00:00:00It just felt like the other day, 20 weeks ago, yeah, when we rocked up and we met everyone
00:00:26and it was just like a dust storm.
00:00:33It's hard to believe, three months ago we were sleeping in a tent, now we're sleeping
00:00:56in a multi-million dollar mansion.
00:00:58Yep, that's right, these five houses are almost complete, but it hasn't been without
00:01:06its challenges.
00:01:07The block is the hardest thing we've ever done.
00:01:09You don't realise how hard it is until you're actually on the block, it is so mentally and
00:01:13physically taxing.
00:01:15It's not for the faint of heart, that's for sure.
00:01:17If you have a crack in yourself, in your relationship, the block will bring that out.
00:01:28What happened on Saturday night?
00:01:31Things that made me feel very unhappy.
00:01:34I was at Kylie and Brad's house, hanging out drinking, we were just chatting and then Kylie
00:01:40went to sleep.
00:01:42I was flirting with Mimi, go get the wine and some cups, let's do this, said some pretty
00:01:50inappropriate comments, Kylie overheard, very understandable, she was quite upset.
00:01:56Oh, like Brad's like, oh, you know I'd follow your OnlyFans.
00:01:59I can't be on national television having my marriage breaking down, I'm going home.
00:02:07I've spoken to Kylie, she's still upset, but she is going to come back.
00:02:13Have you guys spoken?
00:02:16Not a word.
00:02:17So the aim is just to come here and get this done?
00:02:21Yeah.
00:02:22I'm here to make sure that you're comfortable with what happened.
00:02:26Yeah, I'm honestly fine, just want them to be okay.
00:02:30You guys were just talking?
00:02:32Yeah.
00:02:37Tonight, our blockheads race to finish their houses as Front Yard and Garage Week comes
00:02:46to an end.
00:02:47There is people and vehicles everywhere, it's manic.
00:02:50And the stakes couldn't be higher.
00:02:53There's a car up for grabs.
00:02:55You want the Mustang?
00:02:56I want the Mustang.
00:02:57Everyone wants the Mustang.
00:02:58The judges have their final say on the houses before auction.
00:03:02This is a dream entry.
00:03:05Oh, I love this so much.
00:03:07This is impressive.
00:03:09For one team, the feedback is hard to hear.
00:03:12It's not a lot here, guys.
00:03:14All right, let's wrap it up.
00:03:15What's that?
00:03:16I said wrap it up.
00:03:17Kylie, I'm not going to wrap it up.
00:03:18It's almost like they've checked out.
00:03:20I'm leaving.
00:03:26He is legging it barefoot down the middle of the road.
00:03:29We need to put you through the garden now.
00:03:36This is the end.
00:03:39This is the end.
00:03:41This is the end.
00:03:43This is the end.
00:03:45This is the end.
00:03:47This is the end.
00:03:52It seems like it was only a short while ago that our teams kicked off their build on Phillip
00:03:56Island.
00:03:57But, in fact, it's been 85 days of putting in the hard yakka to transform their dream
00:04:03holiday homes into reality.
00:04:05And today marks the final day for our teams to complete their houses before they move
00:04:10on to the clubhouse next week.
00:04:13It feels very weird today because it's the last day we're working on the house.
00:04:17Obviously, we'll do a little bit next week, like put it around.
00:04:20But this is like the last time we're actually working on it.
00:04:23So it sucks.
00:04:29Well, lads, how are we?
00:04:30What's going on?
00:04:33Hey.
00:04:34Last day, boys.
00:04:35Dan, we figured if we don't get up for it, it's not our last day.
00:04:39Is that going to work?
00:04:41Not really, no.
00:04:42No?
00:04:43There goes your alarm again.
00:04:45Last space.
00:04:46It's bittersweet.
00:04:48It's sweet that we've built an amazing house, but bitter that we have to leave because we're
00:04:53having a great time.
00:04:54My people.
00:04:55Hello, Ricky.
00:04:57We've got a ton to do.
00:04:58It feels like it's going to be impossible, but we really want that Mustang.
00:05:02So we're going to give it everything we've got.
00:05:04We're going to empty the tank.
00:05:05Yes, folks, the Ford Mustang Mach-E is up for grabs.
00:05:09And everybody wants her.
00:05:11All I ever said to my mum from the minute I came on the block was I'm going to win her that car.
00:05:15Every time I'm sore and I'm trying to push through, I'm saying Mustang, Mustang, Mustang.
00:05:23But first, you're going to have to compete with your best buds, Courtney and Grant, and
00:05:27their budding nursery.
00:05:28What are you thinking?
00:05:30Grant wants to get more plants.
00:05:31Two trees.
00:05:32Can you tell him to settle down?
00:05:35Grant wants to create a jungle.
00:05:37Never enough plants.
00:05:38Like, it's full.
00:05:39It's full.
00:05:40I think we're a bit bare.
00:05:41I think two more trees.
00:05:42It's Grant's plant market.
00:05:44After scoring two consecutive room reveal wins and two tens worth ten grand each, Courtney
00:05:50and Grant are cashed up and hoping to make the most of their prize money this week with,
00:05:55Yes, a lot of plants across their huge 379 square metre front yard.
00:06:01And they plan to use some of said plants to frame three architectural arbours from Blue
00:06:06Croc.
00:06:07Bigger than I thought.
00:06:08They look great.
00:06:09Very excited.
00:06:10Very excited, yeah.
00:06:11They'll also have a feature olive tree at the centre of the yard and will continue the
00:06:16arbour theme outside the bedroom patio, which Grant is going to build himself.
00:06:21Looking good, though.
00:06:24We don't have the entertaining spaces in the front like some others do, so we just focused
00:06:28on street appeal and that's it.
00:06:30Mustang.
00:06:31You want the Mustang?
00:06:32I want the Mustang.
00:06:33Everyone wants the Mustang.
00:06:34Who doesn't want a muscle Mustang?
00:06:35Plan is to drive out of here tomorrow in a Mackay.
00:06:38From the Habs in house two to the Habnods in house one.
00:06:42Are you going to win a car?
00:06:44You know.
00:06:45Probably not.
00:06:46Yes, we're going to win the car.
00:06:47Have you seen how many plants are next door?
00:06:48But that doesn't mean anything.
00:06:49The judges might be like, that's a terrible idea.
00:06:52Why sunny?
00:06:53Because low maintenance holiday home.
00:06:56Got the biggest thing on the block.
00:06:58Are you alright?
00:06:59Yeah.
00:07:00We're proud of what we're going to put forward and like it's going to be a beautiful garden,
00:07:04but at the same time we're fully aware that it's not going to be a showstopper because
00:07:08we're competing with people who have four or five times the amount of money that we have.
00:07:14Yeah, it's just a very simple yard.
00:07:17And by simple they mean a curved path in French patterned tiles, some budget friendly plants
00:07:22and a lot of lawn.
00:07:24Simple and easy to maintain.
00:07:28We've got an electric little robot mower.
00:07:31You don't even have to maintain it.
00:07:32No gardener.
00:07:33Easy.
00:07:34That's what you want in a holiday house.
00:07:35While the girls' design is pared back, they still have a lot left to do.
00:07:40Today we need to finish the garden bed, plant the plant.
00:07:45We need to finish off the decks, gurney the decks.
00:07:49We need the house to be painted.
00:07:52Style the garage.
00:07:54I also have a stand for it.
00:07:55Install the wallpaper.
00:07:56Graficos.
00:07:57Sweeps, clean everything.
00:07:58Everything needs to be done today basically.
00:08:02Everything, including getting the turf laid.
00:08:05Cued delivery from Lillydale.
00:08:16Morning gang, how are we?
00:08:18Good, Dan, how are you?
00:08:19Last official day for the house.
00:08:22How exciting.
00:08:25Yes.
00:08:26Then there's only one short week up there.
00:08:29Sounds good.
00:08:31Yeah.
00:08:32What's that?
00:08:33Good as gold.
00:08:34Good as gold.
00:08:36What's the plan today?
00:08:37Just planting?
00:08:39Planting and spraying.
00:08:41Working across 320 square metres,
00:08:43Kylie and Brad have one of the biggest footprints to deliver this week,
00:08:47including what's left of their front yard, garage,
00:08:50side passage, barbeque area and the tennis court entry deck.
00:08:55Our front yard is now pretty much right around to the tennis court entry deck.
00:09:03So it's quite a bit of work.
00:09:05Right around to the tennis court entry deck.
00:09:09So it's quite a large space.
00:09:11But our main entertaining area is in that front area.
00:09:15So adjacent to the pool that they delivered last week,
00:09:17Kylie and Brad's entertaining deck will feature an eight-seater table,
00:09:21comfy chill space and a custom barbeque area.
00:09:25Just this bench top here, mate.
00:09:27But unfortunately there's been a hold up with the stone for the barbeque bench.
00:09:32We ordered some stone to clad it so it matches sort of the deck ton inside.
00:09:37And unfortunately we haven't been able to secure the product in time.
00:09:41So it's an unfortunate finish.
00:09:44But I'd rather finish it properly than try and band-aid it with something else.
