00:26by the contingents deployed in the fight against violence by criminal groups.
00:33Venezuela received displaced Colombians after clashes between the UN and dissidents of the
00:38FARC's 33rd Front in Catatumbo.
00:48Hello welcome from the south, I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Televisa Studios in Havana, Cuba.
00:53Let's begin with the news.
01:12More than 4,000 truckloads of humanitarian aid has begun to enter the Gaza Strip through
01:16the Rafah border crossing in Egypt.
01:18The United Nations Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East reported that the trucks are
01:23loaded with food, drinking water, medical supplies, hygiene products, and tents, while
01:28hundreds more remain in the border area awaiting authorization to cross.
01:32According to the truce agreement, some 600 trucks of aid are expected to enter Gaza daily,
01:37including 50 with fuel.
01:39On the other hand, Egyptian authorities have reportedly put on alert hospitals and medical
01:44teams to receive the wounded and sick coming from Gaza during the ceasefire.
02:01Meanwhile Gazans celebrate the agreement between Hamas and Israel, which came into force on
02:05Sunday after 15 months of Zionist genocide in the region.
02:09In the streets of the devastated city of Gaza, citizens have expressed their hope to move
02:13forward and that the Israeli troops will finally stop the bombardments.
02:17Gazans were also happy to be reunited with their relatives retained by the occupation
02:20troops in the framework of their illegal raids carried out since October 2023.
02:29However, despite the entry into force of the ceasefire in Gaza, the Israeli Prime Minister
02:37threatens to continue the aggressions.
02:39The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that the truce would not begin until
02:43he received the list of hostages to be released.
02:45Meanwhile, the Israeli army has continued its attacks, with a recent bombing that left
02:50at least three dead in Gaza.
02:52Meanwhile, Hamas has affirmed its commitment to the ceasefire, justifying the delay in
02:56handing over the names for technical reasons.
02:59The ceasefire agreement provides for an initial exchange of 33 Israeli hostages for 90 Palestinian
03:04prisoners, but the situation remains critical.
03:14An Israel unilaterally violated the ceasefire in Gaza and within minutes of its entry into
03:18force killed 12 Palestinians.
03:21In this sense, Israel used the delay with the list of hostages to be handed over by
03:25the Hamas resistance movement as an excuse for this new crime.
03:29In addition to the fatalities, the genocide government bombardment left more than 25 wounded,
03:34all of them civilians, returning to the ruins of their homes with the little they had.
03:39Minutes later, the Palestinian resistance reported that at 4 p.m. local time, three
03:43women held since October 7 will be released.
03:46They are Rumi Yonin, Emily Damare, and Doron Van.
03:56On Saturday night, Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel took to his ex-account to express
04:01his support for the people of Palestine.
04:03The president expressed, with Palestinian lights and symbols, the world is watching
04:08In the ceasefire in Gaza, all sensitive and peace-loving people are waiting for a serious
04:13commitment to end the attempt to exterminate a people which has been going on for more
04:18than 75 years.
04:25In other news, in Nigeria, more than 60 people were killed in an explosion that occurred
04:29after a fuel tanker overturned in Niger State.
04:32Authorities detailed that the accident occurred because the driver lost control of the transport
04:36vehicle to overturn.
04:37Also, part of the victims died in a subsequent explosion as a result of the rollover while
04:42they were on their way to pick up the spill fuel.
04:45It was also reported that the fire left an undetermined number of people injured as it
04:50reached vehicles, motorcycles, and stores that were near the place of the incident.
04:55State Governor Mohamed Umar Obago expressed his shock at the incident and conveyed his
05:00condolences to the families and friends of the victims.

05:29Welcome back.
05:30Haiti received another 217 police officers from Kenya despite the lack of results shown
05:34by the contingents deployed in the fight against violence by criminal groups.
05:38With the mediation of the United States, Canada, the Organization of American States, and the
05:42United Nations, more than four countries have sent security agents and weapons to the Caribbean
05:47nation.
05:48However, violent criminal groups continue to gain ground, especially in Port-au-Prince,
05:52the country's capital.
05:53With the addition of this contingent, the African nation exceeds 600 agents deployed
05:57in Haiti, while displacement, sexual violence, and hunger continue to increase.
06:08Venezuela received displaced Colombians after clashes between the ELN and dissidents of
06:13the FARC's 33rd Front in Catatumbo, north of Santander.
06:18The Venezuelan government expressed its solidarity with the people of Colombia and activated
06:21a mechanism to receive and assist those displaced by the violence of paramilitary armed groups.
06:27According to official information, the latest clashes have left at least 30 civilians dead,
06:31about 20 kidnapped, and thousands wounded.
06:34For the board, Colombia's vizier of foreign affairs, Luis Gilberto Murillo, has warned
06:38that the influx of Colombian citizens fleeing violence in the Catatumbo region to Venezuela
06:43could increase significantly in the coming hours.
06:53The regional authorities are there preparing.
06:55Sixty people have already arrived in some of these border towns, and it seems that the
06:58number is going to increase.
07:00UNHCR is already responding.
07:02The ambassador has already contacted them.
