00:00All right, Carver, hi, we dive into the NFL wildcard weekend now, and I see that you have
00:06the one and only Art Smith on the show today.
00:09Well, yeah, you know, it was you sent me this this morning or last night, whenever it was,
00:15and I thought it was funny, just because your boy, Pony in Pittsburgh, who's always, you
00:19know, obviously always gassing up to steal the stealer stuff.
00:22And you know, it's been talked about, do who does they want to start?
00:26I mean, Russ has been bad during this entire stretch.
00:30Justin Fields, you want to go back to him?
00:31Tomlin has said, you know, we're going to have some kind of a package like we always
00:35do.
00:36He's been hurt the last few weeks.
00:37Arthur Smith was kind of asked about that as well.
00:40And he says, Scotty, all hands on deck for the Steelers against the Ravens on Saturday
00:45night.
00:46You know, there's stone left unturned.
00:47You know, it's what the playoffs is.
00:48I mean, like, whatever you get to the drama, the ups and downs of the season, however you
00:49shake it, you're in a single elimination tournament.
00:50I use that analogy, let's burn the boats, because you've got to win to stay in and survive
01:02in advance.
01:03And so we'll use everything at our disposal, assuming it's the appropriate thing to do.
01:07Yeah, I just don't believe that for one minute.
01:10Okay.
01:11I have sat and watched this team like no other.
01:14You know, I'm a season ticket holder.
01:16I go to the games.
01:17I watch their games.
01:19I watch every game they play.
01:20I watch every snap of every game they play.
01:23And they never do anything unique.
01:28They never do anything different.
01:29They never do anything special for Justin Fields in that offense.
01:35I've seen him come on the field for like, what?
01:37I guarantee you he hasn't played five plays since they benched him.
01:42Five, five plays.
01:43Like, he came in and did what?
01:46Ran one yard?
01:47That's your idea of using Justin Fields?
01:50It's laughable.
01:52This guy, do you understand?
01:54I even sent you stats today.
01:56I sent them today.
01:58This guy is worse than Matt Canada.
02:01And I didn't even think that was possible.
02:04I thought that guy was the worst coordinator I've ever seen in any sport ever.
02:10And then this guy tops him.
02:13He's literally got worse stats than Matt Canada.
02:17He really does.
02:18He's done that bad of a job.
02:19And you're right about Fields.
02:20Like, at this point, even if you were to bring him in for, you know, some kind of a package,
02:27the other team knows why he's in there.
02:30He's in there to run.
02:31He ain't gonna throw the ball.
02:33There's no shot he's gonna throw the ball.
02:36You know what?
02:37I know he ran a lot when he was the starter, but at least there was like, you didn't know
02:40each play.
02:41When he just comes trotting out there for one play, you know what it is.
02:46It's going to be some kind of sweep to the right or up the middle, you know, throwing
02:51a ball.
02:52Have we not heard that there's teams interested, the Jets, et cetera, in interviewing Art Smith
03:00for their head coaching vacancy.
03:01Can you imagine being so stupid as an executive or a front office role type person that makes
03:11decisions?
03:12Like, we're gonna interview this guy for our job, our head job, because, you know, of the
03:19job he's doing in Pittsburgh, like, what would behoove you to interview someone, to hire
03:26someone for a job because they're talented or they've got some kind of juice or they've
03:31got a name all of a sudden and people are talking about you all of a sudden?
03:36Who in their right mind would interview Art Smith after the abortion of a job he did in
03:42Atlanta and the abortion that he's done in Pittsburgh?
03:45I mean, can you imagine someone being stupid enough to bring him in for an interview to
03:51be the head coach?
03:52I mean, honestly, like, I'm as serious as the day is blue.
03:56What in the God?
03:57I mean, I'm going to start swearing.
04:00Who would do that?
04:02Who would bring this guy?
04:03He's done nothing, but their offense is so anemic.
04:07He calls the plays.
04:09He's in charge of the most anemic offense in the NFL, and you're going to bring him
04:13in to be the head coach of your diplomacy?
04:15You must be stupid.
04:17Yeah, it really doesn't make a lot of sense.
04:22But of course, the Jets are going to interview him immediately when they lose this game on
04:29Saturday night.
04:30I would make him take the train back to Pittsburgh, take the Amtrak back.
04:35Here you go.
04:36You can drink the whole way home.
04:38He's so awful.
