00:00All right, Cam, Thursday, Turkey Day, NFL triple header is upon us for week number 13.
00:09And as we know, Detroit Lions and the Cowboys are always traditional hosts on Thanksgiving
00:16Day.
00:17The night game always rotates and this year you get the fish and the Packers out in cold
00:21Lambeau Field.
00:22But we start with the early game.
00:24And as much as the Lions have been smashing everybody, Cam, did you know that the Lions
00:30have lost seven in a row on Thanksgiving Day?
00:34Yes.
00:35How about that?
00:37And did you know also that I believe the Bears have beaten them in three of those seven games?
00:43Straight up.
00:44The Bears have been the opponent and beat them three of those seven times that they've
00:46lost consecutively.
00:49They are 10 and one this year.
00:51They are off to an outstanding start.
00:53So Dan Campbell, distractions this week, you bet that there's a few, but we have to
00:59put those aside.
01:00Block out all the distractions.
01:01You know, that's one thing.
01:02The distractions are on us, not on them.
01:04We got all our family here, friends, all that.
01:06You got to block it out.
01:07Tell them you love them and you'll see them after the game.
01:10See you later.
01:11You know, that's kind of the challenge with all this.
01:13So you know, but this team's been, I mean, they've lost a couple of heartbreakers here
01:21the last two weeks, but they've been in a bunch of these tight races and they just keep
01:25coming back for more.
01:26So they're hungry for a win and we got our hands full.
01:30Dan Campbell, send the family to the hotel after the game.
01:33He's like, listen, tell them, tell your family, I don't care whatever's on the menu, cook
01:39whatever the hell you want.
01:40All right.
01:41Don't come to me Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday saying I'm out of this.
01:44Do you want this?
01:45Is there something special?
01:46Make Thanksgiving dinner.
01:47I'll see you after the game.
01:48That's Dan's advice.
01:49Just stay away from the family.
01:51They want folks that, you know, he wants to finally win a game because it's been brought
01:55up to him and I think it bothers him a little bit because they've lost some close games
02:01the last few years.
02:02You know, that Packer game last year, 29, 22, remember the bell game the year before
02:05that 20, 25 close game, 16, 14 of the bears the year before that.
02:11They've lost some close games on Thanksgiving.
02:13So maybe cam, you might be onto something.
02:16I know that I'd maybe tried to sway you a little bit because I just think the lions
02:20are complete wrecking ball right now.
02:23But this is a very, very big number for a turkey day, 10 and a half for the lions with
02:30a 48 and a half total.
02:34I'm taking the bears right now.
02:35I'm not sure if they're going to win the game outright, but you are kind of changing my
02:38opinion.
02:39Dan Campbell basically says, Hey family, you guys stay at hotels.
02:42I didn't want you like in my domicile in my home bothering us before the game.
02:46We'll deal with you.
02:47If we beat the bears, then we'll have a party afterwards.
02:48That's what he should have said.
02:49Like at the Campbell estates, everybody comes down and I'll cook a turkey dinner for the
02:53team.
02:54Like I will have a party, but anyway, take care of business first.
02:58They haven't been good on Thanksgiving, lots of points Carver, but this is a different
03:01Detroit team.
03:02As you mentioned, they're murdering everybody.
03:05Very tough though, to lay that kind of number.
03:07I got to take the bears, probably put the lions in a super teaser or something.
03:10I, I believe that they are on a clear mission this year.
03:16I think that the directive is out the way they lost the NFC title game to the Niners
03:21with a lead and they blew that game.
03:23They have come into this year looking to put their foot down and say, we're the best team
03:30in the NFC.
03:31This is a national stage Thanksgiving day, a day that they've had problems with the past
03:36few years.
03:37So you know that that's also going to be driven home by Campbell these next couple of days.
03:43I know it's a lot, but I'm willing to go after it, Cam, I think.
03:49And here's the other side of the coin.
03:51The bears suck and they've now lost what, you know, they've lost, I think it's five
03:56in a row they've lost altogether and two or three of them, Cam, just completely excruciating.
04:02Last week, wild game, they come all the way back and lose to the Vikings.
04:05The week before that, they get the field goal blocked against the Packers.
04:09The start of their losing streak, the Hail Mary with Washington, like, when are they
04:13going to just let go of the rope and say, forget it?
04:17You know, we're done.
04:18Great point.
04:19Another short week on the road.
04:21If they don't get off to a good start, like Detroit goes up 17, nothing or 14, you know
04:25what I mean?
04:26The bears just might say, sayonara, like, get me to the turkey.
04:29We're done.
04:30Like, I'm checking out.
04:31You're right.
04:32They have to come out hot or they're done.
04:36Game two of the Turkey Day Tripleheader.
04:41Not exactly the most desirable matchup, maybe preseason it did with the Giants and the Cowboys
04:48in Dallas, but man, have both of their seasons gone off the tracks.
04:53Let me start with the Cowboys side of things, Cam, because Jerry Jones did his weekly appearance
04:58down in Dallas radio this morning on the fan and the guys asked him about McCarthy, whose
05:03contracts up at the end of the year.
