00:00Meanwhile, the General Security of Military Information Agreement between the Philippines and the United States was strengthened.

00:09This was the help of Defense Secretary Dibuto Doro and U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin.

00:20Angelique, the U.S. forces will also help in humanitarian aid for the re-emergence of the Filipinos in the Philippines.

00:26In the recent typhoons that hit the country, particularly the super typhoon Tipito,

00:32this is what U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin III said during his visit here today.

00:38In Los Angeles, Austin arrived at Camp Aguinaldo earlier,

00:41where he was joined by DND Secretary Gilberto Chodoro for a bilateral meeting.

00:46With their help, Angelique, the U.S. and the Philippines will re-study the bilateral cooperation of the two countries.

00:54This will continue to lay down future plans such as security sector assistance roadmap, bilateral strategic dialogue and other mechanisms.

01:02The General Security of Military Information Agreement or GSOMIA was also added earlier,

01:07which is a legal framework negotiated and concluded between the Philippines and the United States government.

01:13This agreement, Angelique, provides the most comprehensive and timely sharing of information and defense technology cooperation between the U.S. and the Philippines.

01:22GSOMIA is a legally binding bilateral agreement between the U.S. and the Philippines,

01:27one-to-one foundational agreements for other potential security agreements.

01:32It is not in the interest of the agreement to share information of any country,

01:36because it aims to make it easier to share information if needed.

01:42There is no expiration of the agreement, but this agreement can be suspended.

01:46Austin and Chodoro led the groundbreaking ceremony of the Combined Coordination Center or CCC.

01:54This afternoon, Austin was able to assist President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.

02:00Tomorrow, he will visit the Western Command of the Armed Forces of the Philippines in Palawan.