04:41Honestly, I'm not joking.
04:44Well, the Bears and the Jets are the ones who are requested to interview with him.
04:50Let's remember, they're also interviewing everyone who's ever, you know, stepped foot
04:55in a facility.
04:56So that's a part of what you have to remember as well when it comes to those guys.
05:00George Pickens, eligible for an extension, has one year left on his rookie deal.
05:03I saw some numbers that you sent me that, like, four years, a hundred-something million
05:07dollars is what he's going to get.
05:10I don't know about all that.
05:12He said today that he's going to be finished with the Steelers after this game on Saturday,
05:17and that'll be the last you ever see of him in Pittsburgh.
05:20I also don't believe that for one minute.
05:23I don't believe that either, because he has a year left on his deal.
05:27So it's not like he's a free agent and he's leaving.
05:30I did see all the media.
05:32Throw the noodle against the fridge to see if it'll stick.
05:36Like, I'll say anything today to get attention, and I'm not that guy.
05:40I'm really not.
05:41I know I'm painful, but I'm not that guy.
05:44You've never known me to be that guy.
05:45Here, let's see if I can say something crazy on the air today to get everybody's attention.
05:50I'm already crazy enough as it is.
05:52I'm already painful enough as it is.
05:54I don't need to, like, do phony-ass stuff.
05:57I never have my entire career.
05:58Hey, let me see if I said that.
06:00We used to have that problem with our boy back at CBS.
06:03He'd done anything to get attention.
06:05You know who I'm talking about.
06:06I'm not going to drag him through.
06:10He would have said anything to start a fire.
06:13A lot of people like that.
06:14Oh, please.
06:15Every one I—what, eight out of every ten guys on sports radio?
06:19Just about.
06:21And I did see all the regular beat reporters for the Steelers today were—
06:25I'm not saying upset, but made sure to make it a point
06:27that Pickens, again, didn't talk to anybody this week.
06:31He usually does his media at the end of the week.
06:33Not talking to the media.
06:35What are you—let me just—they're all so fired up that he doesn't—
06:38like, oh, he didn't talk to us after the Bengal game,
06:40and he didn't talk to us this week.
06:42Why the hell do you want to talk to him?
06:44He doesn't say anything.
06:46He stands there, gives you a one-word answer,
06:49and then turns around and walks away.
06:51So you just want him to come out so you can do that spectacle every week?
06:55You can have George come out.
06:56He looks at you, he goes, no, no.
06:59What have I told you I want him to do?
07:00What have I said to you about what I want from him?
07:04Catch the football.
07:05How about that?
07:07Catch the football.
07:08What does it matter?
07:09What has he given you in those media scrums
07:14at the end of practice on Thursdays and Fridays?
07:16Nothing.
07:17You're getting all your games—
07:19All I need is a touchdown or two on Saturday night in Baltimore.
07:21That's what I need.
07:23But they want to gas everyone up by watching him turn around—
07:25not answer the question, say, all right, all right,
07:28and turn around and walk away.
07:29You know, everybody loves those clips.
07:31Everyone watches him turn around.
07:32For all these guys, he's not giving you anything substantial.
07:37Who cares if he didn't talk to the media?
07:40The last four—you gave me all the good numbers there—
07:43last four Steeler playoff losses,
07:45they've gotten off to some very slow starts.
07:48They've been outscored 56-0 in the first quarter,
07:50combining those four games,
07:52and eventually they would trail 21-0,
07:5428-0, 35-7, 21-0 in all four of those games.
07:59Maybe they need to—how about, like, even a field goal,
08:01just scoring first on Saturday night?
08:04Like, even that would be—just have a lead.
08:06Get yourself out on the right foot.
08:08This is the last four playoff games.
08:1121-0, 28-0, 35-7, 21-0.
08:15And that was just the early score.
08:20This is after the first quarter.
08:22Are you kidding me?
08:24And people continue to say
08:26that they shouldn't get rid of Mike Tomlin,
08:29who is coaching these teams.
08:32I'm—you know, I love Mike Tomlin.
08:34I've liked him for a long time.
08:35We've had him on the show 5 million times.
08:38We do the words of wisdom.
08:39But the reality is, he's been an utter failure,
08:42disaster since that Super Bowl.
08:46Since he won a ring, he's never won a game.
08:49He's just awful.
