The Block AU S20 Episode 44 - Backyard Reveal
Transcript
00:00:00Previously, our blockheads kicked off back yard way.
00:00:04Maddest chaos.
00:00:05I've never seen so many trucks, so many guys, so many pieces of machinery and equipment
00:00:11operating in the one place.
00:00:14One team failed to keep up.
00:00:16They've turned around the delivery for the timber, for the steel, for everything that
00:00:20we ordered from Minotown.
00:00:21Because of the congestion in the driveway.
00:00:23Deliveries affects us at the back of the block at the moment.
00:00:26Nothing's getting through.
00:00:27They faced one setback after another.
00:00:30What's this idea about you're not getting delivery of plants?
00:00:34We were under the impression that all our plants were sorted.
00:00:37Clay's trying really hard to stay on top of everything.
00:00:39Apparently that was not quite the case.
00:00:41There's a lot of work to be done back there, that's for sure.
00:00:44Tonight, it's the final push to reveal, but Carly and Brad fall even further behind.
00:00:53Everyone else's yards are developing and ours isn't.
00:00:56It's a pretty dire situation.
00:00:57A major problem is found in house one.
00:01:00Can't be revealed.
00:01:01No, it's got to go.
00:01:02What?
00:01:03Sorry guys.
00:01:04The boys have put so much hard work in and I can't afford this mistake.
00:01:08And the backyards are revealed to the judges.
00:01:11Oh my God.
00:01:13What on earth?
00:01:15With special guest and landscape guru, Dave Franklin, joining the lineup.
00:01:19As soon as you walk in, you're drawn to it.
00:01:22It does scream resort.
00:01:23No offence, but it's just landscaping.
00:01:25What we're seeing is a really poorly planned, uninviting space.
00:01:47Saturday on the block is crazy every week, but backyard week is just another story.
00:01:55There is so many people.
00:02:00You have people working on top of each other.
00:02:02The landscapers are running around trying to plant trees and there's heaps of them.
00:02:06And we're trying to dig holes to help them.
00:02:08You have people coming in for the pool.
00:02:11You have the dream court going in.
00:02:15There was just a million things happening.
00:02:17Baby, don't you...
00:02:20Matty and Charlotte's backyard stretches across 448 square metres in size.
00:02:25It will include a half-sized basketball court and recreation area,
00:02:29as well as a spiral staircase to the mezzanine of their home.
00:02:33Around the corner will be their above-ground pool, a deck and an outdoor kitchen,
00:02:38as well as a dining and lounge area, a fire pit area with a pizza oven,
00:02:42and a deck off the main suite.
00:02:45Oh, it is very frantic.
00:02:47We've got all our carpenters giving us a chop out here for the decking.
00:02:49Plenty of decking to go.
00:02:51We've also got a barbecue area going in, which is really pretty cool.
00:02:54We're going to be racy for this one, I think.
00:02:56We always want to do an outdoor kitchen.
00:02:58Like, fridge, a sink and a barbecue all in one.
00:03:01We're like, we'll do it ourselves.
00:03:03And then we're like, oh, we need to put a bench top on it.
00:03:07Madeline went to go and pick up stone from like an hour and a half away.
00:03:12Because we got decked on quoted and it was going to be six grand,
00:03:15and we cannot afford that.
00:03:17Our budget is looking very tight.
00:03:19Front yard is going to be very minimalistic.
00:03:22So, yeah, not looking great.
00:03:25We have to win this week.
00:03:30Next door in house two is Courtney and Grant's 403-square-metre backyard.
00:03:34It will feature a large deck off their living area
00:03:37with an undercover barbecue, dining and lounge space,
00:03:40as well as a pizza oven.
00:03:42There'll also be a fire pit area, a pool with sun deck,
00:03:45and an additional seating area with an outdoor fireplace.
00:03:58Saturday morning, we're off and running.
00:04:00We've got our new plants all laid out in the ground.
00:04:03They're ready to be put in.
00:04:05The mulch is ready to be installed.
00:04:08And the turf is waiting to be rolled out nice and fresh.
00:04:11Feeling really good. Feeling really good. We're in a good position.
00:04:14We looked around last night and we're very happy with what we've produced.
00:04:17We're in a good spot. So we're happy. Very happy.
00:04:20I'm happy. Believe it or not.
00:04:30Mate, this has come along nicely.
00:04:32Thank you. Thank you.
00:04:34Very chilled vibes over in house two. We're good.
00:04:37We're in a good spot. Very chilled vibes.
00:04:40Dan thinks we're in a good position. I think we're looking good.
00:04:44It feels nice and calming.
00:04:47I feel like we're in a good spot.
00:04:50We've still got a bit to do tonight, but it's doable.
00:04:54So with house two in such a good spot,
00:04:57they're the first to get their pool filled
00:05:00with one final step to go.
00:05:02Miles, how are you, mate? Good. How are you doing?
00:05:06Pouring in some of these revived minerals by Porite.
00:05:09And that's, I guess, instead of doing chlorine, this is a lot healthier?
00:05:12Yeah, yeah. So gone are the days of the red ice.
00:05:15These actually help you maintain the balance in the pool.
00:05:18They're actually good for your skin and hair.
00:05:21That's awesome, mate. All right. We'll leave you to it.
00:05:24Welcome to our garden.
00:05:26It's time to begin. I'm counting in.
00:05:28Five, six, seven, eight.
00:05:30The boys' backyard is a massive 488 square metres in size.
00:05:34It will feature their large wraparound lawn,
00:05:37a deck off their main bedroom, a large swing set
00:05:40and their huge plunging pool and deck area
00:05:43with a mosaic feature wall behind it.
00:05:46The boys are teddy landscaping, hammering away, getting the edging done.
00:05:49Turf's getting laid. Tons of pots to go in.
00:05:52Plenty of turf here.
00:05:54Your outdoor deck off the main bedroom.
00:05:57More turf. Cricket pitch turf.
00:05:59Yeah, we've got to finish off the turf, finish off this deck here,
00:06:02finish off the deck over the other side and then furnish it.
00:06:06No landscaping, no problems.
00:06:08R&H, we got this.
00:06:10Five, six, seven, eight.
00:06:12Next door in house four, Carly and Brad have the smallest backyard
00:06:15at 378 square metres.
00:06:18Their space includes their stone cladded pool,
00:06:21a timber boardwalk and large stone pavers.
00:06:24They'll also have a fire pit area with their curved concrete bench
00:06:29as well as a narrow yard leading around to the side of the property
00:06:32where they'll have a lawn plus a private entrance
00:06:35to the communal tennis court.
00:06:38What's happening with your landscaping?
00:06:48Next question.
00:06:51I don't know what's happening.
00:06:54Not much.
00:06:57There's a lot to do and everyone else's yards are developing
00:07:01and ours isn't.
