00:00The final stretch run. Week 15. Everyone's had buys. There's four games to go in the NFL season.
00:09Four games to the playoffs. Payday is upon us, which for this week will start, as always, on Thursday night.
00:16We'll have the Rams and the 49ers, both teams trying to stay in the mix for that division title.
00:23Let's start with Kyle Shanahan, who is, of course, all business. We're all business,
00:28now that we actually won a game this week. We're very all business getting ready for the Rams on Thursday.
00:32Last week felt like the playoffs already. Since that Buffalo game, every week is a playoff game.
00:38It feels like it this week and hopefully we can take care of business so next week feels the same.
00:43We're all business. You tell me, Garber. Let's look at it realistically.
00:50Do you think they have a chance, if they run the tables, to get a playoff spot, a wild card?
01:00Because they're not winning the West. That's not happening.
01:05Well, look. I mean, I don't know. I wouldn't say. If they ran the table, I think they could win the West.
01:11If they finished, if they ran the table, they'd go 10 and 7. I think that could get it done.
01:18I don't know. Seattle's got eight wins right now. I don't know if Seattle's going to win
01:22three more games. They got a pretty tough schedule over the last four weeks, Seattle.
01:26So I think if the Niners ran the table, they'd be in the mix to win that division.
01:30So you think they're going to go 10 and 7. They're going to run the tables the rest of the way?
01:35I don't think they're going to do that. If they did it, they would have a chance.
01:39I think that they have a couple of very tricky games here.
01:41The Lions and Cardinals.
01:44Right. Now, look. I think they could beat the Cardinals the last year.
01:47The Lion game is the one that sticks out to you. That's obviously a very tough game.
01:53Now, the game is in San Francisco, but the Lions are a lot better than them this year.
02:00They just are. The Lions are a lot better than the 49ers. So I think they would have to win
02:04all four of their games to have a chance to win this division. But they're going to try to get
02:09a start on it, obviously, tomorrow night against the Rams and at least get themselves back to 7-7.
02:16Let's hear from Debo here. Or not really hear from him because he doesn't really say much.
02:21He put a tweet out the other night that he's not getting the ball. So this is a wide receiver.
02:30This is like a tale as old as time when it comes to wide receivers.
02:35He tweeted, not struggling at all, just not getting the ball. That was his response to
02:40somebody saying that he was struggling. Here was all the reporters trying to ask him about that tweet.
02:46You had a twerp that got a lot of attention yesterday.
02:51He looks like he just robbed our house.
02:56I mean, you read what you read. A little press said it for sure.
03:00Colin Brock said that you guys talk just about daily. Is getting touches and things like that
03:04something that's discussed during those conversations? Oh yeah, 100%.
03:08Do you see that? Do you sense that? I mean, as soon as you get the ball that there's like three
03:12or four guys out there on the perimeter. I mean, there's three or four guys, no matter who got the
03:17ball. It's not expected to come back around for you, right? In terms of when it comes, it's gone.
03:27That's like, I guess, another wide receiver thing, right? Didn't Neighbors do that a couple
03:30weeks ago? Neighbors was doing the gum when they were interviewing him. I actually like Neighbors,
03:37Samuel, Rick Hill. I like Pickens. I like guys that know how good they are. Chase,
03:46they know how good they are and they're not afraid to say it and be interviewed. And you know,
03:51it's great. The difference between this guy and Micah Parsons is that Parsons never shuts the F
03:59up. Blame me all you want. I know I never shut the F up either, but I'm not getting paid hundreds
04:04of millions to play in the NFL. Here's the deal. That guy said very few words, but they spoke volumes.
04:11The interview, he's like, yeah, uh-huh. That's right. It's that way every day. And he's like
04:19chewing the gum, like just driving people nuts. He did more with less than Parsons ever did once
04:26in his entire career in Dallas with his blabber mouth of nothingness.
