Cloud over northern and eastern parts of the UK will start to disappear as we head into the midnight period, before cloud then starts to increase from the west. This cloud will first affect western Scotland, where patchy rain is possible and Northern Ireland, before moving into western Wales and far southwest England by the early hours of the night. Breezy conditions likely in northwest Scotland also. A touch of frost possible in rural areas of central England where there are lighter winds and clear skies - This is the Met Office UK Weather forecast for the evening of 30/03/2025. Bringing you today’s weather forecast is Marco Petagna.

00:00Hello, here's your latest weather update from the Met Office. I'm Mark O'Britannia. We've
00:03got plenty of fine and settle weather in store across the UK during the week ahead, all thanks
00:08to high pressure dominating. High pressure is starting to pull away towards the east
00:11as we go through the week, drawing our air in from the south and south-east. Notice it's
00:14fairly warm, those orange colours indicating temperatures well above the seasonal average.
00:19The air also coming in from the east and south-east eventually is coming in off a fairly chilly
00:22sea, so some North Sea coast and some English Channel coast too, because sea temperature
00:26is a little bit suppressed. So the highest temperatures later in the week, more reserved
00:29for western and north-western parts of the UK. Looking at things though in more detail
00:33for the overnight period, the cloud we're seeing today towards the north and east of
00:37the country will tend to melt away, leaving a lot of clear weather across the bulk of
00:40the UK as we head into the overnight period. Although into the early hours, cloud will
00:44then increase across north-western spots, particularly across the north and west of
00:47Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland, bringing some patchy rain by Monday morning. The most
00:52likely area to see rain will be the northern and western isles there, and quite breezy
00:55here by the end of the night too. With that cloud, the breeze and the rain around towards
00:59the north-west, temperatures hold well above freezing, whereas towards the south and east
01:03of the UK, with lighter winds and clearer skies, certainly in rural spots, we'll see
01:07a touch of frost by the morning on Monday. Temperatures in some rural locations could
01:10get down to minus three or minus four Celsius.
01:14Heading through Monday then, and after that chilly start across the south and east of
01:17the UK, there'll be plenty of sunshine around, almost wall-to-wall sunshine in fact across
01:20parts of England and Wales. Always more in the way of cloud the further north and north-west
01:24you go. Again, the cloud thick enough, particularly towards the north and west of Scotland, to
01:28give some patchy rain at times, perhaps an isolated shower elsewhere across Northern
01:31Ireland and Scotland, but always the best of the sunshine even into the afternoon, reserved
01:35for the south-east of the UK.
01:37In the sunshine, and with fairly light winds across the south and south-east, it should
01:40feel quite warm out and about. Temperatures peaking at 16 or 17 Celsius, 17 in London
01:45there, 63 in Fahrenheit, whereas towards the north and north-west of the UK, always a bit
01:49cooler with that breeze and that cloud around. Temperatures here, low to mid-teens at best.
01:54As we head into Tuesday, we're likely to see quite a chilly start to the day, quite a lot
01:58of clear weather around, giving a patchy frost in places, but as we go through the
02:01day with that clear weather around, lots of sunshine to look forward to. Notice a bit
02:04more of a breeze blowing in from the east and south-east, which will take the edge off
02:07the temperatures, but nonetheless, quite a warm day to come in the sunshine. Temperatures
02:11again peaking around about 16 or 17 Celsius, 17 in Glasgow for example, and 63 in Fahrenheit.
02:17That's pretty much it for me, but of course you can keep tuned to the Met Office forecast
02:21by following us on social media and by subscribing to our YouTube channel. I'll see you soon,
02:25take care for now, bye bye.