00:07:03I'm concerned and it stresses Brad out, so...
00:07:08Where are we? Where are we at? What are we doing?
00:07:11We're going to try and get this as presentable as we can for you, mate.
00:07:14We're going to just do what we can.
00:07:18Yeah, it's a pretty dire situation.
00:07:21Yeah.
00:07:23We're significantly behind in the backyard.
00:07:26There's been huge amounts of construction going on there still.
00:07:29I know you're stressed out, mate, so am I,
00:07:32but come on, I want to get this done for you.
00:07:35Yeah, I know.
00:07:37My priorities are just to look after you as best I can
00:07:40and try and get you through as best I can, OK?
00:07:43There's always a way, if we just put our heads together
00:07:46and our minds to it and work together, we're going to get stuff done.
00:07:49Look, yeah, look, we're behind.
00:07:52There's no other way to describe it.
00:07:56We're working to a semi-limited budget,
00:07:59so we're doing the very best we can,
00:08:02but I'm not going to give up. I'm not going to give up on Brad and Kylie.
00:08:05We're just going to do our best to get it done, so...
00:08:08So we've got 890 kilos of steel edging we've got to put somewhere.
00:08:11Yeah. I'll tell you what, if you can just... I'll get Longy up here.
00:08:14If you can work with him on getting a spot, I'll get it in here.
00:08:17All right, do that. Let's do that. Let's get through today. Come on.
00:08:20Clay sort of said that,
00:08:23no, like, no matter what, I'm backing you guys.
00:08:26He wanted to finish that.
00:08:29I'm going to make sure that you have a garden to finish,
00:08:32like, I'm not leaving it like this.
00:08:35But definitely getting worried about running behind
00:08:38or even getting it done.
00:08:45Over in House 5, it's the biggest backyard on the block.
00:08:48Coming in at 552 square metres,
00:08:51Christian and Mimi's yard features a pool
00:08:54surrounded by a timber deck and a separate dining area
00:08:57with a drinks bar.
00:09:00Then there'll be a curvy path leading to the other side of the house
00:09:03where they're putting a basketball court, a fire pit and a seating area.
00:09:06Today, we need to finish off the garden lights.
00:09:09We've got lawn coming.
00:09:12We've got more soil. We've got mulching.
00:09:16Swimming pool needs to be grouted
00:09:19and cleaned and filled.
00:09:22We've got fences going in.
00:09:25We've got to clean. We've got to style.
00:09:28There's so much work to do.
00:09:31And where were you on Saturday, Mimi?
00:09:34Um, I had an event
00:09:37that I went to.
00:09:40Don't stop, stop the music
00:09:44We were passing like a bullet
00:09:47He just tours and he just plays Disney
00:09:50and Nickelodeon music.
00:09:53And I was losing my mind.
00:09:56I'm trying.
00:10:07But you raced back to the block. You were there for pre-start?
00:10:10I was not there for pre-start. I came at midday.
00:10:14Doesn't matter where or when there's trouble
00:10:17If you just call my name
00:10:20Impossible
00:10:23Call me, text me, if you want to reach me, when you want to page me
00:10:26It's okay when we're together, you need me, baby
00:10:29Best night ever.
00:10:32Good afternoon.
00:10:35I told you to be home before midnight.
00:10:38It's not midnight.
00:10:42You're turning into a pumpkin.
00:10:45But at least you did something productive after.
00:10:48Ah!
00:10:51Mimi, Mimi!
00:10:54Coming up, Dan and Simo
00:10:57uncover a huge problem in house one.
00:11:00Where'd you get this stuff from?
00:11:03It's no longer produced, manufactured, shipped in to Australia.
00:11:06So I don't even know how the girls got it here.
00:11:09Without a benchtop, you've taken yourself out of the running to win.
00:11:22It's Saturday afternoon of Backyard Week
00:11:25and our blockheads are busy tackling some of the largest spaces we've seen this season.
00:11:34And amongst the mayhem, the modular walls are going up.
00:11:38The divide, the divide of house three and four.
00:11:41And the pool cleaners are going in.
00:11:44What's up, mate? Dan.
00:11:47Is this the robot we're talking about?
00:11:50Yeah, this is the one.
00:11:53Mate, explain to me, obviously it cleans pools, but what's so special about it?
00:11:56It's got a double filtration system, cleans the walls, the floors, and the tile line.
00:11:59And the tile line? And the tile line.
00:12:02Comes up all the way, that's pretty impressive.
00:12:06So it knows where it's going in the pool.
00:12:09Yep, that's right. That's amazing.
00:12:12Meanwhile in house four, the finish line is still nowhere in sight.
00:12:15Absolute pig store.
00:12:18We need to get this done.
00:12:21It's not going to get done. And even if we do, it's going to look like s***.
00:12:24But there's one trade who's heard their struggles
00:12:27and he's on his way to offer a hand.
00:12:30Clay. How are you? Good to see you.
00:12:34Miles behind where the other dog's, mate.
00:12:37Yeah, that's right. What have you still got to do?
00:12:40We've got to mount the soil to come in. I've got all my steel edging here ready to go.
00:12:43We've got the plants. Really just three quarter bits of lawn.
00:12:46Well, we've just got to finish off some lawn.
00:12:49I can come down and help you move some soil in here.
00:12:52Oh, really? I'll give you a chopper.
00:12:55Just tell me what I can do in return.
00:12:58As soon as that soil comes here, just give us a call.
00:13:02We'll come down with half a dozen barrels and start burrowing it in for you.
00:13:05Are you serious? Yeah, absolutely. I don't even know what to say.
00:13:08We want everyone to finish. It's full on, you know what I mean?
00:13:11It kicks you in the guts, mate.
00:13:14They're a long, long, long way away.
00:13:17So yeah, of course, if we can help, of course we're going to help.
00:13:20Being a new trade on the block is no joke.
00:13:23And to be a new trade in landscaping is...
00:13:26I can understand.
00:13:30It would be so overwhelming because you have a plan,
00:13:33but things don't go to plan.
00:13:36You're also trying to do a month's job in one week.
00:13:39They're going to help us.
00:13:42We're going to come and help you.
00:13:45We'll just come and help you move all your soil in and we'll get all your turf laid for you.
00:13:51He's miles off and he's flat as a tack.
00:13:54If we can help out, if it's an hour, two hours, three hours,
00:13:57we'll just come and get it done for you.
00:14:00Thanks, Troy. Really appreciate it.
00:14:03Troy's heard the struggles with clay
00:14:06and we need to catch up from all of the little hiccups along the way, I guess.
00:14:11The minute Soilworks come and dropped off all our topsoil,
00:14:14what him and four other boys were down there wheelbarrowing it in.
00:14:17Where do you want it?
00:14:20Just in the slot, boys. Thanks.