08:50He's an awful playoff coach,
08:53and he's a regular-season,
08:56you know, September through November coach.
09:00In December, he's Houdini.
09:02He disappears before you're very—
09:05He's David Copperfield in December.
09:07Honest to Christ.
09:08In January, it's even worse.
09:11It's a bloodletting.
09:12In January, he's a missing child.
09:23Just three games left in this historic college football season.
09:42Thursday, Notre Dame—
09:43Notre Dame is definitely one of the top teams in the nation.
09:46—clash with Penn State.
09:48Friday, Ohio State looks to slow down the horns
09:52with the Buckeyes favored to top Texas.
09:54You know what I see two similar plays?
09:57Jackpot, Jerry.
09:58Call him up for a big net.
10:00Follow along for every play and every bet
10:03with in-game live game day only on Sports Grid.
10:10Statement from Giants president John Farrow.
10:13Joe Shane and Brian Dayball will continue
10:17in their respective roles with the organization
10:20as disappointing as the results of the season have been.
10:24Steve Tisch and I remain confident in the process
10:27that Joe and Brian have implemented.
10:29The Giants, an absolute train wreck, and I love it.
10:33The early line, only on Sports Grid.
10:40This was a team that you should have dominated.
10:42You've now lost four straight.
10:44You're heading into the playoffs,
10:45and you're searching for answers,
10:47not just in terms of your offensive line,
10:49but your quarterback now.
10:51I just don't see this team peaking at the right time.
10:53It was almost like we were anointing Mike Tomlin
10:55as the best coach in the NFL 12 or 13 weeks in.
10:57Then once they got to the real competition
10:59and the attrition started to settle in,
11:01it's just not a good football team.
11:02Pro football today, only on Sports Grid.
11:09Lewis Riddick has interviewed for every job in North America,
11:14and I'm not just talking football.
11:16I'm talking about every business in North America
11:19of any kind whatsoever.
11:21Tire companies, grocery store CEOs,
11:26you know, shopping malls, insurance companies.
11:29What job hasn't Lewis Riddick interviewed for?
11:33Pharrell coast to coast, only on Sports Grid.
11:45I mean, it's getting better by the minute
12:03with some of the skinny that we have
12:05for this Steeler-Raven game.
12:07Listen to this next bit.
12:08Carver High, what is it?
12:10Yes, Brian Kemp will be the referee
12:13for the Steelers and the Ravens on Saturday night.
12:16The home team has won 81.25% of the games
12:22he officiated this year in 2024.
12:25The league average is usually just over 50%, 53.31.
12:30But Kemp for the home team, 81.
12:32What in the hell is that?
12:35The average of the league is 53.3% of the refs
12:41give the calls to the home team.
12:44This guy.
12:45Well, the home team wins.
12:46Home team wins the game.
12:49Well, the home team wins 81% of the time.
12:52This guy's anywhere near a game.
12:55Right, right.
12:56So the home team, that's the, I don't know.
12:58Those numbers, I don't think bake in necessarily
13:02how many flags he's thrown against either side,
13:05but that is just strictly who wins the game
13:09when this guy's the ref
13:10and the home team wins the game 81% of the time
13:14when it's Brian Kemp.
13:15Oh, that's all I need to know that they get all the calls.
13:19That's it.
13:20You can decipher that from those statistics.
13:24You can.
13:25You can decipher that when it comes to it.
13:28The Ravens will not have Zay Flowers on Saturday night.
13:32He is out.
13:33So he got hurt, of course, last week.
13:35I gotta go back.
13:36Sure.
13:37The other night, right?
13:38This Saturday game,
13:39the Bengals and the Steelers.
13:41And I mean to tell you,
13:43so it's minus 10 with a windshield, the whole deal.
13:46These NFL refs, I mean, I swear to God.
13:51Now, if you watch the game, I don't know if you did,
13:54but in the first half, in the second quarter,
13:57it literally took them an hour and 15 minutes
14:00to get through the second quarter
14:02because every single play,
14:04I mean, every single effing play,
14:08this guy had to blow the whistle,
14:12stop the game and have a meeting with his refs
14:15and then have reviews on the sideline.
14:18It was every single play in the second quarter.
14:21And I mean, people were booing,
14:23not because so much of the calls were bad.
14:27It was that they couldn't get their act together.
14:30They didn't know whether they were coming or going.
14:33They didn't know what the calls were,
14:34what, why did we throw a flag?
