:26I closed my eyes and made my little wish.

00:28Tonight will be my special night, I said in my head.

00:32When I opened my eyes and blew the candle, my two best friends clapped and roared happily.

00:38Aren't you guys being a little loud?

00:40It's only 10 a.m. in the morning, I said as I covered one ear my hand.

00:45Thankfully, my parents are both at work already. Otherwise, they'd say something too.

01:22So last night, my best friend suggested an impromptu road trip for today so could see Zach.

01:32We'd been dating for almost a year now, and I loved him to bits.

02:59I jumped to my feet and headed for my room.

05:03We loaded everything into my car,

05:23So Zach and I could be closer than ever till we reached the college area at half past six.

05:27We'd been driving for hours.

05:29My butt needed a rest from all that sitting down.

05:32I check with Zach, and he said he was having dinner with his freshman class.

05:36I didn't tell him I was driving down here.

05:37Of course, it's going to be a surprise.

05:39I could only imagine the look on his face when he sees me tonight,

05:45I was going to wait until Zach's finished with dinner,

05:51So Tiff suggested we should check out this bar called Puzzles.

05:54Puzzles was a lively bar,

05:56filled with college kids playing ping pong, darts, pool.

06:00And they even had a karaoke machine.

06:02Tiff, who is currently single AF, started talking to this college guy named Steve.

06:08Carrie had borrowed her big sister's ID,

06:10and she managed to get us all a round of beers.

06:13The atmosphere around me was an all-time high,

06:16and I couldn't help but get carried away.

06:18Carrie and I started dancing,

06:20and by the second round of beers,

06:22we were singing karaoke with a group of sorority girls.

06:25Two glasses of beer was a lot for me.

06:28I suddenly felt the strong urge to pee.

06:32and Carrie was busy talking to the sorority girls about campus life,

06:36so I headed for the bathroom alone.

06:40but the alcohol was getting to my motor skills.

07:29I had no idea why I said all of those things out loud.

07:32This was not how I normally talk to strangers.

07:35I blamed the alcohol.

07:37You're funny, he smirked.

07:39God, that's a sexy smirk.

07:41He was talking to some blonde girl with lips like Kylie Jenner,

07:45but he was leaving her hanging as he kept talking to me.

07:48The girl was starting to give me the stink eye.

07:50I realized it would be unwise if I continued to stand there and talk to him.

07:55Only God knew what else this unfiltered mouth would say.

07:58So I took a step away from him, but he was quick to stop me.

08:03Meanwhile, the girl behind him didn't look so pleased.

08:22I checked my phone to see if Zach was home yet.

08:24He told me he was still out and that he would be home in an hour.
