00:00Let's go back to Panayam sa Pag-asa this rainy Monday, two days before the new year.

00:05We will talk to Pag-asa weather specialist, Chanel Dominguez.

00:09Good morning and welcome to Malitang Hali.

00:11Good morning to you too, Connie, and good morning to our viewers.

00:15What is the reason for the lack of time here in some parts of our country, particularly here in Metro Manila?

00:21As of now, we have three weather systems that are affecting our country.

00:26What happened to us earlier in Metro Manila is because of our shear line or the hot and cold wind.

00:35Our shear line is currently affecting the eastern sections of Central and Southern Luzon.

00:41We also have Intertropical Convergence Zone or ITCZ, which also brings rains here in Palawan, Visayas, and Mindanao.

00:49North-East Monsoon here in the main Northern Luzon.

00:52Tomorrow is the New Year's Eve. What is the time that we can expect?

00:56We can expect that it will still be like that.

00:59Three weather systems will still affect us.

01:02A large part of our country will still experience rains.

01:06For Metro Manila, we can expect that we will experience heavy rains

01:10up to heavy downpours with isolated rain showers

01:14and possible localized thunderstorms when it comes to the afternoon or evening.

01:18But this is not really a heavy rain.

01:21It's like when you want to have fireworks, right?

01:24They are sad, but those who are happy don't want fireworks, ma'am.

01:28Yes, it's not just temporary rains here in Metro Manila.

01:32But in other places like our countrymen in Visayas and Mindanao,

01:37ITCZ will still affect them.

01:40That's why we still expect continuous rains.

01:43Ma'am, aside from Metro Manila, what other places can we expect to experience

01:47heavy downpours and heavy downpours of rains?

01:50We can expect that here in Cagayan, Isabela, Aurora, Quezon, and Bicol Region,

01:55they will be affected by shearlines.

01:57We can still expect rains.

01:59When it comes to North-East Monsoon, our countrymen,

02:02it will also bring storms here in Cordillera, Administrative Region,

02:06and a large part of Cagayan Valley.

02:10And then Visayas, Caraga, we expect ITCZ,

02:14they will still expect rains.

02:17Two days before 2025, we don't see any LPAs around our country, ma'am.

02:29that can possibly affect our country.

02:32But in the new year, how many storms can we expect?