14:38What are we gonna do here?
14:39Who's it against?
14:41Maybe we should review it.
14:42Let's go take a look if he was short on the spot.
14:45Well, let's look at the spot.
14:46I mean, it was the worst officiating crew
14:50I have ever seen in my life.
14:52And I think what happened was, in my view,
14:54the reason people were so mad
14:56was because they were freezing their ass off.
14:58It was negative windshield.
15:00And I think the refs were frozen numb and dumb.
15:05They were numb and dumb and dumb and dumber.
15:08Every single call took 10 minutes.
15:11And there was, I mean,
15:14literally the game started at eight and a half time.
15:16It was like 11 o'clock.
15:18And I was like, what is happening here?
15:20I'm freezing my ass off.
15:22And people were booing and cussing.
15:24You should have heard the language
15:26I heard directed at this head ref.
15:28I mean, this guy got abused like no other.
15:30I have never seen the abuse of a ref at an NFL game
15:34like I saw Saturday night in Pittsburgh against the Bengals.
15:37I don't even care who he was.
15:38He was awful.
15:39I don't even care his name.
15:41So, Bob, send me a couple of stats on this guy, Kemp.
15:44He co-ranks number one in multiple categories,
15:47offensive holding, defensive holding, and face mask.
15:50Kemp ranks number three in calling roughing the passer.
15:5463% of Kemp's false start offensive holding penalties
15:57are assessed on road teams,
15:59the largest discrepancy of any crew in 2024.
16:04So, there you go, Kemp.
16:06The game's over already.
16:08Get ready for flags.
16:09And yes, I was watching last Saturday night.
16:12The refs had a very hard time in that Steeler-Bengal game.
16:15They had a very hard time in that game.
16:17No question about that.
16:19It is still nine and a half.
16:20It is still 43 and a half.
16:22Of course, tomorrow, we'll dive into it even more
16:26with Mike Tomlin's words of wisdom
16:28going into a wild card weekend.
16:30We'll have that tomorrow.
16:31I gotta be honest.
16:32I pray to God that you're right about the 10 that we bet.
16:37And I bet it. Blue collar game.
16:39I bet the 10, but I swear to God.
16:41I'm just gonna be honest.
16:42I think the Ravens are gonna beat them
16:44by at least 14, 17 points.
16:48Easy.
16:49Steeler's offense is so anemic.
16:51They will go three and out at least seven to 10 times.
16:54Watch.
16:56I just believe that the Steelers' defense
17:00is going to keep them in the game.
17:03And I think the Steelers will get-
17:05What defense?
17:06They played well against Cincinnati last week.
17:11You mean their Thanksgiving defense?
17:12The one that ended in Thanksgiving?
17:13I know they lost.
17:14I know that they played well
17:16against Cincinnati last Saturday night.
17:17I know that they didn't win the game,
17:19but they did not lose the game because of their D.
17:22They held the Bengals under 20 points.
17:25It's something the Bengals hadn't done in two months.
17:27I thought Hayward played great.
17:29Watt played great.
17:30I think that those guys are going to play well.
17:33Did you see Hayward getting talked to
17:35by Wilson after the game?
17:36Let's go get the next four, baby.
17:37And Hayward's like, yeah, whatever, dude.
17:39Get out of my way.
17:40I know.
17:41Russ is always Mr. Cheerleader out there.
17:44You never know.
17:44Russ always.
17:46And remember, Russ always does that stuff.
17:48He knows the camera's there.
17:50Russ always knows the camera's there
17:52when he does all that stuff.
17:53Come on, baby.
17:54Let's go.
17:55Let's ride.
17:56Let's go.
17:57Come on, baby.
17:57Let's get the next four, baby.
17:58Come on.
17:59There you go.
18:00The other game on Saturday is Chargers and Texans.
18:02And we will do more on that tomorrow as well.
18:05Still two and a half and 42 and a half.
18:06Nothing has changed for that game.
18:09Either the first game on wild card Saturday
18:13down in H-Town for you.
18:15So nothing of much significance to report you with that.
18:19All right, we'll come back
18:20and I will start to give you some stuff
18:22from Sunday's games.
18:23I've got Sean McDermott and Sean Payton for you today.
18:26Got a little Sirianni later.
18:28Baker Mayfield.
18:29How you and everyone else, not you specifically,
18:32but literally no one is talking about the LA-Houston game.
