00:00Let's update on the weather conditions in places where even without a storm,
00:03it experienced flooding and in places near Vulcan Canlaon.
00:08Let's talk to Assistant Weather Services Chief, Chris Perez.
00:12Good morning and welcome again to Balitang Hali.
00:15Good morning, Raffy, and to all of our viewers.
00:18Yes, there was no storm, but there were floods in some parts of the country
00:21such as Tagkawayan, Quezon, and Camarines in the north.
00:25How long will this last?
00:28That's right, Raffy.
00:29Now, there's a shear line affecting the northern part of the Central and Southern Luzon area.
00:35So, not only the places you mentioned,
00:38we're looking at the possibility of some parts of Isabela, Aurora, Quezon,
00:42and parts of Bicol Region
00:44that will continue to experience floods over the next 3 to 5 days.
00:49What are the chances of a storm in places near Vulcan Canlaon,
00:54especially if there's a storm in rain-induced areas?
00:58Well, for now, even though this is not affected by the shear line,
01:01we're still hoping that from time to time,
01:04the places near the Canlaon area will possibly experience rain.
01:08So, we're still looking at the weather-related events
01:13and continue to inform our countrymen,
01:16their LGUs, and local DRO officials
01:18for possible disaster preparedness and mitigation measures,
01:22not only here in the Canlaon area,
01:23but also in the areas affected by the shear line that we mentioned earlier.
01:28We're issuing a weather advisory for our countrymen
01:31to give them a forecast of rainfall in the affected areas of the shear line
01:36while our Visayas Regional Services Division
01:40is issuing a weather outlook for the Canlaon area.
01:44You can also go to your website.
01:46Here in Metro Manila,
01:47until when will you experience the cold and rainy weather
01:50now that there are a lot of people shopping?
01:53It's possible that within the next 24 hours,
01:57it will still be cold in most parts of Metro Manila
02:00and we'll experience light rains.
02:02But this coming weekend,
02:03we're hoping that the weather will gradually improve here in Metro Manila.
02:07That's good news.
02:08How many more typhoons are possible to enter the PAR before the year ends?
02:13We're looking at either one or two typhoons
02:17that we can monitor before the year 2024 ends.
02:20Do we have any information?
02:23Usually, in December, typhoons enter the Philippines.
02:27Will that be determined by now?
02:30Well, for now,
02:31climatologically speaking,
02:32the typhoons during the last quarter of the year
02:35are really high in their category.
02:37They can reach the typhoon or super typhoon category.
02:40And usually,
02:41even if it doesn't always happen inside the PAR,
02:43in the coastal areas of our country,
02:46and if it does,
02:49there's a chance that it will land,
02:50especially here in the central and southern zone area,
02:53Visayas and Mindanao.
02:55That's why we'll continue to monitor the events in the Pacific.
02:58Although next week,
02:59we're hoping that there will be a chance that the typhoon will be complete,
03:03we'll continue to give updates
03:05if there will be a change in our forecast scenario next week.
03:09So you should prepare early.
03:10Thank you very much for your time this afternoon.
03:13Thank you very much. Have a good day.
03:15And now for Assistant Weather Services Chief, Chris Perez.