04:32It is funny. It's like, it's always the wide receivers who always say, there is amazing that
04:37that's the, that those are the guys that always end up, they make a lot of money and they make
04:43big plays. And that's why they go ahead and do that. We will come, score totties. And that's
04:50what it's all about. We will come back and hear from Stafford. I'll give you the numbers for that
04:54game. And then we will get into, uh, Mike Tomlin for this week, our Wednesday, Mike Tomlin visit
05:00as he talks about the Eagles and the Steelers coming up on Sunday. Rub that in my face. I want
05:08nothing more than an outright win by the Steelers at the link. They just put the injury report out
05:14for this game for tomorrow night. Uh, just now, uh, Trent Williams out again, uh, on the Niners
05:20offensive line. He hasn't played in weeks. They do have Bosa as questionable. So it's possible
05:26you might have both out there, uh, against the Rams and you're going to need it. Cause as you
05:30said, the Ram offense has been clicking lately cup and Puka shells, both having huge games every week.
05:36Stafford has been going off. They have been winning games. Some of them crazy. Some of them
05:41close Stafford says, uh, we need to continue to do that and take care of the Niners on Thursday,
05:46a bunch of professionals, right? Um, no matter what the circumstances in the game or the season
05:51at any point got to show up, go to work, be ready to fight battle, try to come away with the wind.
05:55Um, we've been able to do that. Um, you know, a few times we'd love to have less adversity and,
05:59and, um, you know, win them all, but that's not the case. So, um, it's another big challenge this
06:04week on a short week, getting ready to play really physical, good football team that played
06:08really well last week as well. So, um, it'll be a big challenge for us. I think the edge goes to
06:13the Niners. I know they're decimated, but they still kick the bear's ass and they're playing at
06:18stonewashed denim jeans. Uh, they're tough there. Uh, we certainly know what they're capable of and
06:24they know Shanahan and company. No Purdy. They all know they have to win these games. They got
06:30to beat the Rams. They got to beat the dolphins. Then they'd have eight wins and then they could
06:37lose to the lions and beat the Cardinals in the toaster in Glendale to end it. And they'd have
06:43nine wins. And I think that's where they're going to end up. I don't think they're winning 10 games.
06:49I don't think they're winning 10 games either. I do think like you, that they are going to win,
06:52uh, tomorrow night. Uh, I think that it's a tough spot for the Rams off of a win on Sunday. They're
06:57going there. Uh, they beat the Niners at so far earlier this season. Uh, I think that this is
07:03going to end up being a split between the two. It was two and a half yesterday. It's three today.
07:08So a flat three for the Niners at home and a big 49 and a half. I gotta tell you, I, I think this
07:14game's, uh, way under, uh, 49 and a half tomorrow night. I don't, I know the Rams have been playing
07:19some, some crazier games. I don't see it, uh, here. I think the Niners are gonna, uh, try to
07:25grind this game down. I mean, they're on the fifth, sixth running back. Uh, I think they're
07:30going to try to win this one in a very sloppy game, 20 to 14, something like that. I bet it.
07:35And the two and a half yesterday, I didn't wait for it to flip to three.
07:40Yeah. Uh, it's a nice job there with the two and a half. Cause like you said, you're going to three
07:44today. So the Niners and the Rams will of course do a little bit more tomorrow. Uh, week 15 will
07:48get underway in the NFL. Let's start the Tomlin stuff. Cause I got a couple for you today from
07:55Tomlin as the Eagles and the Steelers, uh, the state championship of Pennsylvania as Mike Tomlin,
08:02uh, would also like to let you know that it is here. It is from Mike now on to the Philadelphia
08:10Eagles. Man really excited about this one, man, this Pennsylvania state championship,
08:15uh, excited about representing Whippeal. Uh, I was just joking this morning, man,
08:20we could play this game, uh, in Breezewood, man. That'd be awesome.
08:25See what I mean?
08:28Up in Pittsburgh. Uh, my high school went for, uh, Whippeal state championships in a row.
08:35When I was there, a gigantic high school and, uh, AstroTurf football field, the whole deal,
08:41Mount Lebanon, the blue devils, they meant business in football, believe me, you
08:46and nothing else, but they were great in football. The Whippeals always fantastic football,
08:51the Western Pennsylvania, uh, high school football scene is just some of the greatest
08:57players in NFL history have come out of there. Now, for those who don't know, uh, Pennsylvania
09:03geography, uh, as well, uh, where would Breezewood be, uh, in, in relation to all of this?