18:41You just blew past that like you were hitting off the tee
18:44at Tapalula.
18:45Because I felt like we have done that more
18:49than the other games
18:50because we had some sound on it yesterday
18:53and tomorrow we're going to have more sound on it.
18:55I haven't played you.
18:56No one at all.
18:57Yeah.
18:58Saturday night at eight, not at 4.30.
19:01Another year for Sean McDermott,
19:03Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills.
19:05And once again, the quest is to finally get to a Superbowl.
19:10Here is McDermott as they start another playoff run.
19:14Hey, we can't think about the past.
19:16We can only think about now.
19:18Every year is different.
19:19I know why you're saying that.
19:20Every year is different
19:22and every team takes on its own identity.
19:24So I would say yes and no.
19:26I say yes because it is in our history
19:31of not getting to accomplish our ultimate goal
19:33year to year.
19:35But at the end of the day, we've had a lot of success
19:37and it's a hard thing to win in this league.
19:39And you're looking at an AFC that is loaded
19:41with high level teams.
19:43And it starts right from the start with a week long
19:46for us of a really good football team
19:48in the Denver Broncos here.
19:51Yeah, I'll agree with him.
19:53Like, you know, I know it's not the same thing
19:56but to me, it's a lot like, you know,
19:58you're in the NCAA tournament
20:00and you're trying to make it to the final four.
20:02It's really hard.
20:03I'm in this basketball that I play
20:06in these violent leagues that are all over the country.
20:08They're everywhere.
20:09All these ex NBA players are in it.
20:11There's tremendous talent in that league
20:13and I play in it and here in New York
20:16and you know, Mafia played with me.
20:19He won four championships.
20:20He knows how hard it is.
20:21He went to four others and lost.
20:23I've gone to 10 and lost.
20:25I went to 10 title games and lost.
20:28I went to 10, I went to four of them undefeated and lost.
20:32And it's always the same thing when it's over.
20:34You talk about how hard it is to actually get it done.
20:40Like, you know, I've won 12 championships
20:42but it was hard as hell to get it done.
20:45It's hard to win the first game, the quarter,
20:47the semi and the final.
20:49It's brutal.
20:50And I know how he feels.
20:52It's written all over his face.
20:53He's like, it is so hard to win in this league.
20:56They get there every year.
20:57They're right on the doorstep and they don't get it done.
21:00And then people crucify him and crucify them.
21:04But the people that are doing the crucifixions
21:06don't understand how hard it is to actually get it done.
21:11There's only one left standing in sports.
21:14Shut up.
21:16There's only one winner every year.
21:19Only one team can win.
21:20The Bills, of course, they need to finally
21:22get over that hurdle and get themselves to a Super Bowl.
21:26Here's Sean Payton on the other side.
21:28Bo Nicks, rookie quarterback,
21:30making his first playoffs start.
21:32Payton, not concerned about that.
21:34Kids played plenty of big games in his life.
21:36A rookie quarterback starting his first NFL game.
21:39Is it to-
21:41His first playoff game.
21:42A big step and then what makes you think?
21:45You're a jerk.
21:47Listen, he's played in bigger games.
21:49I mean, he's played in a lot of big games.
21:54And honestly, last week for him,
21:57for many guys, it was like a playoff game.
22:03So he's seasoned and he's been in big moments.
22:07And you know what?
22:08He's going to play in bigger games.
22:11I'll give him this.
22:11I thought that hoodie he was wearing was terrific.
22:15Yeah, if we could get that in like another team,
22:20that would be fine with me.
22:21But yeah, the hoodie.
22:23They usually outfit those to every team.
22:26Like every team gets the same gear,
22:27just their logo slapped on it there.
22:29So we might have to find one of those.
22:30Yeah, you need to get the Bills and Steeler ones of those.
22:32And it's going to be all right.
22:33And the Bills and Steeler ones are going to be okay.
22:35Still eight and a half and 47 and a half
22:38for the Bills and the Broncos on Sunday afternoon.
22:41First game of three on the middle day.
22:43I think Buffalo wins this game.
22:46It boils down to the number.
22:48I think it's going to be a great game.
22:50I think Denver's for real.
22:51I think they're legit.
22:53I think they're going to show up.
22:55I think they're going to lose,
22:57but I can see them covering the number.
22:59I think they're going to be in the game.