00:14:24Because he has done the block a few times now,
00:14:27he just got in there and was even just like to Clay,
00:14:30you're doing this, you're doing that, you're doing that.
00:14:33Brad and I were in there getting advised about what we need to be doing
00:14:36because we don't landscape.
00:14:39So all of us doing that, it was probably done in less than two hours.
00:14:42It just kind of turned around.
00:14:45Excellent. Massive help.
00:14:49I'm going to let you finish off now, all right?
00:14:52You've done amazing and full credit to you for today
00:14:55and how you've gone so far.
00:14:58All good, mate. Thank you.
00:15:01Massive effort by Troy from the other day.
00:15:04He didn't have to do that.
00:15:07He could have just, you know, he's finished, he's got a good team.
00:15:10It's a big team. He could have just left it as it is
00:15:13but just came down and gave us a massive chop out
00:15:17and credit where credit's due. Good bloke.
00:15:20If anyone lives in the western suburbs,
00:15:23I'd definitely get him his goody **** together.
00:15:31I picked up these pieces of stone
00:15:34because we got a quote at the beginning of the week
00:15:37and it was like six grand.
00:15:40I had to go searching
00:15:44and I got a Caesar stone, like outdoor stone thingy
00:15:47for like literally one-fifth of the price.
00:15:50So, yeah, this should be fun.
00:15:53I assume that we need to secure the bottom
00:15:56before we secure the join, you know?
00:15:59So we're in the process of installing it
00:16:02and Dan and Simo came over.
00:16:05Oh, no. Here we go. Here's the trouble.
00:16:08And that's when I was like, oh, crap.
00:16:14They looked at the stone. What's wrong with it?
00:16:17I don't know. You're about to find out.
00:16:20It's going in now.
00:16:23It's a major problem. What's the problem?
00:16:26Caesar stone. Where'd you get this stuff from?
00:16:29Um... It's a banned product.
00:16:32Banned product. Really?
00:16:35It's a banned product. Yeah.
00:16:38Even though we haven't cut it on site or anything?
00:16:41Any product with silica in it has been banned with a high percentage
00:16:44and this bench top has like 70% of it in there.
00:16:47So it's no longer produced,
00:16:50manufactured, shipped in to Australia.
00:16:53So I don't even know how the girls got it here, surprisingly.
00:16:56Well, it's the only thing they got at cheap.
00:17:02So we're going to have to get rid of it.
00:17:05Can we just leave it for the moment? What's that?
00:17:09Sorry, guys.
00:17:15It's like 5.30 now on a Saturday
00:17:18and we have no backup.
00:17:21Essentially, if you present a room without a bench top,
00:17:24you're taking yourself out of the running to win.
00:17:27Dang it. Have you got any spare tiles?
00:17:30Yeah.
00:17:33Curious you guys are just leaving, whether you want to twist their arm.
00:17:37Get some Skylon down and tile it.
00:17:40Can we give them a few more hours for tools?
00:17:43An hour or so? Yeah, I'll give you another hour or so.
00:17:46It was tools down at 5 o'clock.
00:17:49We're going to give them till 6, 6.30.
00:17:52Hopefully they can get it solved. I don't know.
00:17:55Hello? Hello, hello.
00:17:58It's Charlotte from House One of the Block. How are you going?
00:18:01Good. How are you doing? Not so good. Are you still here?
00:18:05We're just driving out of the car park.
00:18:08We just put in our Caesarstone bench top
00:18:11and we got told that we're not allowed to put in Caesarstone.
00:18:14Now what?
00:18:17Our only other option is to tile.
00:18:20OK. I'll just come back and have a look
00:18:23and see if there's something we can do. OK, amazing. Thanks so much.
00:18:26So hopefully we can come up with some sort of
00:18:29pattern with leftover tiles.
00:18:33What's going in these openings?
00:18:36Barbecue and sink.
00:18:39Oh, wow.
00:18:42But the problem with tiling is that you need a substrate
00:18:45to obviously lay tiles on.
00:18:48And that's something we didn't have.
00:18:53I just don't have that material to do the substrate properly.
00:18:56That's my problem.
00:18:59We're going to spend money now doing it all
00:19:03and rip it all out and do it again.
00:19:06And time? What have we got, some seven?
00:19:09Yeah, to make noise.
00:19:12I don't think it's worth it.
00:19:15I'll just get it marked down and do it properly for the sale of the house.
00:19:18So my thing would be
00:19:21first you can quickly cut ply and then you can just drop the barbecue in there
00:19:24so it looks like what it is.
00:19:27Like unfinished, I know.
00:19:30So there's no chance of winning then?
00:19:33So you're going to do all this for 10 grand, you're going to pay for these guys to help
00:19:36and everyone else, or at least finish everything else
00:19:39because Ryan's pushing it, so you get another two boys helping him.
00:19:42So I'm like, I'll be blunt, you're not going to do it.
00:19:45He's being honest, yeah, that's it.
00:19:48Seriously, you're going to waste your time, let's do it properly.
00:19:51This makes me so sad.
00:19:54The plan is to put V-groove down instead
00:19:58and just prepare everything else, just keep going along,
00:20:01not waste too much time on it.
00:20:04It sucks because you just completely
00:20:07take yourself out of winning.
00:20:10The boys have put so much hard work in
00:20:13and you want to do everyone proud
00:20:16and it just sucks.
00:20:19I can't afford this mistake.
00:20:22We're going to have to replace it anyway and I just can't afford it.
00:20:26I drove four hours today to get that
00:20:29and everyone else has put so much hard work in
00:20:32and just to not deliver something finished just sucks.
00:20:35I'm just sad for everyone
00:20:38who's put so much work into this.
00:20:56How was your night?
00:20:59Long and tiring and wet.
00:21:02Did you get any sleep at all?
00:21:05I got an hour, we both got an hour each, we tag teamed.
00:21:08The stone was a disaster but we got a temporary feeling.
00:21:11For something that's not meant to be a bench top,
00:21:14I reckon it looks quite nice.
00:21:26What have you got left to do this morning?
00:21:29Get everything out.
00:21:32How are you feeling this morning?
00:21:35Deflated, it's like our third or fourth space
00:21:38now in a row that we haven't completely finished.
00:21:41I'd like to be further along but we are where we are.
00:21:44Garden lighting's not done.
00:21:47I would have liked to have done a bit more with the sides of the deck
00:21:50and you can only expect to do so much on such a big day.
00:21:56In my eyes,
00:21:59we've not even made it a quarter of the way.
00:22:12We pulled the pin around 2, 3 o'clock I think
00:22:15and got a few hours sleep and got up in the morning
00:22:18and finished everything off.
00:22:21What was left to do?
00:22:25One plant had to go in.
00:22:28We'll win now, that's for sure.
00:22:31We're one tree short.
00:22:34We're happy with the space considering we just landscaped
00:22:37300 squares of area
00:22:40and we don't even own a shovel.
