00:00Sports Injury Central for your betting for Sunday pain day in the NFL, then you're well
00:10an idiot. You need to be on SIC. I'm telling you, it's good for your health. It's time
00:17for Dr. Chewbacca, everyone's favorite on a pain free Friday. It's Dr. David Chow from
00:22SIC and you can follow him on X at pro football doc. So good to see you, Dr. Chewbacca. Let's
00:29start with Dax Hammy. Is it going to be four weeks or more? More. Take the over. I wish
00:36we could. I wish we could bet injury timelines more. He might even need surgery. He can't
00:43and that's Dallas's record at that point in week 16, 17 or whatever it is. I say more
00:51than four weeks. And what about it's a hamstring tendon injury, not hamstring muscle. And that's
00:56the distinction. Wow. What about Parsons? Mika Parsons. I mean, he's, this is the week
01:04he returns, you know, the big divisional game, how well he plays is the question, but this
01:08is the week he returns. So you were surprised Lawrence is likely out this week with a shoulder
01:13injury since he finished the game, both running backs and a bunch of wide receivers were limited
01:18for them this week. What kind of a walking wounded are they going into that game with?
01:24Well, that's really interesting. He got hurt in the first half. It was a big hit on the
01:28left shoulder and he finished the game. And then all the talk, it's media talk. He still
01:34said it's questionable. The media talk is that he's, you know, out and they even talked
01:39about surgery. There's some mystery here. Is there a mystery injury that we didn't see?
01:43Is there a hairline fracture? Is there a bad something else that we didn't see? It is his
01:47non-throwing shoulder, but, or is this just his shoulder is hurt and the Jacksonville
01:53tank is on for a better draft pick because he's still their longterm asset. I don't know.
01:59Wow. Uh, how slowly do you think the Niners are going to work McCaffrey into the mix?
02:06Well, I mean, we have them at six score 65, not because his health is 65. We just don't
02:11think he's going to get all snaps. Look, it's not just the Achilles. He's fine from the Achilles,
02:16but he's in preseason form. If you run them out, there are 70 plays and now he gets a hamstring
02:22all heck breaks loose. Right? So 49ers will play the long game. Now remember,
02:27Jordan Mason's AC joint after the body should be healthy. So maybe he's the first and second
02:32down running back and CMC is the third down back as they work him back in his health is good,
02:38but they're going to be careful with him. I mean, they have to, because he's their best
02:42player. And when he plays, they win. And when he doesn't play, they don't, uh, the whole bills
02:47wide receiver room was limited this week and didn't practice on Thursday.
02:51Will it just be a tight end day for Josh Allen in Indy?
02:57Well, tight end day and Josh Allen legs running is, is not a bad combination there, obviously,
03:03but, uh, uh, Keon Coleman likely is out Shakir still there. So he can still catch for the prop
03:09players out there. Shakir is still there. A Marty Cooper is questionable with his wrist as well.
03:15Eagles lost AJ Brown and Goddard during last week's game. Will they be back on the field
03:22Sunday? They both should be back. We didn't think AJ Brown was, was significant and Goddard's missed
03:28a few weeks with the hamstring. It's time. It's a Dallas divisional game. They both should be on
03:33the field. Well, it just be the B John and Mooney show for the Falcons or can London and pets get
03:40back on the field this week for Atlanta, B John Mooney and pits. It's like a law firm. They're
03:47all going to go. Uh, Drake London is a questionable can play through. It's a pain tolerance
03:54issue and effectiveness issue. All right, let's talk about that Sunday night game lions and Texans
03:59at NRG in Houston. Will Nico Collins be back catching passes, uh, in those sick red unis
04:07they're going to be wearing Sunday night against the best team, perhaps in the NFL.
04:11Look, I said all along, I didn't think his hamstring was significant. Admittedly,
04:15I was surprised that they went on injured reserve. I thought he would return to practice
04:21this week. He just returned limited today. So that typical pattern is that he's not playing,
04:28but don't bet against it. I have a sneaky suspicion that this may be a surprise active
04:33on Sunday, just like Puka was a couple of weeks ago on Thursday for the Thursday game for the
04:40Rams. All right. I don't want to hear anything other than reality here. Uh, you're a surgeon
04:46and you cannot tell me that you aren't concerned about Chris Olave's multiple concussions.
04:55And as far as I'm concerned, too, is the same boat moldable concussions.
04:59Neither one of them can take a hit. I think both of their futures are at stake here,
05:06and I don't want to hear about, Oh, it's their decision. It's their body. It's their family.
05:11It's their letting. I cannot believe the NFL even lets these guys with multiple,
05:16there should be a number you hit. And if you go over five or six concussions,
05:20you're finished in this league. Yeah. Uh, you know, we tracked a lobby that this was his fifth,
05:27but you know, they're saying it's his fourth. It doesn't matter. It's two and two weeks.
05:32He's going to be out at least a month. No neurologist is going to clear him for a month.
05:37And at that point in time where the saints are, it might even be season it's multi-week at least.
05:43So definitely I don't think he's close to coming back for multiple weeks. I think it would be dead
05:48wrong. I don't care how minor the concussion was. I don't care what the circumstances two and two
05:53weeks, you have to sit out for at least a month, if not the season, or as you suggest, potentially
05:58more, but you can't put him back. He's not playing this week. I'd be shocked if he played next week,
06:04you know, got to take care of him. How bagged up are the bucks going into this game at Raymond
06:09James against the Niners? Well, you know, the Niners are the ones getting healthy, right? Uh,
06:15after their bye week, we talked about CMC, Jordan Mason, Debo, Samuel's healthy, everyone's healthy
06:20coming off of by and, and, you know, the bucks had that Monday night game. And of course all their
06:24wide receiver core are still out. Right. And so, yeah, the, the, the Niners definitely have an
06:30advantage there. So Tony had the shoulder surgery. Will he be back for the start of the baseball
06:37season for the Dodgers? Well, we talked about it, right. That, you know, how he's going to
06:42play through and not be that effective and that he don't be surprised about surgery. And here's
06:46the surgery. The Dodgers are saying he's ready for spring training. I call not, not fake news
06:52on that one. Okay. First of all, he's not going to be ready for the start of spring training. I
06:57don't think he's going to be ready for the first regular season game, by the way, which is mid
07:01March in Japan, right? That's only four, a little over four months away. Here's the irony. He spent
07:09all last season fully as a designated hitter because of the Tommy John surgery. He might
07:14start this year only as a pitcher. Cause he's a right-handed pitcher.