05:05People, and it's funny, Cam, people just assume that he's not going to be the coach after
05:10this year.
05:11Now, he's won before this year.
05:12He'd done pretty good at least, you know, winning 10 plus games and getting him to the
05:15playoffs.
05:16This is his first bad year in Dallas, but people just assume he's out.
05:21Jerry actually said, Cam, he's not ruling out that McCarthy could be extended after
05:27the season.
05:28Said he's done a great job and he's a Super Bowl winning coach.
05:31Are you buying that form of nonsense that Jerry is spewing all over Dallas that McCarthy,
05:38I actually do too.
05:40People think he's just going to get rid of this guy.
05:42Are you kidding me?
05:43Jerry Jones does whatever Jerry Jones will do.
05:45It doesn't matter.
05:46He'll talk a big game.
05:47They won't pick up a free agent.
05:49McCarthy stays.
05:50Who the hell knows what this guy's going to do.
05:52I actually, you know what, if there was a bet at long odds, Carver, I think me and you
05:56would say McCarthy stays at a, give me a big enough plus number.
05:59I'm in.
06:02See, here's the thing, Cam, that people have to, and there are some guys out there that
06:08are desirable, I guess you could say at the end of this season, namely of course, Mike
06:13Vrabel and Bill Belichick as being the guys that everybody kind of said, that's who I
06:18want to coach my team.
06:20Not everybody wants to work for Jerry.
06:22Nope.
06:23Okay.
06:24Not everybody wants to work for him.
06:25And I don't think that those two guys would necessarily want to work for Jerry.
06:30And if you get rid of them, who are you, you know, Jerry might prefer an experienced
06:37Superbowl winning coach, whether you like it or not, um, over the next hot coordinator
06:43who's never done it.
06:45You know, Jerry, right.
06:48And yes, man, which yes, Jerry, yes, Jerry, whatever you say, that's why Garrett was there
06:56for a while because Garrett was a good yes man.
07:00And eventually you just couldn't go any further.
07:02I don't think that they've reached that with McCarson yet.
07:05This is his first bad year.
07:07And if people will say, you could say at least Mike would make the case, uh, I've had a billion
07:13injuries this year.
07:14I lost my quarterback.
07:15I lost Parsons for the first six games of the year.
07:18First half of the season.
07:19I lost this.
07:20What do you want me to do?
07:21You didn't give me anybody in free agency again.
07:23I have no running backs.
07:24I had no, so I think Mike actually might have a case if he sat down with Jerry and said,
07:30Oh yeah, this is why.
07:31And Jerry would probably go, Oh yeah, you're right.
07:32Uh, so we'll keep him back.
07:33I, with you, Cam, I lean to he's back more than he's gone.
07:39And I know that's probably surprising for a lot of people, but that's how I leave now.
07:42The other side of the coin is the giants and they got all kinds of, they got all kinds
07:47of problems.
07:48Uh, the probably, and it's, they've had a lot of these, but one of the most embarrassing
07:52losses, uh, was Sunday at home against the bucks where they just got smashed, uh, 30
07:58to seven.
07:59And after the game cam, we played a clip of neighbors yesterday here, me and Joe, and
08:03there was several other players who kind of voiced their opinion about the team.
08:08Uh, a bunch of them called them soft.
08:11Neighbors was upset that, you know, he wouldn't get the ball until it was 30 to nothing.
08:15Uh, lots of players, uh, voicing their displeasure in the locker room.
08:20Uh, what does Brian Dable think about all that?
08:22Again, when you, when you lose a game like that, Arthur's there's frustration.
08:26You'd like to keep it in house, but you understand, I mean, I've been doing this for a while and
08:31there's, you know, there's conversations that you have to have, you know, if comments like
08:36that are made and I respect the opinions of, of the players and of the coaches.
08:43And we'll work as hard as we can to get this, get this fixed.
08:48That's basically let's, uh, let's translate what he just said, uh, cam, uh, I can't do
08:54anything about it.
08:55Uh, is what he just said.
08:56There's nothing I can do about it.
08:58And he's going to be finished.
09:00I know what's this guy doing?
09:01Like he goes for two when you shouldn't go for two, you are actually in games.
09:05You lose games.
09:06You've done everything wrong.
09:07Gable.
09:08Like, what do you want the players to do?
09:09You said that, uh, Locke was going to be the backup.
09:12You put in Tommy cutlets.
09:13Cause he's popular in the city.
09:14Like what the hell are we doing here?
09:16What, what, what, like, what is the goal?
09:18The goal?
09:19Like I get it.
09:20Lose games, get a better draft pick, but you still got to compete.
09:23You can cover numbers.
09:25I don't know what the deal is.
09:26Carver.
09:27What do we do with this game?
09:28Honestly, this is the one where, you know, they say TV off fellas.
09:31It's Thanksgiving.
09:32You're like, thank God.
09:33This is the middle game.
09:34Click.
09:35If you had to like, not watch a football game for a while, it's Dallas and the giants, but
09:38I don't know what to do.