00:22:43Or a rake.
00:22:50Do you feel like you can't finish anything
00:22:53without having a little argument?
00:22:56Oh, for sure.
00:23:00Why didn't you take the plastic off after I girded?
00:23:03I'm spraying mud and you pull them off.
00:23:06I asked you if I'm going to take them off.
00:23:09F*** you.
00:23:12It wouldn't be a room reveal without arguing at least five times.
00:23:15Courtney, get the f*** off the pavement.
00:23:18Shut up!
00:23:21Yes, we argue and she frustrates the absolute hell out of me.
00:23:25Give me a kiss.
00:23:32We mainly have to clean.
00:23:35I think we're just running on pure adrenaline.
00:23:39Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
00:23:42Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah!
00:23:45Let's do it.
00:23:46I don't want a brick at the bottom of you, Poole.
00:24:15We were still digging holes and mulching when it came to tools down.
00:24:30Tools down.
00:24:31Crazy.
00:24:32You did it.
00:24:33Give me a hug you.
00:24:34Smelly little man.
00:24:35Oh, it's so cold.
00:24:36It's cold.
00:24:37It was actually like four degrees.
00:24:38I did it give me a hug you smell a little man
00:24:52Let's go who's actually like four degrees
00:25:08Oh
00:25:22Everyone's quiet
00:25:28You're tired we're a bit sore mate you'd be quiet body certain where body's hurting
00:25:34Tell you what, I reckon you all deliver the best holiday home backyards ever the best on Phillip Island, I reckon
00:25:41Well done
00:25:42This week you will be judged out of 40
00:25:46Because our resident landscaping expert Dave Franklin judged alongside our regular judging panel
00:26:04You
00:26:21Tonight
00:26:22Is the last chance for you to take home ten thousand bucks from Ford?
00:26:28Won't that be a bonus
00:26:30Come your final landscaping week front facade because the team that wins front facade week is gonna take home for their personal driving
00:26:37pleasure
00:26:38Ford Mustang
00:26:40mark a
00:26:43What
00:26:45That's right. So that means it's even more important to win tonight. I put that money towards this
00:26:53You ready to go? Yeah
00:26:55Maddie and Charlotte
00:27:00I'd say this week was a bit of a debbie downer
00:27:04House one is the third biggest backyard with 448 square meters. We pulled our high pages Levi
00:27:16We need $10,000 from high pages
00:27:19Fantastic. We need all the hands on deck we can get it was so great having high pages helping us because I'm not sure we'd
00:27:25Be able to do it without
00:27:30My personal style is more coastal relax a little bit rustic. That's nice
00:27:35These are perfect and big. I want that one. You've got the yarn for it. Definitely
00:27:42All right, so we've got a range of decking boards here
00:27:44We've obviously got our water and narrow boards and a bunch of different species
00:27:48We've got like you spotted gum your black bar my house like super coastal and chill. So that lighter is my vibe
00:27:55So with our high pages lever, we also got $5,000 to put towards a special item or object
00:28:01Which we decided obviously would be a spiral staircase. They are finally going in
00:28:08It was perfect
00:28:21I
00:28:24Just love how like versatile the space is like I love that we have the kids own
00:28:28I love that. We have the external access. I love that. We have a pool area
00:28:33Pizza oven a fire pit. It's not just like one big space is like just heaps of just like cool pockets
00:28:42The first thing our judges noticed was the impressive size
00:28:47Oh
00:28:51Chase look how big this is
00:28:55Massive is a huge
00:28:59Native to Australian backyards. Oh, that's right
00:29:03I don't know about that. But thanks for having me someone that can actually pronounce the plants that have been installed
00:29:08Well a couple of plants. Anyway, we'll see how I go today
00:29:12And the fact that they've already got all these existing paperback trees
00:29:16It's just already provides a landscape for them. So we've got tea tree here. We've got lily-pilly. We've got the legends there
00:29:23So we've got a very coastal palette of trees here and we have a lot of lawn as well
00:29:27And we don't get to say this a lot on the block. This is a really
00:29:31heavy-hitting
00:29:33Big swing of a backyard
00:29:35It's week 11 on the block and Dave Franklin was saying both speed and budget in the barbecue and surrounds
00:29:43You had a bit of an issue with the bench top. Didn't you? Yeah, let's face it. It's not doing like a barbecue
00:29:49It's not quick. This is quick
00:29:51But it looks good. I
00:29:54Love how they've kept it really simple in their application here. I can just change it when it gets a bit rough because it's exterior
00:30:03Paneling simplicity, it looks incredible. It ties in beautifully with the exterior of the building and it looks good
00:30:11Marty Fox knows how to throw a party and for him what you've delivered is clearly an entertainers dream
00:30:19Having this element of being undercover makes it so useful
00:30:23This is all afternoon Sun
00:30:26So in terms of the position on the block
00:30:29Being on this side of the resort means that in those afternoons when you're having those barbecues with family
00:30:35You've got that beautiful light coming through. This is a real entertainers dream being on this side of the block. Look at this
00:30:42Sonos here. I actually just saw another one under here
00:30:45So
00:30:50If they moved out onto the lawn today
00:30:53China like the way the design of your zones throughout the garden
00:30:57Utilizes so many curves. We've got this beautiful rounded curve at the end of the deck
00:31:03We've got a little curve around the pizza oven and we've got rounded stepping stones
00:31:08We've got a curved seat and it
00:31:10Undulates and goes round and it snakes in and out in the garden beds rather than being just a straight edge
00:31:16Marty also could see a lot of thought had gone into the choice of plants, too
00:31:20They've created privacy through seeing how these plants will grow over time
00:31:24So with that main wing at the back having that row of ficus hilly I to just create that natural fence
00:31:37It's Lily Billy
00:31:41I
00:31:43Was so confident that that was a
00:31:46Not far off
00:31:49Just stick to real estate
00:31:51Anyway, that is so good for buyers because you're not creating segregation
00:31:55You'll have these elements of privacy, even though it's one big open space
00:31:59Which I really like the judges then found yet another seating area off the main bedroom
00:32:05Where you're ready set the scene for wine. Oh
00:32:08My goodness, can you imagine just sitting here in your main bedroom suites?
00:32:14Yes
00:32:16In the morning. What an oasis. It's beautiful
00:32:20China said the workmanship throughout this landscape is
00:32:24Phenomenal for a week. We haven't even seen the pool. No, like come on and the pool is all the way up there
00:32:38Up into the pool deck
00:32:40That stone is beautiful
00:32:42Yeah, Darren thinks it's very well finished off the timber matches that stone really beautifully
00:32:49It's a nice big plunge pool. They've got a nice big daybed here. It's lovely up here
00:32:54It's really quite lovely to be elevated with all the canopy of the treetops. This is the biggest play area
00:33:00Can we have a look at that?