00:09:50So with everything stacked against them, even their budget,
00:09:54Kylie and Brad's hopes of driving out in a Mustang tomorrow are fading.
00:09:58We couldn't buy any feature.
00:10:00There's no wow factor.
00:10:02There's literally no wow factor.
00:10:04Yeah, it's very...
00:10:07This is what it is.
00:10:09Thanks to their multiple challenge wins,
00:10:12one team who can afford a bit of wow this week is Ricky and Hayden.
00:10:16The palm tree's in. Looks amazing.
00:10:18Even at the top of the block, you can see it straight away.
00:10:21Yeah, how good is it?
00:10:22Today, me and Hayden have still only won the Rumpus.
00:10:25Yeah, OK, we're Challenge Kings, but we're here to renovate.
00:10:28We want to be known for the work that we did here.
00:10:31We're really desperate to get a big win.
00:10:34Remaining spaces left for the boys to finish this week
00:10:37include their back deck, side passage, garage,
00:10:40and what's left of their front yard,
00:10:43which along with their wow palm tree
00:10:45will feature a path made from railway sleepers,
00:10:48and they have a little something special planned for the garage door.
00:10:53So this is like a big wow factor.
00:10:55Yep.
00:10:57That's loud.
00:10:58A garage door doesn't have to be just a garage door.
00:11:00No.
00:11:01Make it a statement piece.
00:11:02Yeah.
00:11:03The door is here.
00:11:04My boys, can I ask you, has there ever been a door like this?
00:11:08No one's done this colour on a garage door before.
00:11:10So you're saying that not only is this a block first,
00:11:12but this could be...
00:11:13Is this a world first?
00:11:14I reckon it's a world first.
00:11:15Let's have a sneak peek.
00:11:16There we go.
00:11:17Look at that.
00:11:18There it is.
00:11:19Whoo!
00:11:20Oh, there's a cloud.
00:11:22And he's landing here.
00:11:23Wow.
00:11:24Holy moly.
00:11:25Yes!
00:11:26That's the sound of fun, Dan.
00:11:30Strangely, I like it.
00:11:31Yeah.
00:11:32I'm not sure how the judges will like it,
00:11:34but I think it's a statement piece,
00:11:36and it represents our emotion in our house.
00:11:39It is the fun factory.
00:11:41The factory of fun.
00:11:44This is a Barbie dream house.
00:11:46He comes with it.
00:11:48Hi, Barbie.
00:11:49Hi, Ken.
00:11:50You want to go for a ride?
00:11:51Sure.
00:11:52Ken.
00:11:53Hey, Ken.
00:11:54There he is.
00:11:55There's Ken.
00:11:57The boy's car is so pink.
00:11:59I didn't realise it was, like, bright pink.
00:12:02Bit of wealth coming out of this end of the block.
00:12:05Brunch, what do you reckon, mate?
00:12:07Look at that.
00:12:08Ooh, sunglasses.
00:12:10I like Ricky and hate him, but I think it's horrendous.
00:12:14I wonder what they're going to say.
00:12:15Those people in the grass over there,
00:12:17those two,
00:12:18what are they going to say when they see this?
00:12:20Bright pink door opposite the house.
00:12:23I reckon they're going to love it.
00:12:26When the sun sets over there,
00:12:27that's just going to...
00:12:28your whole house is going to be all pink.
00:12:31Statement.
00:12:32Oh, I'm having so much fun.
00:12:35Shame, I've got to f***ing look at it.
00:12:37Oh, I love you, Ken.
00:12:49Welcome back to the block.
00:12:51It's mid-Saturday afternoon,
00:12:52a front yard and garage week,
00:12:54and our block heads are working
00:12:56to complete the final spaces of their house.
00:13:02How good.
00:13:03Yeah, last final push for our house on the block.
00:13:07Are you liking your deck?
00:13:09Loving it.
00:13:11We've been waiting for this week for 12 weeks, pretty much,
00:13:14because we've been so excited to share this area,
00:13:17the balcony,
00:13:18that's our main entertaining area.
00:13:21Christian and Mimi have a unique footprint this week,
00:13:24including their first-floor balcony,
00:13:26which overlooks their front yard,
00:13:28a secondary driveway that leads to a garden shed
00:13:31and their jewel garage.
00:13:34Upstairs on their entertainer's balcony,
00:13:36they'll feature HomePro automated exterior blinds,
00:13:40a woof barbecue,
00:13:41a bar table with seating for six,
00:13:43a dining table with seating for eight
00:13:46and a lounge area that can sit at least eight people.
00:13:50When you open up the double doors
00:13:51and you've got an inside and then an outside area,
00:13:54that sort of becomes one.
00:13:55And what we were lacking in the living dining week
00:13:58for the judging there,
00:13:59we gained for outside,
00:14:01which is amazing for, like, a holiday home.
00:14:05And the piece de resistance
00:14:06is a $30,000 woof barbecue
00:14:09that Christian and Mimi won back in week one.
00:14:13Oh, look at that.
00:14:16Like a glove.
00:14:17So hopefully the judges understand
00:14:19why we didn't have a built-in barbecue in the backyard,
00:14:23because this is more functional
00:14:25being right next to the kitchen.
00:14:27And landscaper Troy has just the thing to sell the vacay dream.
00:14:31We've built a secondary driveway
00:14:33because it's like a holiday destination.
00:14:35A lot of people have caravans and boats and things.
00:14:37So instead of the judges having to look at a driveway for nothing,
00:14:41I brought my boat up just to show them
00:14:43that this is another story spot
00:14:45to park either a boat or a caravan.
00:14:47Yeah!
00:14:49We've got a boat.
00:14:51We've got a boat!
00:14:53Troy's moving in his dinghy.
00:14:59Yes, house three have got a boat,
00:15:01but it's not really a good place to store a boat
00:15:04in, like, the middle of the driveway.
00:15:05They can happily just park it here.
00:15:09I can't stop staring at that palm tree.
00:15:11It's gigantic!
00:15:14Ours definitely looks bigger from here
00:15:16because it's right in front of me.
00:15:18Ours is only this big!
00:15:21Yes, correct.
00:15:22House five does have a shrub and a teddy.
00:15:33Grumpy!
00:15:34Scotty!
00:15:35The DIY Mitre Temp project, doing it right the first time.
00:15:38Are you doing it right?
00:15:39I'll let you decide on that.
00:15:41What do you think?
00:15:42It looks good.
00:15:43It's got cypress pine.
00:15:44Ground perfect, termite proof.
00:15:45We like cypress pine.
00:15:46Yep.
00:15:47I'm not going to swap hats with you,
00:15:48but I'm just going to give you this hat.
00:15:49Oh, I like that one.
00:15:50Here, whack that on.
00:15:52And it comes with a little gift,
00:15:53which is 5,000 smackeroonies.
00:15:57Thank you, Scotty.
00:15:58Thanks, Mitre Temp.
00:15:59Let's get down.
00:16:02You look out and there is people and vehicles everywhere.
00:16:07It's manic.
00:16:08There's excavators everywhere.
00:16:10There's trucks coming in and out.
00:16:12Wheelbarrows going, flying everywhere.
00:16:14A lot of wheelbarrows getting stolen from house to house.
00:16:17Thanks for that.
00:16:18Oh, worrisome.
00:16:19Can you believe it's alive?
00:16:20No, I don't want to go in it.
00:16:21No, I don't want to go in it.
00:16:22No, no, no.
00:16:23No, no, no, no, no.
00:16:24No.
00:16:25No.
00:16:26No.
00:16:27No.
00:16:28No.
00:16:29Oh!
00:16:30They'll be dragging me out of here.
00:16:32As the power tools deadline fast approaches,
00:16:35as the power tools deadline fast approaches,
00:16:37for the very last time on this season's houses,
00:16:41this will be the final hurrah
00:16:43for our blockheads and their chosen trade families.
00:16:46I'm doing a very rough still.
00:16:49Very, very sad day for us.
00:16:51Sad to leave Dunk.
00:16:52Right now, Dunk is a major part of our life.
00:16:55Yeah.
00:16:56When you spend that much time with your team,
00:16:58you establish a real close bond.
00:17:00I've got a farewell present I found.
00:17:02Oh, stop it.
00:17:03I bought it.
00:17:04And it's my present to House 3.
00:17:07Wow.
00:17:08And it should be coming tomorrow morning.
00:17:10That's amazing.
00:17:11Thank you so much, mate.
00:17:12Pleasure, guys.
00:17:13Love you, Dunk.
00:17:14It wouldn't have been a block without you, mate.
00:17:16Oh, no.
00:17:17It was a lot of fun.
00:17:18You've made our experience.
00:17:19It was a lot of fun.
00:17:20We wouldn't have been able to achieve this house
00:17:22without the team that we've got.
00:17:24Thanks, brother.
00:17:25Thanks, bro.
00:17:26Appreciate it, dude.
00:17:27You know, I think they're unsung heroes.
00:17:29Like, we're the faces of this house,
00:17:31but we don't own a building.