09:40Like, should Dallas be a favorite?
09:42Like what a, what a hard game.
09:44Dallas is, um, three and a half point favorites, uh, here in this game now, now that we also
09:50have some giant quarterback situations, Dable said today that, uh, DeVito's arm throwing
09:56arm is sore and he's not a hundred percent sure if he's going to play on Thursday, which
10:01of course would then mean drew lock would play.
10:05I don't, I I'm trying to decide if that's better or worse cam that drew locks going
10:10to play.
10:11I think it's better for maybe guys like Malik neighbors.
10:15It's probably better.
10:16Uh, I say, but three and a half and 37 and a half Cooper rush and, uh, Tommy DeVito.
10:25If it's those two guys, we want to, you know, sometimes you get too bad quarterbacks, too
10:30bad teams.
10:31And suddenly you get, um, a crazy high scoring game can, that does happen sometimes.
10:35I'm going to tell you if it's drew lock, he's playing for his future.
10:39It's not about the giants.
10:40It's about him.
10:42Get me to get me another backup job somewhere else or keep me in the damn league.
10:46Like you know, you're being pushed behind DeVito.
10:48I think that's why I would bet on the giants, but who knows, we don't know what we're going
10:52to get from lock, but yeah, right.
10:53Carver, you got two crap teams of the total that low.
10:55You might even want to go over, but I don't feel comfortable laying points with Dallas.
10:59Of course, the dolphins and the Packers will be the nightcap on Turkey day, uh, in what
11:05will be a very cold Lambeau field.
11:08And as me and cam referenced before the, before the break, uh, the dolphins did play in basically
11:13the coldest game ever, uh, last year in January, uh, in Arrowhead against the Kansas city chief.
11:19So you'd think they'd be a little bit more prepared for games that are only in the low
11:24thirties or high twenties, like Thursday night's going to be at Lambeau.
11:28Uh, but Mike McDaniel's always looking for ways to keep the dolphins prepared for cold
11:32weather.
11:33Um, well, you know, um, I was just going to carry ice cubes in my pockets and throw them
11:38at players all week.
11:39Uh, you know, I, there it's, I mean, it's not revolutionary there's, I'm not going to,
11:47um, I'm not going to throw it out there for the world and, and, uh, act like we've checked
11:52the box and we've got this answered.
11:55I got ice cubes in my pockets, throw ice cubes at him, Cam.
12:05He's got the, he's got a re he's got something to do there.
12:08Just throw the ice cubes.
12:09Why not?
12:10What a piece of work.
12:13He tells me that guy, what's he doing?
12:15He is funny.
12:17He is very funny.
12:19Um, the dolphins with Tua as the quarterback, okay, I've played four games, uh, with temperatures
12:26of 40 degrees or colder, uh, Tua is oh and four straight up in those games.
12:33They are one in three against the spread in such situations.
12:37Of course, the forecast is calling it for it to be below 32 degrees, uh, for this game
12:42Thursday night.
12:43Uh, well, there it is for you right there, Cam, uh, the oh and four straight up for Tua
12:47under 40 degrees.
12:49He discussed it as well.
12:50He's saying we got to change some narratives.
12:52He's right about that.
12:53Now the dolphins have gotten hot.
12:54They've won three in a row to get themselves back to five and six and breathing for the
13:00last spot in the AFC.
13:02They're trying to track down Denver who currently has it.
13:05They are getting three and a half points here on Thursday night, 47 and a half is the total
13:12for this game.
13:13I got to tell you, Cam, I might be nuts, but I am, uh, I'm taking the dolphins, uh,
13:20with the three and a half on Thursday night.
13:22I think they're going to be in this game.
13:24Uh, and I don't think that green Bay's, uh, you know, paper tiger.
13:28I think that they're a good team, but you watch green Bay.
13:32There's a lot of games where their defense, I don't think it's, uh, one of the top ones
13:38in the NFL.
13:39I think that you can move the football against the green Bay D, especially when Alexander's
13:44on out there and love.
13:46He does make a mistake or two from time to time.
13:48He got a little saved against the nines.
13:50I know he had a play where he's almost fumbled it and he grabbed it back in another ball
13:55that was, should have been intercepted.
13:56Like he does.
13:57He gives you some chances to turn them over.
14:00I think the dolphins hang around and maybe even break that Schneid until it finally gets
14:05a win under 40 degrees.
14:06Well, you got the roommate.
14:08You say you're nuts.
14:09I'm your roommate.
14:10Put us in straight jackets together, Carver.
14:11I'll take the dolphins money line and points teased any way I can get it.
14:16I don't care about this ATS crap.
14:18They're playing hot.
14:19You saw what they've done in their last games.
14:21They killed Matt Stafford and that like their defense is playing a hell of a lot better.
14:25John, who Smith's playing better.
14:27You could run the ball and you're right about love.
14:30I think they can force him into mistakes.
14:32I like the dolphins in this spot.
14:34I know the weather everyone's talking about green Bay, but this is a big one for me, Carver.
14:38I'm taking the points with the dolphins and the money line.