00:33:03You
00:33:07You've got a basketball court yeah hitting me this is insane
00:33:12You've got a little sock in it. Look at this
00:33:17Then Marty found the spiral staircase from a marketing perspective as we've spoken about this being
00:33:23Something that could be leased at independently of the house. I mean, this is insane
00:33:28So outdoor kitchen outdoor lounge fire pit area
00:33:32Main wing retreat and a kid's basketball court with a swimming pool
00:33:37How do you actually do all that within one week to this standard? We were here last week. This was mud
00:33:46Shana takes her hat off to you both and to your entire team. The girls came in halfway through
00:33:53They've got this incredible build team and landscaping team the way they must have all worked together
00:33:59to produce this
00:34:02Is a machine this is three backyards in one
00:34:06design planning
00:34:08finish
00:34:09Amenity tick tick tick tick tick. That's it Matty and Charlotte
00:34:14I
00:34:17Mean feel good. We're very have very happy that we got like such positive feedback
00:34:21we're so happy for like our landscaping team and our like carpentry team like
00:34:26They smashed it. I did such a good job. We're just bummed that our stones in the work
00:34:38Okay house to Courtney and grab me
00:34:44This week was moist this week was wet and wild
00:34:51Yeah, I've loved landscape week I've worked in landscaping for the last few years
00:34:55I did it a lot when I was younger as well
00:34:57Always enjoyed being out in the garden house to has the second smallest backyard coming in at 403 square meters
00:35:03It's an entertainers yard. It's really cool
00:35:07The boys are just pouring the seat now
00:35:09We had a bit of a risk because they're gonna be forced to go outside at seven
00:35:13So if the seat doesn't like sort of set in time and they can't pull it off where?
00:35:17Not but the seat won't be what we thought it was
00:35:23Looks nice
00:35:26I'm excited that you've chosen one of our ovens Courtney. It's fantastic
00:35:30This works personally with our house because we've got like a lot of like the curves. It's like a modern Mediterranean houses
00:35:36Yeah, I was like we have to have it
00:35:39We've got a out of ground plunging pool where we are doing a travertine checkerboard tile
00:35:45so we've got the Imperial tile is again and
00:35:47We know they'll smash it. I kill it every time they're here
00:35:53Today I am shopping for some outdoor furniture from freedom. I've actually seen a really nice lounge package in store
00:36:01Which is called the Sonata so package. It's actually really cool. It goes with that that Mediterranean feel
00:36:09I hope the judges take away the fact that we married the indoors with the outdoors
00:36:17We managed to fit five separate entertaining areas
00:36:20In between the fire pit dining table lounge setting on the main deck
00:36:24We've got the deck seating and then you know
00:36:27We've got the master bedroom sort of two suites there
00:36:30and then we still have a huge amount of grass for kids to run around and play and kick a ball and
00:36:35Do whatever so I hope they take that away from it
00:36:38No, we've tried to make every space as user-friendly as possible
00:36:42It was drizzling rain when our judges walked into your backyard
00:36:45But that took away none of the impact
00:36:53Oh my god
00:36:55Wow
00:37:03I I literally thought a house one
00:37:06Had hit it out of the ballpark and I think we've got a contender
00:37:10How cool is this first of all barbecue of dreams?
00:37:14This is an outdoor kitchen. You know what? I'm looking at house one going. Oh, no, they didn't do that. That is phenomenal
00:37:22That is sexy I want it
00:37:26I'll have even styled inside the drawers. Have they been stolen?
00:37:37Dave Franklin said what is better than having olive trees lemon trees and even your bay leaf trees as well
00:37:43Everything that you need to cook for the barbecue is right here right in front of you
00:37:48Marty thinks this outdoor space is the hook for your campaign this indoor outdoor flow
00:37:54This is what people pay for this is what gets them emotionally connected to a property
00:37:59Envisaging themselves with all their family and friends feeling at home to me
00:38:03They've always known how to sell the dream and then moved on to the lounge area and found some really beautiful
00:38:09And very comfortable freedom furniture, but Marty wasn't entirely convinced about the eight posts
00:38:17For me this looks
00:38:19Unfinished this little walkway area, which is the journey from lounge to pool. Why is it unfinished?
00:38:24Well, I just would have thought that having slats over these eight posts with a beautiful vine creeping over it and hanging down would have
00:38:31Created that outdoor tunnel like a barber. Yeah, like a beautiful arbor like it for me
00:38:36This is the only thing that I'm questioning of feeling a little bit unfinished
00:38:41Dave Franklin disagrees
00:38:44Marty yeah, this is garden art. So there's nothing wrong with having poles with vines growing up and yeah
00:38:51I can see what you're saying with the arbor
00:38:53But my thing would be that if you put the arbor over this
00:38:56When it drops down the vines you're not seeing the pool and you're not saying the kids area
00:38:59I'm with Dave on that one. The judge is then headed down to your pool area
00:39:03To check out your plungy pool. I
00:39:06Love how they've used the posts as part of the pool fence. Just stunning. It's just gorgeous
00:39:14And it's so much bigger house one. Obviously, that was a pool that would service sort of two to three people max
00:39:21We could have six seven people
00:39:23Sitting here having a wine in the pool conversing with people on the grass
00:39:29This is a different
00:39:31Entertaining feel isn't it?
00:39:33Also above your head. Yeah, that's our that's awesome
00:39:37And the compliments kept coming from our judges
00:39:40There's a whole new area around there that's a true private private zone, isn't it?
00:39:46It's stunning the judges all love the outdoor firebox
00:39:51Where'd you get that from? I like that too shots man. Yeah, as soon as I saw it. I know I wanted it. Yeah
00:39:57It's pretty lucky. We have that modular wall to separate these houses because you would be looking over the fences with envy
00:40:05You'll be like man. I want what they've got the judges
00:40:09Completed their tour of your garden with yet another seating area around the fire pit
00:40:15And on the way that is covered a pizza oven and a smoker
00:40:21Wow
00:40:23So this is just value value value value value and amenity
00:40:27There's so many different functions from entertaining to just sitting around
00:40:33Enjoying the fire pit all the different cooking options
00:40:36It actually has a lot of use
00:40:39The curved seating and the paving around the fire pit has been executed perfectly and the color of it is divine
00:40:51So what is this day Wow, this looks like a limestone to me it's stunning
00:40:57There's so much time and money and planning that's gone into this space
00:41:03it's
00:41:04miraculous that it's this good in this time frame like
00:41:08Mind-blowing the connection that this house has for each one of these zones outside
00:41:13To be able to be in the fire pit area converse with people in the kitchen. See the kids in the pool
00:41:19This is very unique for an outdoor space of this size, isn't it? This is
00:41:2335 40 meters of perfection Dave agrees the finishes throughout the entire garden are literally perfect
00:41:32That is it. Thanks. Thank you
00:41:39Every you know garden room I walked into everything that I wanted them to realize and say I saw
00:41:46I'm so happy for you because I mean you love landscaping. So yeah, I'm just very glad that
00:41:51It all worked out and you know, you got positive feedback
00:41:54Yeah
00:41:56You can tell by the noise that the boys are back again, okay boys
00:42:10This week was expensive
00:42:14The body the mind the soul and the back
00:42:18You're gonna gun team coming on our NIH landscaping it's gonna be their first job though
00:42:23So when you say they're guns, they're novices and we're gonna give them a chance and they're exceptionally good-looking
00:42:29House three has the second biggest backyard for the size of 488 square meters
00:42:35I'm not sure how we gotta finish
00:42:39Some of us on freedoms website and I'm looking at furniture for our backyard
00:42:43I'm thinking that we need some nice side tables and an umbrella for the pool area
00:42:49I
00:42:50Come out to art fusion. Take a look some sculptures. Oh, that's just that just loses Phillip Island
00:42:57I just love it. I think we both saw the same one didn't we?