00:17:33They're the ones that are delivering
00:17:35high-quality standard finishes
00:17:38and making it the house that it is.
00:17:40Honestly, man, couldn't have done it without you guys.
00:17:42We literally couldn't have.
00:17:43Legend.
00:17:44Thanks, bud.
00:17:45A special mention has to be made to Andrew,
00:17:47our building under construction, who is our builder.
00:17:49We'll catch up in Melbourne anyway if you're down.
00:17:51You got my number.
00:17:52All right, bro.
00:17:53See you, bud.
00:17:54See you.
00:17:55We love our builders.
00:17:56Thank you for everything.
00:17:59Not be here without you.
00:18:00It's been fantastic being here over the last couple of weeks.
00:18:02I know you've had your ups and downs,
00:18:04but I think it's just like a big family.
00:18:06I'm waiting for a phone call tomorrow night
00:18:08to say that you want a car,
00:18:09then you can come and pick me up and take me for dinner.
00:18:11Sounds good.
00:18:12100%.
00:18:13Thank you again, all right?
00:18:14In the end is right.
00:18:15I hope you have the time of your life.
00:18:19First bar crasher in block history,
00:18:21getting backed into the driveway.
00:18:23If that's not style, then I don't know what is.
00:18:25Seriously.
00:18:26Something I've wanted to see for a long time,
00:18:28but there's so much to do.
00:18:30We've got a tonne to do.
00:18:31This is the most daunting night ever.
00:18:33No glowing in the dark, in the dark, in the dark, in the dark.
00:18:36Got a lot left.
00:18:37Set the Argentinian barbecue up.
00:18:39Clean the car up.
00:18:40Clean the car up.
00:18:41Clean the car up.
00:18:42Clean the car up.
00:18:43Clean the car up.
00:18:44Clean the car up.
00:18:45Clean the car up.
00:18:46Clean the car up.
00:18:47Set the Argentinian barbecue up.
00:18:48Clean the garage and paint the front door.
00:18:50Clean.
00:18:51Style.
00:18:52Cut vegetables.
00:18:54I love colour blocking.
00:18:56You see the green fruit?
00:18:58Paint.
00:18:59Paint the garage.
00:19:00Adding storage in the garage.
00:19:01I hate flat pipe furniture.
00:19:03Gurning everything down.
00:19:05And this is the door reveal.
00:19:07Oh!
00:19:08I love it.
00:19:09Love it.
00:19:12So, my day just got completely topped off.
00:19:15We have no lounge.
00:19:20It's Saturday and it's dark.
00:19:22And the couch order isn't here.
00:19:24So I messaged and said, hey, I'm not sure if anything's gone wrong
00:19:27or if you've just left them somewhere
00:19:29but I'm still waiting on those chairs from Cave.
00:19:32And she's like, no babe, remember?
00:19:34I said you couldn't get them.
00:19:37Well, we don't have an outdoor couch now.
00:19:38Why not?
00:19:39Because the one that she got told is coming.
00:19:41It's not coming.
00:19:43I did go down to visit Kylie and Brad.
00:19:46I heard on the grapevine that they were missing some furniture
00:19:49and they were looking for some furniture.
00:19:51I heard that you guys don't have, like, a lounge set.
00:19:54So I wanted to see if she wanted one of mine.
00:19:57So, yeah, let her know if she wants that.
00:19:59Yeah.
00:20:00I have, like, all three.
00:20:01I have that.
00:20:02Yeah, alright, thank you.
00:20:03They had such a rough week last week.
00:20:05I want them to have a completed space.
00:20:08So if I could help, 100%, I'd help out.
00:20:11No.
00:20:12Anyone seconds.
00:20:13Okay.
00:20:16The girl said they hadn't used it.
00:20:17No, that's, I don't want it.
00:20:19Alright, she came over and I said I would say it to you.
00:20:23But there are couches, there are people offering to help.
00:20:26Why won't you allow yourself that?
00:20:31I don't like charity and I don't like help.
00:20:33It shows weakness?
00:20:34What is it?
00:20:35100% shows weakness.
00:20:36When you accept people's help.
00:20:38Yes.
00:20:39When you accept people's help or when I accept people
00:20:41or anyone accepts help.
00:20:42When I accept people's help.
00:20:45Upset by the missing lounge in her barbecue area,
00:20:48Kylie focuses on styling the tennis deck,
00:20:51only to discover the 9 and 6 painter who was responsible
00:20:55for painting the exterior trims has left before finishing.
00:20:58And then I walk out the back thinking,
00:21:00I'm going to start styling and I'm just going to get away
00:21:02from looking out there.
00:21:04And the 9 and 6 painter had started painting
00:21:09but then he'd only just cut it in and left.
00:21:12She's going to lose it.
00:21:13I can paint it.
00:21:14It's fine.
00:21:15Just go and do something else.
00:21:16Don't just close the door on me.
00:21:17He's not allowed to be painting.
00:21:19Stop it.
00:21:20I don't need the help.
00:21:21They're not going to help us to finish it
00:21:23so it's not going to get done.
00:21:24Just leave it.
00:21:26All of you.
00:21:27And I wasn't mad at Ado, I was mad at the fact
00:21:30that it's not his job to paint it.
00:21:33I want everyone gone.
00:21:35I'm not kidding.
00:21:37I am actually not kidding.
00:21:40I can't deal.
00:21:44Because I can't deal.
00:21:45But we're done and then we'll go.
00:21:47I just feel like everyone is against us.
00:21:51Like that's how it gets.
00:21:53Get them out.
00:21:55I can't control them.
00:21:57Tell them to leave.
00:21:58I don't want their help.
00:22:00I can finish it.
00:22:01We're done.
00:22:02We're done.
00:22:03Yeah.
00:22:07I don't want their help.
00:22:08I can finish it.
00:22:09It's the last hour of renovating the Blokholmes 2024
00:22:12and our teams are rushing to involve these works of art
00:22:15to the judges for the final time.
00:22:18It's the Beyonce.
00:22:21You're going to put it in my garage, Scotty.
00:22:26It's the Beyonce.
00:22:29You're going to put it in my garage.
00:22:31It's the Beyonce.
00:22:33It's the Beyonce.
00:22:35This could be hard.
00:22:39Oh, my God, that's cold.
00:22:42Good luck, guys.
00:22:44Thanks, Doug. Let's go, guys.
00:22:46Let's go, let's go.
00:22:54Oh!
00:22:55Johnny! It's the end.
00:22:57It's the end?
00:23:01WHISTLE BLOWS
00:23:04WHISTLE BLOWS
00:23:11Well done, brother. It's over.
00:23:13Solid effort. Well done.
00:23:17Just leave it, love.
00:23:19Just leave it. Wash your hands.
00:23:21It's done.
00:23:23I can't believe we've done 12 tools downs.
00:23:2620th season done.
00:23:28Scotty, do we get to hug you now, mate?
00:23:31He's like, I don't know if I can do it.
00:23:33Group hug.
00:23:35We put 110% effort, like, tears, sweat, you name it,
00:23:40all into the house.
00:23:42Couldn't have done any more. It's been incredible.
00:23:44You've all come down to admire your brand-new car.
00:23:46Yes!
00:23:47I do feel proud, like, that's a pretty huge achievement,
00:23:50and we did that, and we didn't crack,
00:23:52and we didn't break down, and we did break down.
00:23:55But we got back up. Yeah.
00:23:58I couldn't have done this without you.
00:24:00I felt so proud of being able to share that
00:24:02with everyone was incredible.
00:24:04Kind of made it really sink in, like, wow, we did this.
00:24:07Like, it's done.
00:24:08Bradley. Hello. Bradley.
00:24:10Oh, my God. Congrats.
00:24:12All done. Good day, Brad. All done.
00:24:14You've finished your house, mate.
00:24:16Just about.
00:24:18You guys have created a village. Yes.
00:24:20That's what you've done. You've built a village.
00:24:22And some lucky families are going to live in this village.
00:24:25Yeah. That you created.
00:24:27So, you need to get changing in some nice clobber.
00:24:29The judges are coming, and we're going to the winery tonight.
00:24:32Woo-hoo!
00:24:34Let's go!
00:24:38Why did you guys come on the block?
00:24:42Brad and I came on the block for a holiday.
00:24:45We're always working.
00:24:47Always being parents.
00:24:50Brad and I keep very separate finances,
00:24:53and his business runs very well the way he's set it up.
00:24:57When I'm not working, I don't get paid.
00:24:59And I work six days a week.
00:25:01Like, we literally live day to day.
00:25:04So, you're sort of just hopeful
00:25:07that you do enough on your house here
00:25:11that, you know, someone's going to want to buy it.
00:25:17So, hopefully we can have something after all this crazy experience.
00:25:24Hi!
00:25:26Hello! Hello, ladies.
00:25:28I know you look terrific. Thanks, Scotty.
00:25:30Welcome to the Phillip Island Winery.
00:25:33How good is this joint?
00:25:35Well done. You have finished the block.
00:25:37Yay!
00:25:39What a transformation it is,
00:25:41from building site to, well, blocktastic.