23:01I really do.
23:02I do not think that I also can see Buffalo blowing them out.
23:07To me, Buffalo's not losing.
23:09Buffalo in one way, shape or form to me
23:12is going to the AFC Championship game.
23:14Let's do a little Packers-Eagles now here.
23:16Of course, last year, the Packers and Jordan Love
23:19in his first playoff appearance, got a win in Dallas,
23:22had a lead in San Francisco
23:25before they blew that game in the second half.
23:27Do those experiences help Jordan Love
23:30as he goes on the road again to see the Eagles on Sunday?
23:33He says, eh, not really.
23:35Yeah, I think it definitely gives you confidence.
23:39Especially last year, it gave me a lot of confidence.
23:41I think just the way we played and executed as offense
23:46gave us a lot of confidence in that time.
23:48But like we said, it's a new face, it's a new team,
23:52and we got to go out there and do it again.
23:54We can't live on what we might've did last year
23:57against the Cowboys, things like that.
23:58So we got to go out there and handle business and execute.
24:01But that's kind of, I feel like what this offense can be at
24:06when we are kind of at our best.
24:08So there's definitely, that's the limit
24:11or the level we need to get to.
24:14The problem is the defense they're going up against.
24:18It's that simple.
24:18I think Philly's defense is really tough.
24:21I saw it in the, frankly, every game they played,
24:24but firsthand against the Steelers,
24:27they just shut them down.
24:29I mean, I know that the Steelers were in that game
24:31until Najee fumbled the ball
24:34at the 20-yard line of the Eagles,
24:36and that was the end of the game.
24:37But I think their defense is a real problem for Love.
24:42I think so too.
24:43And especially with really how inconsistent
24:47the Packer pass game has been for a while now.
24:51And I think that that's also,
24:52because you know the Eagles are going to come in
24:54and they're going to key on Jacobs.
24:55They're going to slow down the run.
24:57They're going to make Love and those inconsistent receivers
25:00try to beat them down the field.
25:02Other side of the coin here is Sirianni.
25:04By the way, Hurts has been practicing.
25:06He's going to be good to go.
25:07Here is Sirianni.
25:08Now we heard Sean Payton talk about
25:10Knicks making his first start.
25:12Said, ah, he's played in big games before, whatever.
25:14I've actually thought what Sirianni said
25:16about guys playing in their first playoff game
25:18took that even a step further.
25:20Here's Nick Sirianni.
25:21I mean, these guys are at the pinnacle of their sport.
25:24So some of them have played in state championship games.
25:27Some of them have played in national championship games.
25:28Some of them played in rival games
25:30that are bigger rivals than anybody has ever played in.
25:36Iowa State's a big rival for Coupe, right?
25:38And so that doesn't mean one's bigger than the other.
25:41Like, you go to a high school football game,
25:44you go to Southwestern versus Falconer,
25:46and you tell that, and that's my team,
25:49Southwestern's my team, Falconer was our rival.
25:52You go to that school and say,
25:54this game's not as important as a playoff game.
25:58Those kids are going to, that game's important to me.
26:03There's nothing bigger to me than this game right now.
26:05And so these guys have been playing in these
26:06their entire lives.
26:08I want them to stick on their process.
26:10I want to stick with what got us here
26:12and not think about anything else other than,
26:14hey, again, I don't think it's a winner's mindset
26:17to be like, here's what I'm doing different now,
26:18or here's how this game's going to be different.
26:20Screw that.
26:21It's about what we do all week.
26:23It's about us.
26:25I mean, the fact of the matter is they're a really good team
26:27and they have Barkley and they have a great defense.
26:29And if Hertz is okay, he does have options
26:35I mean, Brown and Smith aren't garbage, okay?
26:38So if he's able to throw the ball to either one of them,
26:42they're going to do their thing.
26:43I think the Eagles are dangerous.
26:45I don't care where they played high school football.
26:49Hertz was at practice again today, as I mentioned.
26:53So he's going to be good to go.
26:54It looks like two days in a row he's practiced for Sunday.
26:57Four and a half and 45 and a half are the numbers
27:01for the Eagles and the Packers.
27:02So that really hasn't moved much
27:05throughout the week.
27:06We'll do it again one more time tomorrow.
27:08The night game will be Tampa and the Commanders
27:12in Tampa at the Pirate Ship at Raymond James.
27:15Here is Baker Mayfield.