07:04I have instructed the ambassador to observe the situation and, if necessary, our consul
07:09in Venezuela to move to the area.
07:13In Ecuador, Juan Francisco Roman, Secretary General of the Republic, informed that Veronica
07:17Abad, Vice President of the country, will travel to Turkey as part of the diplomatic
07:21task assigned by President Daniel Nobuo.
07:24The Secretary General first stated that this measure was taken to ensure that there are
07:27no limitations on Abad's performance of her duties.
07:30Roman's decision to send the vice president to Turkey is a response to the consultation
07:35made by Abad regarding Executive Decree 490, which reinstated her in her position.
07:40In addition to this, it was learned that the executive will also be paid the unpaid salary
07:46since November 9, 2024, when she was suspended from her functions for 150 days.
07:53And in the interior of the state of Sao Paulo, the Landless Rural Workers' Movement held
08:00a demonstration to demand justice for the murder of its members.
08:04Details in the following report.
08:09The Landless Movement marches again, as it has done throughout its 40 years, to demand
08:14agrarian reform, life, and justice, in this case for the assassination of two farmers
08:20and leaders of the movement.
08:21Today, we are giving an answer to the violent people who assassinated workers who fight
08:28for the land, for nature, for agroecology.
08:31We are gathered here to demonstrate that together we will win this battle.
08:38Valder Nascimento and Gleison Barbosa were shot and killed by about 25 armed men on the
08:44night of Friday, January 9, during an invasion in the Olga Benario settlement.
08:49Two other people are still hospitalized in serious condition.
08:54We demand that their fight be present all the time, and the continuation of the fight
08:58they had in the pursuit of improvement, of quality of life, of a social project of solidarity,
09:04and the right to land, which is the right of all of us, the working class people.
09:11The movement held a seventh-day mass with various religious leaders to remember the
09:15victims.
09:20We have reference in some commitments with some peoples, and that gives us legitimacy
09:23to fight for the land together with some comrades, because they are different struggles, but
09:28they have only one objective, the conjunction of justice, peace, and love.
09:36The regularized settlement for agrarian reform is located near the urban area of the municipality
09:41of Tremem, in the interior of Sao Paulo.
09:44The movement assures that there are real estate interests behind the crime.
09:50That night, the partners of the Olga Benario settlement gathered to defend a lot that was
09:54being marketed in an irregular manner, given that in the agrarian reform and in the Institute
09:58of Agrarian Reform, the lots are not for commercialization.
10:03Agrarian reform land is public land and is not a commodity for sale.
10:12Delays in the institutions were the focus of criticism.
10:15The invasion against the settlement took place on an empty 5,000 square meter lot with access
10:20to the community's water source.
10:22In March 2013, the movement asked the Agrarian Reform Institute to allocate the land to landless
10:27families, but there were still no answers.
10:35Such barbaric violence, such violence is unacceptable.
10:38We were with the Supreme Court Judge Lewandowski and he committed to put federal police and
10:42intelligence into the farm violence programs to establish all the warnings against any
10:46threat and that that threat can be managed to prevent and give peace to those who fight
10:49for land reform.
10:52In addition, the movement assures that the scenario of conflict is being strengthened
11:01by speculation over the delivery of land titles within agrarian reform settlements.
11:06A measure implemented during the government of Jair Bolsonaro that reopens the delivery
11:10of territories to the market.
11:29In Paraguay, several fires have been raging for weeks.
11:32In the last few hours, the fire in Asunción, the country's capital, consumed more than
11:3640 hectares.
11:37Hundreds of families have been evacuated from houses near the Paraguay River in the Bahía
11:42Blanca area.
11:43There, the flames are advancing dangerously from a fire that, according to local authorities,
11:48has three sources of ignition.
11:50The fire, besides forcing the evacuation and affecting several firefighters, has spread
11:53to the Ecological Reserve Banco San Miguel due to the high temperatures and the changed
11:58wind direction.
12:00Authorities have confirmed that at least two people have been arrested for the incident,
12:04confirming also that it was intentionally provoked.

12:30Welcome back.
12:35In Italy, the health ministry warned that more than 1,400 cases of COVID-19 and 44 deaths
12:43from the disease have been reported.
12:45The Italian health ministry reported in its latest COVID-19 report that 54,973 tests for
12:52the presence of the coronavirus were carried out, a figure higher than the 42,025 carried
12:57out between January 2 and 8, but the positive rate fell from 3.7 to 2.7%.
13:03The Department of Health also said that 1,208 people are still hospitalized for COVID-19
13:09in general wards, while 39 are in intensive care.
13:17The Prime Minister of Hungary warned that Europe is approaching a new energy crisis
13:21due to the interruption of gas transit through Ukraine and the sanctions imposed by the United
13:25States on Russian oil and gas companies.
13:28According to Premier Viktor Orban, recent events in Europe's energy supply are alarming
13:33as Ukraine has blocked a pipeline supplying gas to Hungary while the U.S. administration
13:37has introduced sanctions that have driven up energy prices.
13:41In this regard, the actions have disrupted supplies to Austria, Italy and Central Europe,
13:46spurring regional efforts to minimize the impact.