00:25:45Don't you reckon? It's incredible.
00:25:47You can really feel the holiday vibes coming out of all your houses.
00:25:51Now the front yards and facades are done,
00:25:54and it's such a shame that you can't just have a holiday right now, isn't it?
00:25:58It would be nice.
00:25:59Instead of plunging in to one more week
00:26:01of renovating at the Disney Plus Clubhouse.
00:26:03But don't worry about that. That's next week.
00:26:05Yeah. Forget about that.
00:26:07What we're here for tonight
00:26:09is to find out who is driving home in the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
00:26:14Ooh.
00:26:15Wow. Beautiful car.
00:26:17Let's find out who it's going to be, shall we?
00:26:19Ooh, baby, do you know what that's worth?
00:26:22Ooh, heaven is a place on Earth.
00:26:26They say in heaven, love comes first.
00:26:30Ooh, heaven is a place on Earth.
00:26:33So, Matt and Charlotte.
00:26:38This one goes a little bit all over the shop.
00:26:42We're doing front yard and the garage.
00:26:45Simple, like you've got white cladding.
00:26:47Let's make it nice and clean.
00:26:49Grass. Clean it up against the white.
00:26:51The outside of our house is being cladded with James Hardy.
00:26:54We've picked surface as our main colour.
00:26:56And then monument accents.
00:27:01Hello.
00:27:02Our dad has come to visit.
00:27:05He's a hard little worker.
00:27:06When it's your dad, you never know what he's buying.
00:27:10We're in the front yard.
00:27:11We've just got a small deck going in there.
00:27:13Over here, we've just got, yeah, the lawn continuing in.
00:27:16So, we've got French paving leading into our front doors.
00:27:20And we've got a nice deck coming out to meet it.
00:27:25We have our garage door getting installed.
00:27:27Auto remote access for our garage door.
00:27:32So, we have the dream garage flooring.
00:27:34This makes it nice and smooth and beautiful.
00:27:36And you've got your moonscape, wholesome concrete driveway.
00:27:39We do.
00:27:40You know what is quite beautiful?
00:27:41The fact that every driveway is individual to the houses.
00:27:45A different stone for every driveway is cool.
00:27:47I don't think we cried this week.
00:27:50Wow, go us.
00:27:52That's the first week I've not cried.
00:27:53I was close. I was close.
00:27:56I hope the judges take away that although it might be a little bit more pared back,
00:28:01it's a holiday house and low maintenance.
00:28:04Low maintenance is key.
00:28:05We've got a massive grass bit.
00:28:07Who doesn't want to be playing cricket out the front?
00:28:15It's beautiful as it is and simple.
00:28:18What a facade. How beautiful is this?
00:28:21It's so lovely.
00:28:22It's incredible.
00:28:24How lucky are they with this beautiful tree?
00:28:26Yeah.
00:28:27It's so big, like the actual facade, it's massive.
00:28:30Today was full of praise for the moonscape geostone you chose.
00:28:34It's good to see it's got the driveways out.
00:28:36The only thing I'm sort of seeing at the moment, it just doesn't give me enough height.
00:28:40I'd say they spend all their budget in the backyard.
00:28:42I think you're exactly right here.
00:28:44I mean, look, we have got one of the existing palm trees here, but it feels like it's on its own.
00:28:48All of the judges think you probably blew the budget in the backyard.
00:28:52Front yard, it's nice.
00:28:54Does it need a little bit something else?
00:28:56I think it does.
00:28:57Darren loved seeing a garage that wasn't full of rubbish for the first time this series.
00:29:06This is one of the best styled garages I think I've ever seen on the block.
00:29:10Yeah.
00:29:11Mmm.
00:29:12This is full on.
00:29:13Marty was impressed with the Dream Garage flooring.
00:29:16This is the first time I've actually walked into a garage with this product,
00:29:19and it seems like a really great option.
00:29:22They've taken the care to put all this James Hardy around the perimeter as well.
00:29:26It's actually usable, it's functional.
00:29:29So they've got all the things that you need.
00:29:31And I love all the amenities here for sustainability.
00:29:34Like we've got the charger for the car.
00:29:36We've got a solar battery power.
00:29:38So it just means that they're away all the time.
00:29:41They'll catch all this beautiful energy and have it there ready to use.
00:29:44Great idea from you, Brad.
00:29:46Yeah, Brad.
00:29:47Well done.
00:29:48Call him Battery Brad, Scotty.
00:29:50Ever ready.
00:29:51Ever ready.
00:29:52Just keeps on going, old Brad.
00:29:56I love the scene, the Grafico sets.
00:29:58That's how I remember Phillip Island.
00:30:00So to me that sets the nostalgia
00:30:02and that connection to this incredible space that they've been given.
00:30:06So they're telling the story.
00:30:08They're selling the dream.
00:30:09They're selling the imagination in a garage.
00:30:12They then took in the rest of your front garden,
00:30:15starting with the awesome scale of the entryway.
00:30:18What an entry.
00:30:19Look at the height.
00:30:22Take it in.
00:30:23Take it in from entrance appeal.
00:30:25Architecturally, it's got lots going for it.
00:30:28And it just feels...
00:30:30Unfinished?
00:30:31Yeah.
00:30:33Well, the arthropodium probably would have done better along the sides here.
00:30:36They've got what they say is Corio Alba,
00:30:38so that's more of sort of your natural,
00:30:40well, it's indigenous to this area as well at the same time.
00:30:43But that's going to grow outwards.
00:30:45So something to frame each side would be a lot better.
00:30:49And for Shana,
00:30:50some more thought could have gone into this lighting of this area too.
00:30:54I think a complete letdown of the architect's vision
00:30:57is not highlighting the inside of this with either a light or lighting.
00:31:02They're luxurious spaces when you have those empty voids
00:31:05and you do something with them.
00:31:07Evidently, there's budget constraints.
00:31:09But a light doesn't cost a lot.
00:31:12On to the positives.
00:31:13Dave was pleased to see the scale of the front lawn.
00:31:17But they have got a huge front lawn,
00:31:19which I can obviously play cricket.
00:31:21For me, the first thing I'd be doing as a buyer
00:31:23is getting a hedge growing along this lawn.
00:31:25For the last judging of house one,
00:31:27the judges want to applaud you for finishing your home.
00:31:30What an incredible job you have both done,
00:31:34coming in after week four on the block.
00:31:37Something that's never been done before in 20 seasons of the show.
00:31:42They came in with a bang and they did some really good stuff
00:31:45and, like, you know, got tens.
00:31:46And as much as they've let themselves down on the last one here,
00:31:50we've got to acknowledge how great they've done with the house.
00:31:53They did a bloody good job.
00:31:56Well done, Maddie and Charlotte. That is it.
00:31:59Well done.
00:32:07It's time to vote for the contestants
00:32:09you think have created a block-winning build.
00:32:12To tell us which of these sensational spaces is your favourite,
00:32:16all you have to do is head to the block website now.
00:32:23You're moving on, love. You're moving on now.
00:32:27Time to break free. Nothing can stop me now.
00:32:32Cordy and Grumpy. Scotty.
00:32:34You've had a really strong couple of weeks, haven't you?
00:32:37It's been good. Yeah, yeah, we've come out strong.
00:32:39Let's see what the judges think of this week.
00:32:44This week was really fun.
00:32:47For the front yard, what we want to do is focus on straight appeal
00:32:51at the entrance leading up to the door.
00:32:53You mirror each side with lily-pillies, frame it, right?
00:32:57Then we create a low-lying hedge out the front,
00:32:59raised circular garden bed in the middle of the turf.
00:33:02Massive feature tree, low-lying planting.
00:33:07We are going to get some arbours leading up to our front door.
00:33:12So that's three? Yeah.
00:33:14We're just tossing up between if it's going to be three or four arbours.
00:33:17So you've got, I think, three.
00:33:21Holy ****!
00:33:23I started digging to put these footings down.
00:33:25I didn't realise I chose the hardest soil on the block.
00:33:29All I hear is crunch.
00:33:32Here's your trophy, mate. Thank you.
00:33:37What's going here, then?
00:33:38This is a big olive tree going in.
00:33:40It's Mediterranean. Yeah.
00:33:42We had to tie something back into the inside.
00:33:44This is all turf? Yeah.
00:33:46All turf around this feature tree.
00:33:48There's a bit of a seat to sit around under the olive tree.
00:33:51Then I came in and I looked at the olive tree and I was like,
00:33:54you will grow.
00:33:56It stands about three and a half metres tall.
00:34:00Home is where I want to be.
00:34:04Pick me up and turn me round.
00:34:08I feel numb.
00:34:11Born with a weak heart.
00:34:13I guess I must be having fun.
00:34:16We feel like we've done enough to win a Mustang.
00:34:18We feel like we've done the house justice.
00:34:21I hope that the judges sit around that tree,
00:34:23look back toward the house and see
00:34:26the amount and the quantity of different species of plants.
00:34:31Ooh.
00:34:33That's more like it.
00:34:36Wow. That looks lush and expensive
00:34:40and inviting.
00:34:42This is a facade.