09:09Breezewood is in Eastern, uh, Pennsylvania. So if you drive to, uh, Philadelphia from Pittsburgh,
09:16you go on the Pennsylvania turnpike and you end up outside, well outside of Philadelphia,
09:23like at least an hour or more, hour and a half more, you go to, uh, Breezewood is next. And
09:29Breezewood is a place with a hundred fast food restaurants and a hundred gas stations. And that's
09:35it. There you go. Uh, Breezewood right in the middle. Uh, that's, uh, there's a lot,
09:42lot of good football in that state, as you mentioned. Uh, so not easy, uh, there in the
09:46state of Pennsylvania for football supremacy, the Eagles and the Steelers though on the NFL level
09:52will play for it on Sunday. It's been better, Mike, the West, the Western Pennsylvania, uh,
09:58athletic, the high school football has been the superior side of the state is Pennsylvania. When
10:05it comes to high school football, Philadelphia has never been like Pittsburgh has been.
10:11I've got one more for Mike Tomlin for you. Of course, Sunday begins
10:15a very difficult stretch for the Steelers. They are going to play three games over 11 days
10:20against the Eagles, Ravens and chiefs. Uh, not going to be easy, but as you know, uh, Mike Tomlin,
10:26you don't want to hear, uh, excuses or anything like that. They got ball to play. That's it.
10:32I'm really just focused on Philadelphia. I don't care what's on the other side of it.
10:36Does it affect your approach to practice workload, division of labor,
10:40things like that, knowing that there's a, this is the start to a stretch like that.
10:44It may affect it on the other side of Philadelphia, but I have a seven day cycle
10:48this week. And so I'm not going to make the simple complex. Uh, we got a task this week.
10:53We got a job to do. We got a finite amount of time and materials and talent and manpower,
10:58um, as do they. And so with that in mind, we're going to prepare and focus our energies on winning
11:04this game. There's so many variables that could affect the preparation process on the other side
11:10of this game. Uh, the attrition component and so forth that is, is, is fruitless and almost a waste
11:16of time to get beyond the template component. Certainly I have a calendar and a template,
11:21uh, but that is, that is not have my time or attention. Uh, the Philadelphia Eagles do.
11:28I mean, this guy, he's got unbelievable. I mean, he drives with a Taurus planning his, uh,
11:38that's good for Mike. Uh, the Steelers could, Steelers could clinch a playoff spot if they win
11:43this week. Uh, they can clinch the AFC North with wins, uh, this weekend, next week against the
11:49Ravens. So getting closer to, uh, getting some of those check marks next to their name in the
11:54standings. When you go and look Jalen hurts since the buy, uh, nine and Oh, third and passer rating
12:01fourth and yards per completion. First and quarterback rushing yards, 23 total touchdowns.
12:06That's first in the NFL. And he's only thrown one. I N T during that stretch, uh, for Jalen hurts,
12:14but, uh, they don't, uh, they're like, I think John told you there are 31st in the NFL and passing
12:20their offense is 31st, uh, in the league. Uh, so they will try to get it done. Yes.
12:26Wait a minute. Go through this again. They're nine and Oh, since about he's third and passer
12:30rating fourth and yards per completion. First and quarterback rushing yards, 23 total TVs,
12:36first in the NFL. And he's thrown one pick and they think he sucks in Philadelphia.
12:44How effing stupid are these people? I mean, honestly, those numbers, I said it to,
12:51I said it to John, his numbers are staggering for a guy that sucks. I have never seen anything like
12:57it. This guy doesn't suck, but I will tell you this despite those numbers.
13:04I think Russell Wilson is playing better than Jalen hurts. Hands down. Do you,
13:08um, well that yeah, playing better right now. Uh, I would say yes. When you, the conversation
13:18before was kind of like, uh, who would you want as your quarterback? Uh, I think I'd probably
13:24pick hurts, but who's playing better right now. That's a different question. I think Wilson is
13:29playing better than him right now. Passing wise now hurts as a different element than a lot of
13:34guys. Cause you know, like we said, there's 23 touchdowns, I think, uh, 13 or 14 of those are
13:40rushing. Uh, you know, he's a lot of the, a lot of rushing touchdowns for him, a lot on the feet,
13:45uh, for Jalen hurts. So that has to factor into guys like Hertz and Lamar and Alan,
13:50you know, you put different, uh, icing on the cake with them because they're also runners.
