00:00The importance of being quick is what the NDRRMC pointed out in their preparation for the effects of the Marseille earthquake.

00:21The local government ordered that the Marseille earthquake may affect the implementation of forced evacuations in areas where it is difficult to reach for help and rescuers when calamity strikes,

00:34said Defense Secretary Guilbot Teodoro, who is also the chairperson of the NDRRMC.

00:40It is better to be quick so that many lives can be saved from the disaster.

00:46That is the judgment call of the local disaster risk reduction and management councils.

00:52But the thing is, the earlier the better for us.

00:58I mean, it's no problem to err on the side of caution.

01:02Even if it doesn't rain, everyone is there, at least they are safe.

01:06According to the DNR, the Ilocos Region, Cagayan Valley, and Cordillera are areas of concern.

01:12The Mines and Geosciences Bureau of the agency is also monitoring the forecast of rainfall

01:18to alert the barangays that are landslide and flood-prone areas.

01:22We are giving the list of those barangays here in the OCD

01:28so that they can spread and distribute the information about the so-called likely scenario.

01:36I hope that our local officials will use this to make a decision on pre-emptive evacuation

01:46and where our barangays in the local government should be safer.

01:56The LGUs also need a centralized drop-off point for relief goods and non-food items.

02:04The DSWD has prepared 300,000 family food packs for those affected by the Mars earthquake,

02:12from more than 1 million stockpiles of family food packs,

02:16while also activating their repacking station in Central Luzon

02:20so that assistance can be delivered quickly to the north of Luzon.

02:24Right now, even though we are preparing for the Mars earthquake,

02:28our relief operations are still ongoing, especially in the Bicol Region.

02:32So, the DSWD is constantly monitoring the different evacuation centers that were built.

02:38300 search and rescue teams of the AFP are on standby for the Mars earthquake

02:44and are also preparing airlift capabilities,

02:47including Black Hawk helicopters, for the delivery of food and non-food items.

02:52The security operations of the Armed Forces of the Philippines are not absent

02:57despite the assistance in the earthquake.