00:34:44Look at the different plants in here.
00:34:46What are we looking at, Dave?
00:34:47Well, this has got the absolute perfect brief of coastal.
00:34:51Dave said that it has every type of plant
00:34:54I would want to see here.
00:34:56I love it.
00:34:58Visually, it is warm, it's cosy, it's rich.
00:35:01And audibly, it's just insane.
00:35:04You can hear those amazing water features.
00:35:07And it's a really nice contrast as well with House One
00:35:10how this exterior, it feels very beachy.
00:35:12This product.
00:35:14Each house has its own character
00:35:16because they've used a different James Hardy product.
00:35:18And the little details just set each house apart
00:35:21and have their own sense of personality.
00:35:23Hats off to our architect, Julian Brenchley.
00:35:27But also, we have black and white,
00:35:30like stark contrast here.
00:35:33And the thing that makes it soft
00:35:35is we have sandstone and limestone.
00:35:37We've got this beautiful soft aggregate.
00:35:39Oh, this is definitely a plan that they've thought about.
00:35:42It hasn't just been gone, righto, we're going to put plants here.
00:35:45Dave was loving the design of the arbour
00:35:47with the lilypilly flanking it on both sides.
00:35:50And that lilypilly will sort of hedge up
00:35:52and be quite tall.
00:35:53You can hedge that to 10 metres if you let it go.
00:35:55So you'll be walking down like a long hallway
00:35:57of just beautiful green with those lovely architectural arbours
00:36:00leading into that beautiful void.
00:36:08Walking into the garage, Shona said...
00:36:10Look, the garage has got what a garage needs.
00:36:13It's got the beautiful sustainability elements
00:36:16we saw in House One, the basic racking.
00:36:18It doesn't have to be over the top.
00:36:22And it's finished.
00:36:23It's not as cosy as what we saw in House One
00:36:26because that party groove really did make it.
00:36:28How much time do you spend in the garage?
00:36:30Do you want to feel cosy in the garage?
00:36:31Well, look, I'm a car man.
00:36:32I actually love being in the garage.
00:36:34Tell you what, I would have far preferred to see less interest
00:36:38in the garage and more interest in the front yard in House One.
00:36:41This is the right balance.
00:36:43The steppers to the entry proved to be very functional
00:36:46as they headed towards the front door.
00:36:49Look at these travertine steps.
00:36:51Just...
00:36:53Darren thinks the entry is awesome.
00:36:55But how much do you love that?
00:36:57Oh!
00:36:58I love the handles.
00:37:00I love the profile of the door.
00:37:02This is entrance appeal.
00:37:04Come in here and look back.
00:37:06Like, it looks amazing that way,
00:37:08but it also looks amazing leaving.
00:37:11And that repetition of the shape.
00:37:13They've got the angle the same.
00:37:15Oh, I love this so much.
00:37:17This is a dream entry.
00:37:19Dave Franklin said,
00:37:20apart from some missing grout here and there,
00:37:22the pathway to your entrance is perfect.
00:37:25I love how wide they've used the pathway.
00:37:27Like, generally a pathway is anywhere between 900 to 1.2 wide.
00:37:31This, 2 to 2.5 metres wide, that's luxury.
00:37:34The travertine clad square planter
00:37:37with the Kalamata olive, so modern-terranian.
00:37:41Kalamata tree!
00:37:43It's so fitting.
00:37:44Yeah.
00:37:45The seating area looks superb with the arbour you built this week.
00:37:48How beautiful is that setting?
00:37:50Like, they've got the little paving around there.
00:37:52Wow.
00:37:53They've got their arbour as well.
00:37:54Again, framing that courtyard.
00:37:56It just feels very private here too.
00:37:57Yeah.
00:37:58Yeah.
00:37:59Jarrum would have liked a couple more larger trees for privacy.
00:38:02And from the main bedroom, looking outside,
00:38:05you can have your doors open to your private area
00:38:08and have privacy.
00:38:09But one thing they all agreed on...
00:38:11Tall trees.
00:38:12It's photographically stunning and architecturally stunning.
00:38:16It all ties in so beautifully.
00:38:18It's just stunning.
00:38:20Yep.
00:38:21And the fact that it fits with the mood of their house.
00:38:24They absolutely have had a vision from day one
00:38:28that they have delivered on every single week.
00:38:31It is still my favourite house on the block.
00:38:33And they finished it.
00:38:35And they finished it with style.
00:38:38I always say to my clients,
00:38:39my job is to give you something you never knew you wanted.
00:38:43And that's what this couple have done.
00:38:45They have created a house that people will be watching this
00:38:48that they never knew they wanted.
00:38:50And they want Mediterranean.
00:38:52And this sells the dream.
00:38:54I couldn't agree more.
00:38:55Marty thinks you will become an inspiration
00:38:58through this show for so many people
00:39:00looking to renovate and style their own homes.
00:39:04Yes.
00:39:05Courtney and Grumpy have delivered something
00:39:07that will inspire Australians for the next few years
00:39:10in a style that we haven't seen before.
00:39:12So it's a massive congratulations to them.
00:39:15Great feedback, Courtney and Grumpy.
00:39:17That's it.
00:39:21Thanks, Scotty.
00:39:23We said this at the start of the competition
00:39:25that we'd always do whatever it took to just finish,
00:39:28at least just to finish and present something we're proud of.
00:39:30And we've done that.
00:39:31Yeah.
00:39:38Welcome back to the Phillip Island Winery.
00:39:40We've heard the judges' feedback for Houses 1 and 2.
00:39:43Now it's time for the boys in House 3 to face the music.
00:39:48House 3, Rick and H.
00:39:54Can't do it.
00:39:55Go for it.
00:39:56The end.
00:39:59This week was front yard, side yard, back yard in the garage.
00:40:03We've got decking area, fire pit, seating area,
00:40:07nice lounge area, barbecue and the tomato.
00:40:10We'll have a big-ass fan here.
00:40:11How do you guys feel about a pink garage door
00:40:14to match your front doors?
00:40:16Yep, fantastic.
00:40:17Love it.
00:40:18Garage door doesn't have to be just a garage door.
00:40:20No.
00:40:22Are you wanting to show more of a feature light
00:40:24as you're on the facade?
00:40:25Or just, like, simple up and down?
00:40:29Simple up and downs, I think.
00:40:30Yeah, OK.
00:40:31Yeah.
00:40:33I think I like that look, yeah.
00:40:36We ordered four cubes of river rocks
00:40:38and basically screwed the whole backyard.
00:40:40And we don't want to have any wastage.
00:40:46You got any spare rocks on you, mate?
00:40:50You guys actually did this.
00:40:54So we just sorted it out by hand.
00:40:57Sifted through a million rocks and took out the big ones.
00:41:01Today's massive.
00:41:02Lock you the palm tree arriving at 8am.
00:41:05Open fifth.
00:41:06Nah.
00:41:08This has taken a long time.
00:41:10Unfortunately, we've caused setbacks to others today.
00:41:12It's just one of those things.
00:41:14Yeah!
00:41:15Lock you the palm.
00:41:16Lock is locked in.
00:41:19We've got a deck, we've got some food cubes,
00:41:21which is like self-sustained planter boxes
00:41:23with herbs and fresh veg.
00:41:24This is all connected and self-watering
00:41:26and this whole farm will produce about 100 kilos
00:41:29of produce per annum.
00:41:30Wow!
00:41:31We're doing a graphico with a classic Ford GDHO.
00:41:34We're styling the garage with some Daiwa fishing gear as well.
00:41:38It's a fun factory.
00:41:39Built by Ricky and Hayden.
00:41:48Seventy foot palm tree, bar crusher,
00:41:52pink garage door.
00:41:53I think our front yard area is going to absolutely pop.
00:41:59There's nothing we could have done any better.
00:42:01Our team worked tirelessly to help us get the best result possible
00:42:03and put us in a winning position, so it's us to lose.
00:42:10First thing the judges noticed, isn't a hard one to guess.
00:42:16That wasn't there last week.
00:42:20Wow.
00:42:21How big is it?
00:42:22What a tree!
00:42:23Wow.
00:42:24That is insane.
00:42:25This is impressive, guys.
00:42:27What a statement piece.
00:42:30Well, they have certainly saved their money for this
00:42:34because this is not easy by any means to put in.
00:42:38I know it took a lot to get the palm tree into House 3,
00:42:41but wasn't it worth it, boys?
00:42:43100%.
00:42:44Shona said we told them weeks ago to run with the palm tree theme,
00:42:49but we never expected this.
00:42:51It's beyond phenomenal.
00:42:54I didn't think they'd go that big.
00:42:57Hey, they followed your advice to the very end.
00:43:00They ran with the palm theme.
00:43:02Aaron turned his attention to Chrissie to Mimi and said,
00:43:05House 5 would be spewing.
00:43:09Because they're like, yeah, we've got the house with the big palm tree.
00:43:13And then the boys are like, actually...
00:43:15No.
00:43:17We'll one-up you.
00:43:18Right?