13:54South Korea's President Jun Suk-kyo became the country's first sitting president to
13:58be formally arrested after a court issued a warrant Sunday to detain him for an extended
14:03period over his botched martial law bid last month.
14:07The court approved the arrest warrant, citing sufficient proof for the charges and the risk
14:12of evidence tampering.
14:13The decision means that investigators can keep Jun in custody for up to 20 days, including
14:18the days he has already spent at a detention center following his apprehension at his residence
14:23in Seoul.
14:24On Wednesday, the ruling led to violent protests by hundreds of angry supporters who stormed
14:30the court building, smashed windows and broke in with riot police trying to keep them at
14:34bay.
14:50In Russia, the Nutcracker has become a winter cultural phenomenon, standing out among Christmas
14:55and New Year traditions thanks to its music and plot.
14:59From Moscow, correspondent Oleg Janissinsky with the details.
15:06The ballet Nutcracker, with music by the great Russian composer Pyotr Tchaikovsky, has become
15:11one of the most important and traditional symbols of the New Year season in Russia.
15:16It is also a clear example of the symbiosis of Russian and universal culture, as the plot
15:20of Hoffman's fairy tale The Nutcracker and the Mouse King.
15:23The script of the ballet by Mariusz Petipa and the music of Tchaikovsky are united in
15:28one great work.
15:34We all dream of something.
15:36This ballet work is like dreaming of the beautiful.
15:39Well, maybe a prince, maybe something else.
15:42This is what we dream of when, being at home, it suddenly comes to life in front of us.
15:53We made great efforts over the past year to bring the riches of Russian opera and ballet
15:57classics back to the stage, both on the main stage and on the new stage.
16:08The Nutcracker premiered in December 1892 at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg.
16:14Its story has also unfolded at other famous theatres such as the Bolshoi in Moscow.
16:18There, several productions have been presented, each with its own unique interpretation, to
16:23become famous not only in Russia but all over the world.
16:31To begin with, the most wonderful thing is that it is an encounter with childhood, whether
16:35we like it or not.
16:36Anyway, when we were children, our mother once took us to a puppet theatre, a dramatic
16:39theatre or a ballet theatre, and we saw The Nutcracker somehow, or someone gave us a book,
16:44and also, of course, the music of Tchaikovsky.
16:46I am absolutely sure of this and nothing, and no one will ever be able to cancel out
16:50this wonderful music.
16:53Tchaikovsky's beautiful, bright and melodic music, the children's dance, the waltz, the
17:00adagio, as well as the traditional New Year atmosphere, are for the Russian spectator
17:05the hope of a miracle, a magical transformation, a renewal for the future.
17:14The ballet The Nutcracker is the most beautiful and magical thing that can happen to you before
17:18the New Year.
17:19And, of course, the production of Grigorevich, our outstanding choreographer, is amazing,
17:24fascinating every moment.
17:27The music is great, the experience is great.
17:32Vino Gradova and Ovcharenko danced.
17:35They are so beautiful and danced so well.
17:38I like ballet very much.
17:40Every time I see it, I enjoy it to the fullest.
17:48Modern adaptations for children often include simplified plots with interactive elements.
17:53Some theatres offer special explanatory or educational programs before the show so the
17:58children can learn more about ballet, music and history.
18:01After all, the main thing is to create an atmosphere of magic and inspiration that children
18:07will remember for years to come.
18:14Meanwhile in Denmark, the Roskilde Cathedral is a unique sample of the evolution of the
18:18country's architecture.
18:19Let's see.
18:20The Cathedral of Roskilde is an outstanding example of the first important ecclesiastic
18:29building located in the north of Europe and had a deep influence on the diffusion of brick.
18:35It is located on the island of Zeeland and is a large Gothic-style basilica with side
18:39aisles, twin spires and a semicircular gallery inside.
18:42It is situated on a small hill overlooking the Roskilde fjord, a narrow coastal sea inlet
18:48formed by glacial action.
18:50Around it, the structure of the medieval village is still visible, within which some period
18:54buildings and some beautiful houses from the 17th and 18th centuries are preserved.
18:59The cathedral dates back to 1170, and in the following centuries, chapels, porticos
19:04and other structures were added to the original Romanesque style.
19:07As a result, the cathedral has become a summary of the history of European architecture in
19:12a single building.
19:22The interior of the cathedral is 83 meters long.
19:25The three naves as a whole are 24 meters wide, and the choir vault is 25 meters above
19:31the floor.
19:32One of the treasures it houses is a Renaissance altarpiece of carved wood of high artistic
19:36quality.
19:37It was made in Amberes, Flanders around 1560.
19:40It is made of oak wood and almost completely covered with gold leaf.
19:46The organ has undergone several modifications and expansions, but there are also three other,
19:51somewhat smaller ones.
19:52The cathedral's royal monuments also commemorate an outstanding series of royal burials from
19:56the 10th century until the year 2000, when the most recent one took place.
20:00With only one exception since the Protestant Reformation, all Danish kings and queens have
20:05been buried in the cathedral, so their tombs also represent the evolution of monumental
20:09funerary art.
20:10The Roskilde Cathedral was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1995.