13:54I want to see the Steelers stop the church push. Well, that would be cool to see. Uh, not many
14:01teams have been good at stopping that. Uh, and hopefully this, the, uh, Steelers can do that
14:06line is not moved. I think we're rare where we have said we are going to be. And that's what
14:10the Steelers, uh, getting the five and a half. And I like this over to, uh, 42 and a half. I
14:15think we'll get some points. Yeah. I like the Steelers and I'm with you on that too. Uh, the
14:22over, why not? But look, you know, that's, you know what, I'm going to back off of that. I still
14:28think that these two teams play great defense and that this game could be an under, I still
14:34think it could be an under, cause it could be a war of attrition. They both are so good defensively.
14:40I'm I'm tempted to lean under, but the, and what'd you say the number's at 42 and a half.
14:47That's a very low number. Very low teams that have won as many games. They've,
14:52they won nine in a row and the Steelers have won 10 games. I mean, come on. These are two great
14:57teams that score a lot. And the number is 42 and a half that, that screens under to me that it's
15:02going to be a war that this game is going to be like, uh, you know, 1916 type game. I don't,
15:10you know, something 2119. I mean, literally, I, you know, I think you look to the game. I think
15:18they can win the game. I think all you got to do is look to what two weeks ago, uh, the Eagle
15:24Raven game, right? I mean, that game had a very big total that ended up being a lower scoring
15:30type of game. Uh, the Eagle defense was able to hold the Ravens down. You know, I, I think that
15:35that's kind of the game maybe that you're looking at, uh, this week also for the Eagles and the
15:39Steelers. Very possible for that. Uh, Cam Hayward now the leading vote getter, by the way, for the
15:44defensive tackle spot at the pro bowl passing Quinn and Williams of the jets. Uh, he also has
15:50like a ridiculous numbers. Cam Hayward this year, uh, old man is Tomlin calls them old man. Uh,
15:56as well, like literally, can I just look really quick? Well, I just, I want to see what the
16:01weather is supposed to be like. Uh, do you know? So, uh, oh, it's going to be cold as hell. Well,
16:08I guess 40 is not bad. 40 degrees is not bad to me. That's nothing for a high. That's a day game
16:15a day game in four 25. So it's not going to be 45. It's going to be like, it'd probably be 34
16:22degrees kickoff. It would have been like today, like today was 60 degrees in New York city.
16:28I would have gone to that game at the link in Philly if it's cause they're saying, uh, it's
16:33not going to rain Sunday that I still might go to the game. It's still my car. It's I mean, listen,
16:39the sun's going to obviously be down at kickoff or just about to be down at four 25. It's going
16:43to be in the thirties. You know, it's a, a lot will depend on how much wind is going to be out
16:47there, which as of now they say not much, but mid thirties and clear, you're going to get a nice,
16:54nice, fast track for the Eagles and the Steelers possibly coming up. I might just go, I might do
16:59it. Like I'm crazy. Go to the game, go to the game. You might as well go. What's the, what's
17:06the problem? Just go see the game. That's all that matters. Uh, we'll come back to Bill's games
17:12telling me I go to games a year. I know I can't, uh, I can't do that kind of travel. I don't have,
17:19I just don't have the resources to go up a couple of times. They are, they are a problem. We'll
17:27talk about it. They don't stop. They don't stop. Uh, the lions and the bills. I have a few numbers
17:36for this game. You and Morenci were talking about it earlier. Uh, the total, the highest total in
17:40the NFL so far this season, 54 and a half, the under hits at 64% in games with totals of 50 or
17:49more the past three years. So the past three years when the total is 50 or more for the most part,
17:54they've been staying under. I know it's a very heavy numbers guy, but I, I don't see it this
18:00week. I think that, uh, this is going to be one of these crazy 38, 35, like the lions played with
18:07the Packers last week. Like the, like the bills played with the Rams. Like I think it's going to
18:11be an up and down game. It's on national television for a reason. They wouldn't drop the game to flex
18:18it or anything else for a reason. It's going to be a track meet. That's all there is to it. I think
18:22the slugfest will be the Eagle Steelers and that the high scoring affair will be the bills lines.