00:43:19You know what, the boys are not about subtlety
00:43:21because not only do they have the biggest palm tree on the block,
00:43:24they've got the boat that they won
00:43:26and the brightest, pinkest garage door we have ever seen.
00:43:30All the doors by Auto Remote Access have been great this year,
00:43:34but yours is next level.
00:43:36A brave choice, but it works beautifully.
00:43:40And we've got a flamingo, like a vintage flamingo.
00:43:43It's funny because we've said over and over about this house,
00:43:46it's not chic, but it's fun.
00:43:48This is both.
00:43:49It is.
00:43:50This is actually really inviting, it's very sophisticated.
00:43:53It's very elegant.
00:43:56Elegant?
00:43:57Who would have thought?
00:43:59That's the first time I've heard that, mate.
00:44:02What a beautiful colour palette too.
00:44:04Like these two greys playing off that James Hardy profile
00:44:07and you've got that lovely vertical line that's repeated all the way through.
00:44:11It feels very different to the other houses.
00:44:14Well, does this scream a bloke's garage or what?
00:44:19I'm loving it.
00:44:20Again, fishing ropes, race cars.
00:44:22All you need in a garage.
00:44:24Back outside and Darren liked the use of the bedrock
00:44:27under the boardwalk and how textural the sleepers are.
00:44:32Like the fact you've got this texture playing against that rock face,
00:44:36it's really lovely and textural.
00:44:39We've got dichondra here, so all of that will grow
00:44:42along with the lily pillies through here.
00:44:44This will be green on green on green.
00:44:46It'll be fantastic.
00:44:47And they did it themselves.
00:44:49R&H landscaping is born.
00:44:53They said.
00:44:55The judges then moved out to the back.
00:44:59Yeah!
00:45:00Let's go!
00:45:02Alright.
00:45:03Alright.
00:45:04Okay.
00:45:05Alright.
00:45:06Okay.
00:45:07Alright.
00:45:08Okay.
00:45:12Oh wow!
00:45:13Let's go!
00:45:14Shana really liked it from the beginning.
00:45:16Again, very informal, like the front yard.
00:45:19Darren liked it too.
00:45:21This is an entertainer's delight.
00:45:23Like that, so that's a lot of fun.
00:45:25A lot of fun.
00:45:26It's very, very, very good.
00:45:28This is an entertainer's delight.
00:45:30Like, that size barbecue and a smoker.
00:45:34And a fridge.
00:45:35And a fridge, and this is your entertaining space?
00:45:38I'm happy.
00:45:39Marty definitely wasn't feeling it as much as Darren.
00:45:43There's just things here
00:45:44that don't make a lot of sense to me.
00:45:46These food cubes, this is fantastic,
00:45:48but the probability is that the house
00:45:51will be bought by somebody that might be on holiday.
00:45:53They don't tend to care for these things
00:45:55as much as what you would if it was a home
00:45:57that you're living in day to day.
00:45:58After a month or two, this will just become a pot of dirt
00:46:02and it's gonna have to end up being replaced.
00:46:05Marty thinks the gravel area is not lush enough.
00:46:11I can just imagine in a wet Phillip Island winter month,
00:46:18this is just going to feel like a slush pot.
00:46:22I really hate it.
00:46:24It does let us down here, absolutely.
00:46:27But looking, look, look back through here.
00:46:31It feels like a great holiday home backyard.
00:46:35Darren thinks you've delivered a foodies backyard
00:46:38that feels very friendly and perfect for a holiday home.
00:46:42Without a landscaper.
00:46:43Yeah.
00:46:44That's right, without a landscaper,
00:46:46they've done exceptional.
00:46:47There was one thing Marty did really want
00:46:49to praise you on today.
00:46:50The boys, how they turned around in this competition.
00:46:54They're the most impressive team
00:46:55in terms of listening and adapting.
00:46:58And they've actually built, all in all,
00:47:00a really appealing house in the marketplace.
00:47:03So I just want to commend them for that.
00:47:04Yeah.
00:47:05That's it, boys.
00:47:08Positive feedback from the judges was like,
00:47:11wow, we did that.
00:47:19It's on my mind, I guess it goes like na na na.
00:47:23Okay, house four, Carly and Pratt.
00:47:26End of a tough week for you guys.
00:47:28I'm sure it was hard getting it over the line.
00:47:35This week is definitely the hardest week.
00:47:41Our front yard is now pretty much right around
00:47:45to the tennis court entry deck.
00:47:49So it's quite a large space.
00:47:52Spoke with Julian Frenchley
00:47:54about the different James Hardy products
00:47:56that we were using on our cladding.
00:47:58You're going to have the strip
00:48:01and then Australia cladding coming up to it.
00:48:03It's going to last forever.
00:48:04Clever people at James Hardy have done a lot of work
00:48:07to make this impervious.
00:48:10Went to Beacon.
00:48:10I chatted with Lauren about getting
00:48:12some pendant feature lights.
00:48:14I think this one's like a little terrazzo.
00:48:16Yep.
00:48:17Go for the terrazzo on the black?
00:48:18Yep.
00:48:19For the front door?
00:48:20Yep.
00:48:21By three?
00:48:21Yes.
00:48:22I had my eye on maybe that terrazzo round table
00:48:27with the seats.
00:48:28Tick, tick, tick.
00:48:30Where's this going Kylie?
00:48:33Outside because I can't afford up.
00:48:35We've got my mood on a board is what we have here.
00:48:40Crane come down the driveway and parked
00:48:42right in front of our house.
00:48:44It's in half of our yard that we need to be completing.
00:48:47So we even had to send our landscapers home.
00:48:49We all just stopped and watched the tree
00:48:51because we couldn't do anything else.
00:48:53What are you guys planning to do in your garage?
00:48:57Garage doors.
00:48:57Dream garage.
00:48:59Floor matting.
00:49:00Shelving on the left.
00:49:02I would love to have been finishing on a high
00:49:03but it doesn't look like it's going to be that way.
00:49:14In our front yard with limited funds,
00:49:16it's pretty basic.
00:49:19There's some special papers that Clay organized.
00:49:23The concrete steppers they were paying for.
00:49:24One good thing.
00:49:26It's quite a large space.
00:49:32All right.
00:49:33You can play hopscotch on these.
00:49:36They came in smiling, noting you can play hopscotch
00:49:40on the stepping stones.
00:49:42Wow.
00:49:44I immediately asked Dave about, what was that?
00:49:47I just said wow, like.
00:49:49So...
00:49:50Oh.
00:49:51Well, I think that's a pretty good thing.
00:49:53They came in smiling.
00:49:55It's OK.
00:49:56Noting you could play hopscotch on the stepping stones.
00:49:58That's a good thing.
00:50:01Marty immediately asked Dave...
00:50:03So I obviously wasn't very happy with the boys' gravel.
00:50:05This is obviously a lot as well,
00:50:06but this is all going to grow in and actually form up quite nice?
00:50:09Absolutely. Again, coastal planting again.
00:50:12All of this will grow in.
00:50:13We've got the benches and again the lily pillies.
00:50:15All of that put together will give you a nice entrance.
00:50:18And you've got to love the brown steppers here.
00:50:20That's very architectural.
00:50:21The circles, too, are a really lovely balance
00:50:24against all the angles of these butterfly houses.
00:50:26Because there's lots of sharp points and sharp angles.
00:50:29And you've got the softness of the curve here,
00:50:31played out again in the mirror here,
00:50:33played out with the door handles.
00:50:35It's nice. I like that repetition.
00:50:37Mm. Mm.
00:50:39That's probably the only thing I'm liking right now.
00:50:42We're going there straight away, are we?
00:50:44Mm.
00:50:46I felt let down by them last week,
00:50:49and I'm thinking, what's happened?
00:50:51Because, to me, the grass works really well there,
00:50:56but a couple of pieces of grass there,
00:50:58like, that just, it doesn't offset the big architectural wall.
00:51:03And I love the entry doors,
00:51:05but then you've got these lights going.
00:51:08Why?
00:51:09Phillip Island is Windy City,
00:51:11and those lights are going to be smashing against that wall.
00:51:16And she has never seen a piece of artwork outside
00:51:19If you have to put a piece of art on the outside of your building,
00:51:22you're in trouble.
00:51:23It's almost like they've checked out.
00:51:25Because you don't have a façade like this,
00:51:27which is absolutely breathtaking,
00:51:30and then just lay a little bit of grass,
00:51:32put a couple of shrubs and call it a day.
00:51:34Feels like a trush.
00:51:36Feels like there was no money.
00:51:37On to the barbecue area.
00:51:39♪ I'ma ride it till it's over
00:51:46♪ I'ma ride it till it's over
00:51:53♪ I'ma ride it till it's over
00:51:54OK. Barbecue area.
00:52:00Looks like they've run out of time.
00:52:03So it has been designed to be clad.
00:52:05They've just obviously run out of time.
00:52:07It's a lovely design.
00:52:08I love the shape that they've created.
00:52:10I think if they do clad it with something that works inside,
00:52:14it'll be really beautiful.
00:52:16This area provides a good dining area
00:52:19that whoever buys your house or holidays in it will love.