00:43:04Ricky's finishing off the swing set this morning. Is that a swing set with old?
00:43:08Ironbark a spotted gun spotted gun. Yeah. Wow. You've done a great job. Very hard. It's really true. So I took a little bit
00:43:14Oh, it's not a drill. It's pretty heavy to lift to
00:43:17So this is how we originally designed it was centered with a pool the last mosaic tile piece that's 7.1 meters by 1.4
00:43:2529,000 tiles
00:43:26Printed in Italy and shipped over
00:43:29Yeah, it's an epic face
00:43:38We hope they take away the sheer amount of land and space of turf that you've got which we think a real backyard should have
00:43:46Grass looks amazing deck looks fantastic. Plungy pool graphic. Oh the custom bar. It's all come together really nicely
00:43:53I think the judges will be impressed that not only did our own H landscaping come in late to the game
00:43:58But I reckon was executed well
00:44:03Walking in Dave Franklin immediately said this is a backyard. Oh
00:44:08Wow, where are we again?
00:44:10How's three Philip Island resort we could be anywhere right like that
00:44:15so the trees coming from the top of the building all the way down to the fence line and once these
00:44:20Lily pillory pillage row then you're gonna just be hemmed in with green with a green canopy above you
00:44:26This is like super private and that is a proper family backyard
00:44:32They did not have a landscaper from memory. So what? Yeah, they've done it themselves with Duncan
00:44:38So I saw him out there front last week and he said to me he goes
00:44:42Well, you know what?
00:44:42We're gonna go for all the grass as much as we can have a garden that's fit for a family really Dave said this is
00:44:48Not just grass
00:44:50This is Lily Dale turf
00:44:52So they're the best in the business and you can see how great this grass is here and you know what?
00:44:56This is a buffalo grass here. So this is tough. You can do cricket footy
00:45:01Whatever you like on this grass here Marty thinks this is not a bad move from a real estate perspective
00:45:06People can choose to
00:45:08Envisage their kids, you know running around and if they want to add things later they can
00:45:13Show you had a look on her face
00:45:17Here we go
00:45:19It just wasn't feeling it the same way as the other judges she wanted more I've just come from two
00:45:25Environments that had beautiful shapes to them and they felt
00:45:31Different and it makes sense now that the guys did it
00:45:33So we'll do a straight line do some courting still and we'll check everything on the sides
00:45:37That's sort of what it feels for me. I agree. It could do with some more layers
00:45:42Okay, but it might just sell the place because he can do whatever you like with this garden
00:45:47Darren Palmer thinks if you are minimizing the landscaping to concentrate on the carpentry
00:45:52Then you should have probably finished the deck
00:45:55I
00:45:57Can see the underside of the the battens underneath this deck up I can see the pedestals
00:46:03that's
00:46:04If you're gonna focus on one thing
00:46:07The carpentry should have been great, but China had to start apologizing to you when she turned the corner
00:46:24What I said around the corner, this is insane
00:46:29We've got swing set. We've got sculpture. We now have all the curves that makes sense. It's a football kick
00:46:36It makes sense. This is crazy. That's a very cool swing set, isn't it?
00:46:41That's like a 200 or 250 by 250 timber. There's no way that this is going to be shaking by look at
00:46:47You can jump on that
00:46:50Get on there for sure. I also realized you delivered the largest pool area. I had seen today
00:46:56Big thumbs up to the amazing plungy pools
00:46:59The biggest pool is a massive selling feature separates them from the others that we've seen
00:47:04It is the fun house like look we've got beach balls. We've got lilos
00:47:07The graphic hotels are certainly an interesting addition
00:47:10Well that graphic is really on the theme from inside the house with the wallpapers and they they have that
00:47:15Appeal of pulling in the palms and everything from outside inside and they've reflected that here as well
00:47:21It's consistent with the inside of the house in that it's fun. It's planned really beautifully for holiday living
00:47:27So I think it does what it's supposed to do just as well as the inside of the house does it's not a chic
00:47:33But it's fun. I
00:47:35Think that's the thing it ticks all the boxes of what a holiday house should be doing
00:47:39Like, you know, the kids will come in and go we can kick the footy. We can play cricket. We can go on the swings
00:47:45We've got beautiful art. We've got the pool. You can access it straight off the living area from the hallway
00:47:50It ticks so many great boxes
00:47:53It just doesn't have the finesse and the finishings if they had a professional landscaper, they would have sold the dream wall
00:48:00That's it boys. The fun factory is nearly complete
00:48:06We're really happy with the space but it's super hard to compete with guys have been working on their yards for months and months and months
00:48:12So I think our nature landscaping could be in trouble
00:48:26Okay, how's for Colin Bradge
00:48:31Here was me thinking that landscaping was gonna be fun house for has the smallest backyard coming in at
00:48:38378 square meters
00:48:42Has anyone opposed to us putting a gate into the tennis court, it's right there. I think a lot of people were a bit shocked
00:48:50That I even suggested it. I have no problem with it
00:48:57Freedom was wonderful. This is outdoor. They're all outdoor. I think
00:49:02That freedom have been like we have a girl that loves black. We need more black. There were black cushions black vases
00:49:09I'm glad they've waited till week 10. Yeah
00:49:13I
00:49:14Don't know how it's going. I don't think good
00:49:18Everyone seems very stressed very frazzled
00:49:21We were under the impression that all our plans were sorted and call I spoke to a couple of them and said yeah
00:49:27Look play has spoken to us, but he hasn't actually placed the orders
00:49:33Not that I've seen no no
00:49:35A
00:49:40Backyard goes from around the pool
00:49:43To the other end of the building the whole plan has been really low maintenance
00:49:48For it to be like more of a holiday home. It would have been nice to have had the extra cash to have the bigger deck
00:49:55but we are trying to
00:49:58Spread it tough week Colin Bradge
00:50:02So I can imagine how you're feeling this evening because you had a few dramas throughout the week didn't you
00:50:08First impressions were great
00:50:12That's a big pool it's a great size pool that's as big as the boys pool. Yeah. Yeah, it looks like it
00:50:18It's a major selling point isn't having this pool area of that living space like right there
00:50:24however
00:50:26It's a bit of a wasted opportunity given that we've got a small
00:50:30Area there and the rest of its kind of
00:50:33It no offense, but it's just landscaping. I was gonna say it just is giving me absolutely nothing
00:50:41I've got a runway of a boardwalk through here, and I've got another pathway on the side there
00:50:46I've got all these wasted space around here as well at the same time
00:50:49It might be a budget thing
00:50:51But there's no real big trees here that can have a canopy over it and this has got enough area around
00:50:56To put trees with canopies around the pool and while he liked the darkness of the pool. He wasn't a fan of the tiles I
00:51:04Don't love fake tiles that to me. He's killing every other stonemason in Australia right right now looking at that okay?