18:28And everyone thinks that the lions and bills are meeting in the super bowl. I'm sure the
18:32Kansas city chiefs are laughing at all the talk about how they're finished and their demise and
18:39everything else. And I've said it too. I think they're going down, but they never lose.
18:44They never lose. Uh, they just, they just never do. Uh, and, and you're right. They
18:48do laugh at this stuff. Uh, they laugh at everybody. I think people are pumping that
18:52matchup up because of, uh, you know, there are two teams that have never won it.
18:57It would be, uh, you would get something fresh, something different if it was the
19:01lions and the bills in the super bowl. I think that that's why people, it never works out something
19:06blue. It never, it never, it never works out this way. The matchup everyone dreams of all year. Oh,
19:14we got to get this in the super bowl. It never happens. Something gets screwed up along the way.
19:18And usually the chiefs are the team that are there to screw it up for everyone. Uh, that's usually
19:23the ones that go ahead and then they ruin everybody. Um, Allen's two and O against golf.
19:29Uh, but the, uh, Allen's never been an underdog in the matchup, whatever. That's two games.
19:33Isn't enough for me, uh, to get very excited about, but I will say this did go from one and
19:38a half yesterday to now two and a half. So lions minus two and a half against the bills.
19:43Uh, it's gone up a point. Yeah, look, I mean, this game is, uh, look, it was 44, 42 Rams, right? So
19:53two and a hug is dangerous, but I'm still leaning lions at Ford field to win this game and cover by
19:59at least a field goal. Uh, I could see Bates kicking one. Uh, I just think the, you know,
20:05the lions are a lot like the chief. They don't lose. They always find a way to win. And this
20:10guy takes all these risks and they keep, um, you know, he keeps hitting on the craps table.
20:16I'll say that much about him. He certainly does, uh, keep doing that. Uh, and eventually that does
20:22run out. Uh, the chiefs are going to be in Cleveland this week. I told you yesterday,
20:27and I got the exact numbers for it. Chiefs have not covered their last seven games.
20:33They are own seven against the spread their last seven times out. No team that has ever had,
20:39uh, six or more games, uh, in a row, not covered in a regular season has ever won the super bowl.
20:45Uh, and they are in Cleveland. I know I was, maybe it was just that I was in the city, uh,
20:49yesterday and then what the party was happening. I, I told you that I think, uh, the Browns are
20:54going to beat the chiefs on Sunday in Cleveland. And after a night of sleep and thinking about it
21:00a little bit more, I believe it even more, they are going to beat the chiefs on Sunday in Cleveland.
21:07What do you think about that? They are the luck runs out this week. I bet, you know,
21:12Jamis has been fine. I know he's going to probably throw him one or two. He always does,
21:16but I just feel like the Browns are going to be in this game this week and they're going to have
21:21a chance to win it. They're going to have a shot. I hope you're right. And I, you know,
21:26I think that, uh, Jamis and Judy would have to have a huge day and I don't believe it. I hope
21:31you're right. I will root for you, but you know how much I hate the chiefs Christ. I'll root for
21:36you all day. And in fact, I'll help make the bet, but I am not believing that for one minute,
21:42they suck. And like Pickens was right. The Browns suck. And the Steelers kicked their ass.
21:46Don't tell me the chiefs aren't beating them, but I'm with you. I hope they do it.
21:51I, I, you know what? One of these weeks, the ball's going to bounce the other way for Kansas
21:58city. Speaking of, uh, speaking of that, uh, Tommy cutlets back in the mix for the G man,
22:05G man, G man, big blue on Sunday, drew lock has an ankle injury. His foot's in a walking boot.
22:11He's not going to be playing. So this, how about this? This was 14 and a half yesterday
22:17after the Tommy cutlets news today, the giants are now getting 16 and a half at home against
22:26the Ravens. That's right. 16 and a half since 2003 home underdogs of 10 or more points are 75,
22:3255 and one 58%. 16 and a half is a very big number. That's a lot of gas, man.
22:42Take it back. I will not bet on the New York, uh, giants and 16 and a half points against the
22:48Ravens. I told you yesterday, I wouldn't bet on the game at all. I'm going back to that. I want
22:52no part of it. First of all, I hate the Ravens. I'm not betting on them. And, uh, I'm not betting
22:59on the giants cause they suck last year. They got 17 points in a game of scalpers gave up 50 points.