27:17Of course, the Bucs scored a lot of points.
27:19Baker's had a huge year.
27:20Will it be a shootout?
27:21Will it be a low scoring game?
27:23Baker doesn't care.
27:24He could do either of those as long as the Bucs win.
27:26Obviously, if you come on the right side of it, yeah.
27:29Yeah, it's mentality for us.
27:32Find any way to win, whether the game's a shootout,
27:35whether it's low scoring,
27:36make the plays that matter when it counts.
27:38So it's going to be a full game.
27:40You got to be locked in.
27:41That's just playoff mode.
27:42All the little things really matter.
27:43The margin for error is just so much smaller
27:45at this point in the season and everything counts.
27:48Look, I think for this guy, it's real simple.
27:51They gave him all the money.
27:54After last year, they made the playoffs
27:56and they went to Detroit and they had a chance
28:00to win the game, but he threw a pick and the game ended.
28:02They had the Lions buy the Onions.
28:05He was playing great.
28:06They were playing great and they lost.
28:08Then they gave him all the money.
28:09Now, the expectations are that he's going to go
28:13into this playoff game and win
28:15because they gave him all this money.
28:17That's it.
28:18I mean, that's the whole deal, right?
28:19Like now that you're highly paid
28:22and you're making that fat bag, you got to win this game.
28:25I think this is the one team really that stands out to me
28:30that is vulnerable to lose this weekend at home.
28:35I think that Daniels is dangerous enough
28:37to go in there and steal that game.
28:40The reality of it is Philly's better than Green Bay.
28:43The reality of it is Buffalo's better than Denver.
28:46The reality of it is Baltimore's better than Pittsburgh.
28:49The reality is the Chargers are better than the Texans.
28:54The reality is, is that there's one team
28:57that could go win that game on this guy's money
29:01and everyone's expectations.
29:02Dude, they were losing 16 to six with him on the field
29:06to the, I think the worst team in the league last week.
29:08Now they won the game.
29:10Of course they won the game, but they are vulnerable.
29:13You said it the other day, their defense worries you.
29:16Well, if you got no defense,
29:18then you're not stopping this Jaden Daniels kid.
29:21I'm telling you, he goes in there
29:23and steals that game Sunday night watch.
29:25Of course, Monday night,
29:27the Vikings and the Rams will get together.
29:29We know the situation that's going on in the LA area
29:34with the wildfires, et cetera.
29:36If they cannot play that game in LA on Monday night
29:41and the NFL is monitoring the situation,
29:44they will move both teams to Glendale, Arizona
29:47to of course, where the Cardinals play.
29:50So that is where the game will be, Scotty,
29:52if they cannot be there on Monday night.
29:54Still have a few days before they'll probably decide that.
29:57I mean, you know, and I think that would,
30:00I'm not sure because look,
30:02a lot of people feel like the Rams don't have a home fan base
30:06and you know, the Chargers and Rams don't have fans.
30:09That's ridiculous.
30:10They have fans.
30:11But I think that taking it away from them from LA
30:16to the toaster in Glendale opens the door for the Vikings.
30:20I mean, just like, this is just like a neutral site game.
30:24I don't have to deal with fans at all.
30:27Don't tell me that all those fans from Los Angeles
30:31are driving to the desert to Glendale, Arizona
30:34to watch the Rams.
30:35They barely go to Inglewood.
30:37I mean, you can probably get them to go to their own games.
30:39I think that game would be a disaster for the Rams.
30:43That, it would not be ideal, that's for sure.
30:46And yes, you can say whatever you want.
30:48It makes a difference that they wouldn't be playing a game
30:51in front of their home crowd.
30:53And now look, we saw last night,
30:56last night, the hockey game was postponed.
30:58Tonight, the Laker game with the Hornets has been postponed.
31:03I know it's still Thursday, but see, the problem is,
31:06is that you can't make this decision on Monday morning.
31:10You know, if they're moving this game,
31:13logistically, they really got to figure this out
31:16by I would say 48 hours before.
31:19Saturday, and I think Saturday morning,
31:21to be quite honest with you, because you think about,
31:25right, and I mean, the Vikings would have to change
31:27all their current travel plans.
31:29The Rams would suddenly have to make travel arrangements.
31:32This is not something that you could just change.
31:34So I think they're going to move the game.
31:37That's my, you know, I'm just taking a stab here.