00:52:24But there's something missing out here, they think.
00:52:27There's not a lot here, guys.
00:52:29It's a table, barbecue.
00:52:31Shona thinks it could have also been a real outdoor lounging area
00:52:35if some more thought had gone into the planning of this space.
00:52:39Mm.
00:52:40Marty thinks a lounge area would have been an important addition
00:52:45and it's an opportunity missed.
00:52:47You have all of this space with no lounge.
00:52:53All right, let's wrap it up.
00:52:56What's that?
00:52:57I said wrap it up.
00:52:58We had planned to have a couch.
00:53:00It doesn't matter.
00:53:01I'm not going to wrap it up
00:53:02because this is part of the deal, unfortunately.
00:53:04F*** me.
00:53:05We're reading out feedback.
00:53:07It's just the last feedback that you're going to get
00:53:09from these judges on your house.
00:53:11I really couldn't care less.
00:53:12So I'd really appreciate it if you didn't tell me to wrap it up.
00:53:18I'm not f***ing doing this.
00:53:19Shona liked the driveway colour choice of the Venus Geo stone.
00:53:23When a fire starts to burn, right, and it starts to spread,
00:53:27she gonna bring that attitude home.
00:53:29I do like the driveway colour, it works really well with the look.
00:53:33We have a functioning garage.
00:53:35It's a finished garage.
00:53:37There's just no pizzazz, no extra.
00:53:39Frankly, I don't care.
00:53:41I don't think this is going to hurt the property in any way.
00:53:45Moving around to the seating area.
00:53:47So if the money hasn't been spent on the outdoor entertaining,
00:53:50the money hasn't been spent on the garage,
00:53:52then I'm hoping to see something mind-blowing here.
00:53:56Is that what you're hoping for?
00:53:58Absolutely not.
00:54:01When I'm designing indoor-outdoor, I always think,
00:54:04where is the best seating area where I can look at the services?
00:54:08It's always the top of my list when I'm designing.
00:54:11It's not a very inviting area,
00:54:13and we'll need some screening added once the services are complete.
00:54:20As they come around the back,
00:54:21the judges could see a lot more effort in the planting.
00:54:26Oh, wow.
00:54:27It's a lot of effort for the back of the house.
00:54:29Yeah.
00:54:30This is really nicely done.
00:54:32Then they found what Marty calls
00:54:34one of the biggest marketing hooks for your house.
00:54:40A body corporate decision
00:54:41to grant you direct access to the tennis court.
00:54:46This is actually a massive feature for a buy.
00:54:50This needs to be one of the biggest marketing hooks
00:54:52within the agent's campaign because this is a gift.
00:54:56Darren was looking at the effort that has gone into it
00:54:59and he feels bad for you.
00:55:01He could definitely tell that something
00:55:03has affected your momentum in the end.
00:55:06Money.
00:55:09I look at the effort
00:55:10and how well things have been done when they're done well.
00:55:14And they actually do do things really beautifully.
00:55:17But also they just don't plan spaces that well.
00:55:21It's perplexing.
00:55:22Yeah.
00:55:23Obviously, they didn't know that you'd had a difficult week.
00:55:27But like me, they have no doubt
00:55:29that you have created a very saleable
00:55:31and marketable house on the block.
00:55:34You know, they deserve to end on a high.
00:55:37They should be really proud of themselves.
00:55:40They should be really happy from end to end of the whole house.
00:55:43And that's what we all want for them.
00:55:46We all want them to do well.
00:55:48That's it.
00:55:49It's finished.
00:55:50APPLAUSE
00:55:54Really, I'm not going to get an a**hole career out of it, am I?
00:56:01A**hole jerk.
00:56:09It's front yard and garage week.
00:56:11It's time for Christian and Mimi in House 5
00:56:14to hear their feedback from the judges.
00:56:16OK, House 5, Christian and Mimi.
00:56:20This week was an elevator.
00:56:24That's wrong.
00:56:27We are finishing our block house with our front yard,
00:56:30and that includes our beautiful balcony.
00:56:33We're doing a little driveway where you can park a boat.
00:56:36We're doing a garden shed.
00:56:37And the garage, it's all cement sheeting,
00:56:40but upstairs it goes thick and then narrow
00:56:42and then thicker and narrow.
00:56:44And then the downstairs cladding is called cement texture.
00:56:48It's so cool. I love it so much.
00:56:51We need to clear the garage
00:56:53because also we've got a battery going in.
00:56:56We have got Dream Garages doing the flooring.
00:57:01The scaffold is coming down slowly.
00:57:04DIY blinds are coming in
00:57:06and they will be installing the drop-down blinds on the balcony.
00:57:12So the task at hand for our High Pages this week
00:57:15is to install these pavers without actually grouting
00:57:18and the pods are adjustable to get them all to the right height.
00:57:21Thank you so much, High Pages.
00:57:23Yeah, our driveway is finally getting in.
00:57:25Our house is looking amazing.
00:57:31That is out of this world.
00:57:33Well, it attaches to your lounge dining, doesn't it?
00:57:35These blinds will keep most of the weather out.
00:57:37We are delivering a Ford Mustang winning garden.
00:57:42That sounds good.
00:57:46I hope the judges can see the grandeur of it all.
00:57:50Big front yard.
00:57:51This is made purely to entertain guests,
00:57:54to have multiple families.
00:57:57Second biggest palm tree on the block.
00:58:00But the most unique facade.
00:58:02Yes.
00:58:03It's been a gift from the very beginning, hasn't it?
00:58:06There's quite a few unique things about this house.
00:58:09Look over there.
00:58:10You've got a gated section where you can park a boat,
00:58:13a caravan.
00:58:15Everybody loves a shed.
00:58:17That's something nobody else has.
00:58:23This is quite nice, bright and open, okay?
00:58:26We have got the second biggest palm tree here,
00:58:28which looks fantastic, obviously,
00:58:30upstairs looking underneath there, okay?
00:58:32So it creates a little bit of privacy.
00:58:34Big selling feature, that.
00:58:35Massive selling feature.
00:58:36Yeah.
00:58:39They had a peek inside the garage.
00:58:44It's got a bit of basic storage.
00:58:46They haven't painted this wall here.
00:58:48They've just left it.
00:58:50There is a few elements of styling with the...
00:58:52The buggy.
00:58:53The buggy and the goggles and so forth.
00:58:55I would have just had that plain
00:58:57and rolled those block works straight away.
00:58:59Yeah.
00:59:00Want to go to the little seating area?
00:59:02Because I think this is really quite lovely.
00:59:04The judges then took a seat up on the deck.
00:59:07I have to say, it was a little bit questionable for me
00:59:10having this entertaining area,
00:59:12just because all the cars going past.
00:59:14But it does feel more private.
00:59:16It feels quite nice.
00:59:17This is just an amazing, simple porch, Aussie porch,
00:59:20that you can sit at and have a coffee.
00:59:23The only thing that needs to be added to this space,
00:59:26a ceiling instead of exposed plumbing.
00:59:28I would love to see that managed some way.
00:59:31It does need a drop ceiling through here.
00:59:33Upstairs, we've got a little bit of a...
00:59:36Upstairs, and they found a space
00:59:38they all agreed needed to do some more heavy lifting.
00:59:46So, Dave, this living space was a bit of a bone of contention
00:59:50because there's not a lot of space compared to the other houses.
00:59:53And the biggest thing was that it felt like a very big apartment,
00:59:56so this had to do the heavy lifting for the entertaining.
01:00:06We have fans.
01:00:08We have those fantastic screens that are retractable.
01:00:11That's really necessary if you're going to use this space all year round.
01:00:14What is great now that we're upstairs,
01:00:16as you can see through the splashback,
01:00:18is that you can see the pool,
01:00:19so it lets you keep an eye on guests downstairs.
01:00:22And also, what a barbecue.
01:00:23It's stunning.
01:00:24It's a huge feature of this space.
01:00:26I think it looks fantastic.
01:00:28Is it in the right place, though?
01:00:30No.
01:00:31They still would have preferred to see it down in the backyard.
01:00:34In every other house,
01:00:36there's a connection to that barbecue area,
01:00:38to that living and dining space.
01:00:40It's outdoor.
01:00:41That is also connected to a space kids can run around.
01:00:44They can be outdoors, but that's not it here.
01:00:47This is literally cooking, dining.
01:00:50Shona loves the elevation of this space.
01:00:53It's a magnificent place to be in the afternoon sun.
01:00:56I love the elevation here.
01:00:58I love the fact that you can be king of the castle
01:01:01and look over the block
01:01:02and see everything that's going on.
01:01:04I'm loving the stone here.
01:01:06The colouring goes so well with the flooring.
01:01:09I love the fact they've got these pots here,
01:01:11so it gives you privacy.
01:01:14But I have to say, they've got the layout wrong.
01:01:17For some reason, you have tripled your dining spaces
01:01:21but not added much extra amenity to the lounge room.
01:01:24If you take away all the tables and all the chairs
01:01:27from this balcony, what's here?
01:01:30A few pots.
01:01:33And that.