00:51:12Look, I'm sure it'll look great other elsewhere, but just on the pool here
00:51:16It's just too strong a pattern for me. It really just feels like a bit of a water feature even though. It's such a big
00:51:21Pool, I question
00:51:24The amount of decking the amount of sitting the amount of amenity that's in this space
00:51:29You have lots of walkways lots of different pipes and different materials
00:51:34But not a lot of function not a lot of enjoyable space basically increased the size of the deck
00:51:42Which I'm assuming you know to more money more time more labor. That was probably impossible
00:51:47Leaving the pool area it was clear to everyone that a lot of time and effort had gone into the fire pit seat
00:51:53So well done on that
00:51:55But they thought the ground around it is not executed as well as house to
00:52:02Needed some more papers because you're not walking over here in bare feet on the pool
00:52:06No, okay, so you're not walking on all this so it's not that inviting
00:52:09I think the idea is there this hasn't been finished off from remember to main bedroom suite is right there
00:52:15Remember to main bedroom suite is right there those doors look out to here, and they're gonna look straight into the pool equipment
00:52:22Which I know there's probably a surround plan for that. Yeah, we're not seeing it
00:52:27What we're seeing is that you're gonna see the pool equipment from the main bedroom
00:52:30And we need to judge what we're saying and what we're saying is just a really poorly planned
00:52:36uninviting space
00:52:38Clearly some time management issues around the rest of the garden to
00:52:42More unfinished steps on the other side of the main bedroom
00:52:46There's nothing about this that says come and hang in my backyard
00:52:50Look how excited we got in house one and two about all those different spaces to sit
00:52:55And talk and eat and share memories and all those amazing aspects of having a holiday home
00:53:00Yeah, and then you walk into this house, and they've just thought you know what let's not think of emotion
00:53:05Let's not think of marketing. Let's not think of the buyer because that's how it feels
00:53:09Yeah, I've just plunked things in without any consideration as to what people throw their hands up for come auction day
00:53:18You know what this house is still amazing wouldn't put me off buying this house I
00:53:24Think I there's some stuff. I want to do and change and fix, but it wouldn't put me off
00:53:28It's a beautiful looking house from the outside it actually has one of the two biggest pools on the block
00:53:34It has lots of room around it, and it's got access to the tennis court
00:53:38I think it's still gonna be really appealing. It's not as lifestyle focused as one two
00:53:45It's not as fun as three, but it's still bloody great house
00:53:48That's it Carly. I've read some tough comments. They're strong positives also only one way to go
00:53:59Yeah, it was a it was a tough week
00:54:03And yeah, there's definitely some things that we would have liked to have had finished, but
00:54:08I think there should have been maybe some earlier conversations about that. It was not gonna be able to be achieved
00:54:15It's just it is what it is
00:54:30Okay has five Christian and Mimi
00:54:33This week was organized chaos
00:54:38Five has the largest backyard that a whopping 552 square meters
00:54:45I'm off to Cambridge
00:54:53I definitely like gray yep, and the blue what everything
00:54:59I'm doing the landscape design
00:55:01I'm doing the landscaping for house five. I need to get lots of things. Can I get eight of those?
00:55:06Please four of those lounges two of those two of those and one of those. I just love spending other people's money
00:55:16Have exists, what's this like nine by six?
00:55:19They're very popular these basketball courts the kids still want to be able to shoot properly from a fair line and a three-point
00:55:26So anything underneath that they don't really like it
00:55:31I'm here today to show you about the LeBron automation switches the fun side of it
00:55:35You can create like a party scene you can use the app
00:55:38Yeah, and the lights that you want to come on will come on the music that you want to come on will come on
00:55:43Oh, that's awesome
00:55:45So we've organized your automation. Yeah, you can just go on to the app and press that button and it will work for you, okay?
00:55:56How good's that Oh change his color
00:56:00I
00:56:01Gotta get home. There's a garden to tend all the fruits on the ground the birds have all moved back into I absolutely love
00:56:08What we see it in our backyard young
00:56:11I think you can picture kids running around the pool, but having a swim
00:56:15Parents sitting back being able to watch them. I think it's all ties in really well together
00:56:23Walking into your backyard the faces of the judges were shocked
00:56:29In a good way
00:56:32Wow, that's dramatic. Oh look at the tiling. That is stunning Wow
00:56:39Another big pool. Yeah, and I love this mosaic tiling around it
00:56:44As soon as you walk in you're drawn to it. It does scream resort
00:56:48Even though it's just a small deck with two chairs
00:56:51You've got all the grass around there that you could lay on as well and be part of the pool environment
00:56:56They all love the piers wrapped in rope, that's very Phillip Island. I get makes you feel coastal
00:57:01It's like they've picked up a piece of Phillip Island. They've put it here in the landscaping for us. That's really effective
00:57:07Exactly Shannon thinks the color palette is excellent and the furniture around the pool is superb
00:57:14Cameron shoppers you yes, you've got the blue stone
00:57:17You got the travertine then you have this beautiful bluey gunmetal for the pool and then you have green
00:57:22So there's a lot of different textures and colors
00:57:25It's it's absolutely stunning tells nervous for these guys because this is the only space that's not directly off the living
00:57:32So this really has to be hit out of the ballpark. I think there's a whole nother half over the other side and down here
00:57:45They've loved the boats and discovered it was full of rum
00:57:49But isn't this cool so they've obviously grabbed it from you know
00:57:53Facebook market share or hopefully somewhere local around here cut this up put these here as a bar
00:57:59Lots of rum. So you feel like a pirate
00:58:03But with that with the people's it is coming back to fill upon a really nice touch
00:58:10perfect for a holiday home
00:58:12You were criticized heavily in the past few weeks for your layout and design to have a TV room
00:58:18Leading onto this space
00:58:21This has zero connection to
00:58:25Lifestyle outside
00:58:27Shouldn't this be a place that is pool friendly
00:58:30They could have done something interesting here with a tiled space that flowed out to the outdoors
00:58:36Because of this big sliding door
00:58:38It could have actually read as an indoor outdoor alfresco space that continued on to the outdoors
00:58:43And while this garden is amazing and all the judges thought so that came up again today
00:58:48Did they get it wrong or did they get it right now?