31:40You look at what's going on out there.
31:42It's an awful situation.
31:44I just saw a picture of the Chargers at practice.
31:46Guys are wearing masks out on the practice field
31:48because of all the smoke and the bad air that's out there.
31:52I just don't see how they're going to play.
31:54Remember, that sofa, you bet, you know,
31:56that's open on the sides.
31:57Air's going to get in there.
31:59Get all that bad smoke and air,
32:00you're going to get inside that sofa.
32:02You're right.
32:03I don't think they're playing.
32:04I think they're moving it.
32:05I think they are.
32:07Listen, it's a disaster.
32:09It's literally apocalyptic, what's happened in Los Angeles.
32:13It's absolutely horrific.
32:15It's like, it's so bad.
32:17It's like, it's not even real.
32:19It's just the worst thing that you've ever seen.
32:23What, you know, I gotta be honest with you.
32:25Like, the only devastation I've seen like this is 9-11.
32:32I mean, you can say whatever you want,
32:34but what happened in lower Manhattan that day,
32:37the smoke and the devastation and ground zero
32:41and what it did to New York City and lower Manhattan,
32:44what has happened in Los Angeles,
32:47entire communities are gone.
32:51Entire communities.
32:53There's multiple communities that have been
32:56just burned to the ground.
32:57There's nothing left.
32:59You can talk about Lahaina and Hawaii in Maui.
33:05This is 10 times worse than that, a hundred times worse.
33:10I mean, how many people have been killed?
33:13How many people?
33:14It's over, it's well over a hundred thousand
33:16now have been displaced and evacuated
33:20and homes destroyed, burned to the ground.
33:23Everything, they've lost everything.
33:25And we're worried about a football game.
33:29Honestly, move the game already.
33:31Honestly, it's embarrassing.
33:32Like, what are they gonna try to play a game
33:34in a smoke patch?
33:35I mean, honest to Christ.
33:38They should have already made the decision
33:40that they're not having the game there.
33:42Yeah, much more important things going on, obviously,
33:47when you look at that situation that's happening there.
33:50All right, we'll come back.
33:51I'll quickly give you the Super Bowl numbers
33:54and then we'll start to move on to the NBA.
33:56I'll tell you as well, we talked about Raiders.
33:59They chopped Tom Telesco, finished.
34:02And the 49ers are expected to offer Robert Sala
34:06his job back as defensive coordinator
34:08if the other head coaching opportunities fall through.
34:11You could start drawing up the papers
34:13cause I got a feeling the other head coaching opportunities
34:15will fall through.
34:16So you can start putting the offer together.
34:19I don't see him getting another job right away.
34:22People already got a feel of him as a head coach.
34:25He's perfect as a defensive coordinator and nothing more.
34:28So as you look with 14 teams left,
34:32there are five that stand above the rest.
34:35Lions, Chiefs, Ravens, Bills, and Eagles
34:38are all in the seven to one range or less.
34:41And then the Vikings are 14 and everyone else
34:45well beyond that down the board on the Super Bowl odd list.
34:49There's the rest of them, the big numbers down there.
34:51Steelers and Broncos at the bottom.
34:55Is it those top five?
34:56Is it gonna be one of those five teams
34:59that have the highest odds?
35:00Or is somebody from that other list going to break through?
35:04Well, I guess, you know,
35:07I'm hopeful that there's a chance for an upset
35:11would be remote, but I think it would be fantastic
35:14to see Orange Sherbert and the Chargers and that defense
35:17go to Arrowhead and knock off the Chiefs
35:20and force them out.
35:23I say it's highly unlikely because they never lose.
35:26So right now to me, it still looks like Eagles,
35:30Lions, and Bills and Chiefs to me.
35:34That's your, those are your title games.
35:36They have tremendous advantage.
35:38These high seeds playing all these games at home
35:41in places that they don't lose.
35:44Kansas City doesn't lose at Arrowhead.
35:46In front of that rock is 85,000.
35:49Buffalo doesn't lose in the B-low.
35:52And frankly, the Lions are the best team in the NFL
35:57in terms of offense.
35:59They're the most exciting explosive team in the NFL.
36:01So I would think they got a dramatic advantage at home
36:05on that fast track at Ford Field.
36:07And then Philadelphia has got Barkley and a great defense
36:10and that's where they're gonna go.
36:11So good luck beating those teams.