23:06So they are awful. And I mean, they are so awful. They can't even kick a 20 yard field goal.
23:12I think they have to get rid of Dable. I honestly, like it, this has been two years
23:18running of just disastrous football, like to the point where they can't even kick a field goal.
23:23This guy was so bad that at one point he went into a game with no field goal kicker.
23:30And like, that was the dumbest thing I think I've ever seen. The guy was injured. He didn't have a
23:35kicker. He had like a punter out there kicking field goals. They have gotten so bad that they
23:41can't even take a field goal from 20 yards out to tie a game at home in front of their fans are
23:47suffering. They're wearing bags on their heads now, along with jet fans. It's embarrassing.
23:54How long are you going to let this go on? Now? I have heard that they're going to keep this guy.
23:59If they draft this quarterback that they want, they're going to let Shane and Dable keep going
24:04with a quarterback. Let me tell you something. This team has way bigger problems than just the
24:10quarterback. That's problem. One of many I'm talking, they got 25. You know what? They got
24:1699 problems and a B is one. They got 99 problems. That football team just getting Cam Ward or
24:24Sanders will not cure that football team. Whoever gets that job at quarterback in the draft. He's
24:30dead meat, dead meat. That kid is going to be dead meat. He is. You think Caleb Williams took
24:37a beating in Chicago? The guy in New York has asked. It's almost like they play without an
24:43offensive line. They'll snap the ball to him and let everyone kill it. Smear the cue. You know
24:49what I'm talking about? So that guy's dead meat. Whoever gets that job is dead meat.
24:54Finished is what they'll be finished. That's what usually happens with their first year.
25:04Go to a bad spot. You get bad results. Unfortunately, that's what the Giants have become.
25:09A bad spot. Here's what the playoffs would be if the season ended today. Of course, it doesn't end
25:14today, but this is who would be facing off. If the playoffs ended today with a few weeks to go,
25:21you would get Bill's Broncos, Steelers and the Chargers at the place the Steelers play,
25:27and the Texans would play the Ravens. Meanwhile, the Eagles would play Washington, Seattle and
25:32Green Bay, who do play each other this Sunday night, and Tampa and Minnesota in the other game.
25:37Chiefs and the Lions would have the buys right now. I believe you also have the playoff picture,
25:42the whole thing, in both the AFC and the NFC. Great job. No wonder people think the Ravens
25:48are going to win because they're playing the Texans, who are so average this year,
25:52it's not even funny. The Steelers, who have played way better than the Ravens and beat the Ravens
25:57and get to play them in Baltimore to prove it again, they're going to have to play Herbert
26:01and the Chargers, who are better than the Texans and the Ravens. So their reward for being the
26:06three or the two is to play the Chargers. My ass. I still think Minnesota, I'm going to say,
26:12because look, I think they're overrated, 11-2, overrated, whatever it is. I still,
26:19I'm going to take back what I said. I think they can beat Tampa in a game in Minneapolis
26:24in the playoffs, but they're not going further than that. Paper Tiger is what I would call them.
26:30Paper Tiger, the Minnesota Vikings. There are some teams still in it. I think we have the playoff
26:36picture in both. There's the AFC. The Colts, Dolphins, and Bengals are still alive with four
26:44weeks to go. Now, they have a lot of scenarios. Now, the Colts play the Broncos this week,
26:49Scottie. So that's actually, you know, if the Colts do actually have some hope to still be in
26:55this thing, that game is in Denver. So that makes it very tough. But if they ever won,
27:02they'd be one back of them with a win over them head-to-head. I saw all the Bengal people this
27:07morning doing all the math. They got to win all four games, and Denver's got to lose three games,
27:13and this team's got to lose two games. And when you got to name that much stuff to happen for
27:19your team to get in the playoffs, the team's not getting in. Let's see if the January commitment
27:23to the Steelers finish them off in Pittsburgh. They'll be finished before that. On the NFC side,
27:29there are obviously a lot more teams that are still involved because you have those two
27:34divisions that are very much up for grabs. So you see the Rams, the Falcons, the Cardinals, the Niners.
27:39The NFC West teams are there because they are all within striking range of Seattle to win the NFC
27:45West. I still don't believe any of those outsiders are getting in. Maybe, maybe the Rams.