01:01:34So you've got 25 people sitting down eating.
01:01:37But you can only fit four or three comfortably there
01:01:41and four or three with the fire pit in your face.
01:01:44And that's a really strange place for a fire pit.
01:01:47Marty was really hoping for a big outdoor fireplace
01:01:50at the end of the balcony.
01:01:52That just would have been such a cosy, perfect place
01:01:56to tick that box.
01:01:57And you cannot do it in House 5,
01:01:59and you can do it in every single other house.
01:02:02You've got to be looking down that way.
01:02:04It's got to be a lot cosier.
01:02:05It's got to be a lot warmer.
01:02:07Were you going to do that?
01:02:08That was the plan.
01:02:09Money?
01:02:10Money.
01:02:11Darren says House 5 is still one of the most consistent
01:02:14homes on the block.
01:02:16It has consistently good bathrooms, great kitchen.
01:02:19The bedrooms are all beautifully designed.
01:02:21It's detailed well.
01:02:22They have put a lot of care and attention and time
01:02:26and effort into this house, and it shows.
01:02:28I agree.
01:02:29The agents will love marketing this house
01:02:31because it's also different from the rest.
01:02:34You know, we have this level of architectural detail,
01:02:38quality, and completely different looks and feels
01:02:42in a resort.
01:02:44On the block on Phillip Island, to me, is a major highlight.
01:02:48It really is.
01:02:49There's never been anything like this on the block,
01:02:51and there never will be again.
01:02:52And to have this as the 20th series, it's just pure joy.
01:02:56It really is.
01:02:57Unbelievable.
01:02:58The house is done.
01:03:00Well done.
01:03:01That's it.
01:03:23OK, scores.
01:03:24Here we go.
01:03:25For the Mustang.
01:03:28Don't talk to me.
01:03:31OK, Dave Franklin.
01:03:33Maddie and Charlie.
01:03:35Front yard.
01:03:36It's nice.
01:03:37Does it need a little bit something else?
01:03:38I think it does.
01:03:44Courtney and Grant.
01:03:45This has got the absolute perfect brief of coastal.
01:03:53Ah!
01:03:57Ricky and Hayden.
01:04:00Got a landscape that they've done exceptional.
01:04:10Kylie and Brad.
01:04:12Feels like a trush.
01:04:13Feels like there was no money.
01:04:22Just look at me, mate.
01:04:23Look like a **** again.
01:04:28Christian and Mimi.
01:04:31This is quite nice, bright, and open.
01:04:41Right, yeah.
01:04:47Darren and Marty.
01:04:48Darren first.
01:04:49Maddie and Charlotte.
01:04:50This is one of the best styled garages
01:04:52I think I've ever seen on the block.
01:04:55Courtney and Grumpy.
01:04:56Looks lush and expensive.
01:05:03Ricky and Hayden.
01:05:05This is actually really inviting.
01:05:07It's very sophisticated.
01:05:09It's very elegant.
01:05:15Damn.
01:05:16It's nice.
01:05:17Kylie and Brad.
01:05:18They just don't plan spaces that well.
01:05:41Christian and Mimi.
01:05:42You've got a gated section where you can park a boat,
01:05:45a caravan.
01:05:46That's something nobody else has.
01:05:49OK, Marty Fox.
01:05:53Maddie and Charlotte.
01:05:54What a facade.
01:05:55How beautiful is this?
01:06:00Courtney and Gramps.
01:06:02Visually, it is warm.
01:06:04It's cozy.
01:06:05It's rich.
01:06:11Ricky and Hayden.
01:06:13This is just going to feel like a slush pot.
01:06:16I really hate it.
01:06:23There's people that don't even need money.
01:06:26Kylie and Brad.
01:06:27It's almost like they've checked out.
01:06:33I need to go home and make money.
01:06:35It's as simple as that.
01:06:36I'm not wasting my time here anymore.
01:06:38I'm not.
01:06:39I've got you.
01:06:40I'm not.
01:06:41I've got you.
01:06:42We're not.
01:06:46Christian and Mimi.
01:06:48If you take away all the tables and all the chairs
01:06:51from this balcony, what's here?
01:06:55OK.
01:06:57See you in a bit.
01:06:59Good luck, boys.
01:07:01Too many food kids.
01:07:03Jada Blaze.
01:07:07Maddie and Charlotte.
01:07:08I'd say they spend all their budget in the backyard.
01:07:11Kourtney and Grumps.
01:07:12This is a dream entry.
01:07:14Ricky and Hayden.
01:07:16Wow.
01:07:17I didn't think they'd go that big.
01:07:19Kylie and Brad.
01:07:20If you have to put a piece of art on the outside of your building,
01:07:22you're in trouble.
01:07:26I hate this mess.
01:07:30Christian and Mimi.
01:07:32Disrespectful.
01:07:39OK.
01:07:42Here we go.
01:07:43Totals.
01:07:44Boom.
01:07:52OK, gang.
01:07:54Winner of week 12 on the block.
01:07:58Front yard and facade week
01:08:00and taking home the Ford Mustang Mach-E
01:08:03all the way back to their place is...
01:08:06Here we go.
01:08:09Kourtney and Grumps.
01:08:11Oh!
01:08:14Same, same.
01:08:30I didn't agree!
01:08:36I didn't agree!
01:08:42Back in your lines.
01:08:43Sorry.
01:08:44That's all right, that's all right.
01:08:45Congratulations.
01:08:46Well done.
01:08:47We're just missing someone.
01:08:48We'll see what happens with that.
01:08:49Nudge.
01:08:56Don't you dare.
01:08:58Catch that.
01:08:59I'm going.
01:09:00I'm going.
01:09:10I will break that f***ing camera
01:09:12if you come anywhere f***ing near me.
01:09:16And do they think I'm kidding?
01:09:18And don't.
01:09:22I'm going.
01:09:23What do you want me to do?
01:09:26Kylie, please, we just want you to be safe.
01:09:29Kylie, can you stop?
01:09:31We'll turn away, but we can't let you walk barefoot.
01:09:33We'll just have to follow you.
01:09:34Yes, you can.
01:09:35No, we can't leave you.
01:09:38Kylie.
01:09:39We have to follow you.
01:09:40Stay back!
01:09:47How fast are you?
01:09:49All right, what did she say, Brad?
01:09:51What did she say?
01:09:52Yeah, Kylie, when she left.
01:09:54What was the last thing she said to you?
01:09:55She's walking home.
01:09:56Hey?
01:09:57She's walking home.
01:09:58She's walking home?
01:09:59She can't have gone this far that quickly.
01:10:02Well, she's running.
01:10:04Hey, Jess.
01:10:08Yeah, yeah, yeah.
01:10:10Turn around.
01:10:13There she goes, the other way.
01:10:14Yeah, cool.
01:10:15Who's up there on the side of the road?
01:10:16Yeah, yeah, so we're back on the road now.
01:10:20Yeah, that's her.
01:10:23Hey, it's dark and unsafe, so why don't...
01:10:25It's not unsafe.
01:10:26Please don't, Emma.
01:10:27I appreciate it, but...
01:10:29So, this looks like a scene from a horror movie.
01:10:31Oh, yeah, I f***ing love horror movies.
01:10:32Well, so do I, but it's even better if you get in a car.
01:10:35I'm not getting in a car.
01:10:36Oh, dude, just go with Brad.
01:10:41Do you want to stay off-site?
01:10:42Luck is...
01:10:43No!
01:10:44They can all f*** off.
01:10:46Well, isn't it worth just...
01:10:47No, it's not, because I don't want to ever have to come back.
01:10:51I would prefer just to have to leave,
01:10:53and then they're like,
01:10:54you get nothing, fine, because you're a f***er,
01:10:57and I'm just going to go home.
01:10:59I don't want to come back for auction.
01:11:01I don't want to come back and have to deal with it.
01:11:03I don't.
01:11:05I literally don't.
01:11:15Next week...
01:11:16Let's build a Disney Plus clubhouse, eh?
01:11:19Where are the contestants?
01:11:20Some new friends drop by to lend a hand.
01:11:23Come on.
01:11:25It's not a holiday.
01:11:26I'm here for a good time, not a long time.
01:11:28Me too.
01:11:29Awesome!
01:11:30We're back!
01:11:32It's good to be back.

01:11:36This week, whoever wins gets $50,000 off of their reserve.
01:11:41Which is 50 grand in your pocket.
01:11:43Holy dooly, a big bang.
01:11:44If you want to win anything, it would be this.
01:11:46Not fair!
01:11:47I agree.
01:11:48Everyone else seems a little bit stressed.
01:11:50We've got a lot to do.
01:11:51There's a lot to do.
01:11:54Just a bit overwhelming.
01:11:57Wow.
01:11:58Look at this!
01:11:59We see some of the most spectacular spaces in block history.
01:12:03This is next level.
01:12:05I can't see anything that I'd want to change.
01:12:07It's just so good.
01:12:08And this time next week, these five houses go under the hammer.
01:12:14For God's sake.
01:12:15Will hearts break or records break in season 20's grand finale?
