00:00Let's get into our pick five, Alexa, and let's start in race number seven.
00:07I'll kick things off with the number one, Ambitiously Placed, who has won four in a
00:11row and actually six in a row on a fast dirt track.
00:15This is a horse who is just really sharp, can win on the lead, can sit off the pace
00:19a little bit, one that you want to throw in your pick fives.
00:22We'll also include the five, Literary.
00:24This is another horse who is really, really sharp.
00:27Literary won last time out, two starts back lost to a horse named Xena, who's basically
00:32won three in a row on the lead.
00:34And prior to that, Literary had strung together multiple wins.
00:38So another really sharp horse that we have to throw in the mix, who's won four out of
00:42the last five.
00:43Alexa, I'll hand the baton to you to talk about our others.
00:46Yeah, we're also going to include the number six, Jubilant Joanie, has been traveling a
00:51ton this year, starting at Oakland over in Hot Springs and moving to Louisiana Downs
00:56and then the West Coast for two wins in the summer at Delmar and then a second place effort
01:01last out at Santa Anita.
01:03Should be a part of the early pace in here and maybe at an advantage drawing to the inside
01:07of the quick shipper, Tennessee Moon, the number seven, who we're also going to include
01:12at six to one odds.
01:13Tennessee Moon is a bit of a wild card in here, shipping in from Arapahoe Park in Colorado,
01:18has set the pace, both sprinting and routing, and has won six straight races at Delta Downs
01:23during the 23 to 24 winter meet.
01:26So this will be the 16th start of the year.
01:29She's coming off a stakes win going long.
01:31I think she'll be the pace setter.
01:32And it's very similar to the Breeders' Cup and when you have so many horses coming from
01:36so many different tracks, so many different surfaces, you really don't know how they're
01:40all going to stack up.
01:41This is a horse who's been facing softer but has been winning so easily, so impressively
01:45that we don't know if they can step up and get the lead against better like this.
01:49So that's where something's got to give in a race like this.
01:52We'll use one, five, six, and seven.
01:54Alexa, as we move to race number eight, five and a half furlongs on the turf course, you're
01:58going to get us started in here.
01:59Yeah, we're going to use the number one, Balsa, at eight to one morning line odds.
02:03Pretty recently switched to turf as her primary surface, and I think just found her stride
02:07as one at three out of five turf starts since this summer, and figures are just continually
02:12improving.
02:13This will be a tougher crowd, but the figures that she's running are more than competitive.
02:17She has a really fast bullet work to back it all up.
02:22Race number four, Cotton, at eight to one odds is another one we'll be using, coming
02:25off a nice win up at Woodbine.
02:28He's hit the board in over half of his 30 starts.
02:30He prefers to be part of the early pace and either lead or press the pace and then grind
02:35them down at the end.
02:37But I really like the word in the running line from his last race, relentless, and got
02:42up late.
02:43That's the kind of horse that you want any day, one that's not a quitter and wants to
02:46win.
02:47Yeah, can sit close, can also pass horses.
02:49That's very key in this race because it doesn't seem like there's that much early speed for
02:53this type of a turf sprint.
02:55The number five final verdict, probably one of the horses to beat in here, can sit close
02:59and that could be really key in here.
03:01Comes out of a sharp race, two starts back at Saratoga, so was facing some really nice
03:05horses.
03:06And then midday image, the number seven will be our next one.
03:09If you look at some of the races that he's coming out of, he's faced Determined Kingdom,
03:13who got a 99 buyer speed figure, which is like one of the daily racing form speed figures
03:18that they use.
03:19That is a huge number.
03:20We've got him facing horses like Jean Valjean, who came back and ran really well against
03:24Stakes Company at Belmont.
03:26So we're talking about horses who have been facing a lot better, Alexa, like midday image.
03:31We move to the ninth race.
03:33You're going to get us started again in the ninth and let the folks know who do we have
03:36to begin.
03:37Yeah, we'll use the eight Global Sensation two to one odds, going to be the likely pace
03:41setter in this race with a fast pace, has won four out of five last starts.
03:46And the one he lost was only by a head.
03:48And his last race was the one he lost by that head.
03:51I mean, he just almost hung on for a win, but got nailed and it was favoring closers
03:55that day.
03:56So the fact that he did hang on and almost keep the win, it just upgrades that performance
04:01for me.
04:02And this horse, since we're talking about claiming so much today, is just like a true
04:05claiming success story.
04:07You know, when you're claiming a horse, there's not as much blue skies opportunity as if you're
04:12buying a horse, who's never raced at a sale, like you kind of have an idea of what this
04:15horse is capable of.
04:17So basically, you're probably not going to claim the Kentucky Derby winner.
04:21But what you can do is look for a horse who maybe has been mismanaged, or you think you
04:25could add different equipment or try them on a different surface and, and try something
04:29different that will just elevate that horse.
04:31And that's exactly what happened here.
04:33They claimed him, moved him from turf and synthetic to dirt.
04:36And he's just been a machine ever since running really good figures and winning almost every
04:40race.
04:41We'll also use the number 11 Gunner Bay, who's just been sharp as of late, more like more
04:46of a closer in here.
04:47And that could be really key.
04:48So a horse that's going to be coming from off the pace, making the third start of the
04:51form cycle and have some legitimate sneaky trouble last time out.
04:54He wasn't that far behind Global Sensation in that very same race.
04:58So we'll use those two horses coming out of the same race last time out over at Keeneland.
05:04Let's move to race number 10.
05:06Alexa, you're going to get us started in here.
05:08This one is a mile and an eighth on the main track.
05:10Talk to us about who we're going to use to get started.
05:12Yeah, we're gonna have a long shot in this leg.
05:15Number six, Guntown, 12 to 1 morning line odds.
05:18And the time from U.S. finished projector there does have a finishing second.
05:22He's a closer with the second best late pace rating in the race.
05:25It's been a while since he's found the winner's circle.
05:28He lost all eight of his races so far this year, but he's been going up really tough
05:32competition in grade twos, grade threes, and running really consistent figures every time.
05:37So to me, when I look at those PPs, it looks like he's in need of a class relief, and that's
05:41what they're giving him here.
05:42So I think this race is wide open, but you got to use some valid prices, and he's a valid price.
05:47As you see with the time from U.S. pace projector, there is absolutely no early speed in this race.
05:53So I think we needed to use horses that can sit close.
05:56Bourbon Day sat really close last time out, crushed a field in a race that was taken off the turf.
06:01And then Laughing Boy, the number nine, he's the horse who's going to be on the lead.
06:05So we want to use him just in case he gets brave out front and keeps going at a very
06:09fair price of 12 to 1.
06:11So that's races 7 through 10.
06:13We already talked about race number 11.
06:15Why don't you recap the picks for us in that one, Alexa?
06:18Yeah, we're using three in here.
06:19The number eight, Segoy, the 2 to 1 valid favorite.
06:23The number nine, Echo Lane, Gino's long shot, who's been facing some tougher competition.
06:28And the 11, Good Governance, class dropper, who's going to be late on the scene with a close.
06:33And we put it all together.
06:34It's a $144 ticket.
06:36It's a ticket where we didn't have any singles this week because it is really challenging.
06:40I saw some other handicappers.
06:42They said the same exact thing.
06:43You are going to have a tough time shortening up in these races because you really need
06:48to spread out.
06:49There's a look at that pick five ticket.
06:51Can we do it two weeks in a row?