00:58:52Looking at the space Marty thinks the TV room needs a fridge etc to service the dining area
00:58:58the the big issue that the fire will actually face when inspecting is they see a big dining table and
00:59:04They think to themselves great dinner parties or entertaining, but it is such a long walk from the kitchen
00:59:10Yeah, that this is actually quite a difficult place to entertain people over dinner. Where's the Barbie? There is no barbie
00:59:17That's a smoker. Did you win the wolf barbecue? Yes, we did. Where is the wolf barbecue going on the back?
00:59:24I mean on the balcony upstairs. Yes
00:59:28This is where the wolf barbecue should have been they said
00:59:31This is backyard week on the block. You need to have a barbecue on Australian
00:59:41Just to have a sausage on bread is one of the easiest things for them
00:59:44You don't want to go running upstairs the whole time
00:59:46If you're going to have a smoker here and you're going to have cold drinks and things like that
00:59:52You need a fridge and you need a sink. So to really function as a dining space
00:59:56You need to make more kitchenette amenities in the laundry or the TV room or an outdoor kitchen like house twos
01:00:04Right here in this space
01:00:07meandering down the path towards the basketball court
01:00:11And another court they found a bigger court than house one with a three-point line
01:00:19This is cool. So this is the block
01:00:222024 house five. Yeah, this is cool
01:00:24And the judges also found a fire pit with a dry stone wall Dave's favorite fire pit area. He'd seen today
01:00:31I love this. I think this is one of my favorite parts the whole job here. Is that hard doing stuff like that?
01:00:38Jaron things want this garden and this house delivers on is
01:00:43Privacy look around look at what we're looking at. It's private. We're not exactly we're seeing lots of trees and lots of sky
01:00:50We don't have an immediate neighbor here. We don't have an immediate neighbor there. It's privacy
01:00:55It's a cracker
01:01:00This week the judges saw five backyards are all bigger than most of the gardens ever
01:01:05Delivered on the block. I think it's a real achievement for all of you
01:01:10And I mean all of you today
01:01:12The hardest thing is is that we've got to pick a winner and it's really not that easy today
01:01:16Not today really isn't the standard as much as we've been a bit negative on something standard is so damn high
01:01:24Brilliant effort. Well done everybody. Give yourselves all
01:01:35Okay, here we go
01:01:42Dave Frank first Maddie and Charlotte, so we've got a very coastal palette of trees here and we have a lot of lawn as well
01:01:55Courtney and grumpy. This is garden art
01:02:05Ricky and Hayden could do with some more layers, but it might just sell the place because you can do whatever you like with this guy
01:02:17Come on Brad, I've got all this wasted space around here. I'm sorry. Just he's giving me absolutely nothing
01:02:24I
01:02:29Christian and Mimi soon as you walk in you're drawn to it. It does scream resort to me
01:02:37Mixed results
01:02:39Darren and Marty
01:02:41Double whammy down first
01:02:43Maddie and Charlotte design planning finish
01:02:48amenity tick tick tick tick tick
01:02:54Courtney and grumpy, it's miraculous that it's this good in this time frame like mind-blowing
01:03:15It's consistent with the inside of the house, it's actually really appropriate for family living. It's not chic. It's fun
01:03:25Holly Brad, I
01:03:27question
01:03:29The amount of decking the amount of sitting the amount of amenity that's in this space
01:03:38And Christian and Mimi it's like they've picked up a piece of philip island
01:03:42They've put it here in the landscaping for us. That's really effective
01:03:49Okay, Marty Maddie and Charlotte
01:03:52This is clearly an entertainer's dream
01:04:00Courtney and grumpy this indoor-outdoor flow. This is what people pay for. This is what gets them emotionally connected to a property
01:04:13Ricky and Hayden, that's the quintessential Aussie back garden
01:04:22I'm calling Brad what we're saying is just a really poorly planned uninviting space
01:04:35Christian and Mimi. Oh look at the tiling that is stunning
01:04:46Okay, I'll see you in a bit shine a blaze Maddie and Charlotte
01:04:52I don't know. I said, it's beautiful
01:04:56courting grumps
01:04:57They've always known how to sell the dream. We can't hide it ticks so many boxes
01:05:03It just doesn't have the finesse and the finishings. I'm Brad
01:05:07There's nothing about this that says come and hang in my backyard
01:05:12And Christian and Mimi the choice of materials is stunning. Okay totals. I
01:05:19I just want
01:05:24Okay
01:05:26the winner of week 11 on the block backyard week and taking home 10,000 bucks from Ford is
01:05:39It's Courtney grumpy
01:05:49I
01:05:50Cannot believe it
01:05:54It is it is a massive spring in my step now we could totally end this competition happy regardless of what happens at auction
01:06:00We got our 10. Yeah, we we're very happy with our say. Yeah, forget it
01:06:04We got to 10 get a quarter of this feeling on auction. I don't be great
01:06:08Courtney a grand scored a massive 39 out of 40 with tens from both Darren and Shana
01:06:14Girls came runner-up with 37 points while Christian and Mimi took our third place with 35
01:06:21Ricky and Hayden solo landscaping efforts never them fourth place with 32 and
01:06:26Colleen Brad came a distant last with just 27 points
01:06:32Congratulations Courtney grumpy. You're not grumpy tonight
01:06:35No one at 10,000 bucks from Ford and another $20,000 from honest for two tens
01:06:44Wow, congratulations and guess what tomorrow night we're heading overseas

01:07:52Coming up on the block the end begins and it's all coming to an end
01:07:56I don't particularly like that as our teams tackle their final space front gardens and facades
01:08:03I
01:08:06See so much to do it's insane
01:08:09This is it for the houses. This is it that looks lush and
01:08:15Expensive and inviting and in just over a week's time. It's a block reunion
01:08:24As our all-stars come together to help finish the clubhouse and give one of our teams a chance to get
01:08:31$50,000 off their reserve. We've got a lot to there's a lot to do. It's good to be back
01:08:37Back with a bang. That's another beautiful day in paradise. I'm home
01:08:41I'm home. Then. It's the big day as our Island resorts go under the hammer
01:08:47But will all couples make it to the auction
01:08:51You're married to things like it was beyond me. I deserve so much better
01:08:54How little I mean to him is really sad. I
01:08:59Just thought I'd come home
01:09:02Come have a break
01:09:10She's gone so you think she's literally just jumped on a plane home. Yeah
