00:00President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. assured that the flood victims will have enough to eat.
00:09But the DSWD is ready before the flood comes in.
00:14The Office of Civil Defense also issued a red alert to respond immediately to our countrymen.
00:21This is the message of Nef Paciente.
00:25No one should be hungry.
00:27That is one of the directives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to the DSWD in the face of the flood.
00:34According to DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian,
00:37rescue operations are not the only part of the executive order.
00:42The President also assured that the flood victims will have enough to eat.
00:47You can expect that this will continue.
00:49That is the instruction of our beloved President,
00:52that no family or victim of this calamity will be hungry.
00:56That is why the DSWD also assured that the supply of aid in the face of the government's inaction
01:01due to the effect of the flood.
01:03In fact, before the flood came in,
01:05more than 170,000 family food packs or FFPs in Bicol were already pre-positioned.
01:11121,000 are still remaining.
01:13And they are not waiting for the supply to run out.
01:16That is why more than 100,000 FFPs are being pre-positioned in Bicol.
01:20Before we felt the effect of the Christine Flood,
01:24our national stockpile,
01:26these are the FFPs that are distributed to all our warehouses across the country,
01:32was less than 2 million pieces.
01:35This morning, I don't know if they can just flash the data,
01:39but we have 1,982,600 million FFPs.
01:45It was reduced from yesterday until now because we are already releasing them.
01:48So we're all ready.
01:50In fact, I talked to Mayor Legasion yesterday.
01:54The day before, I talked to Congressman Elrey Villafuerte.
01:57I also talked to our Acting Governor of Albay, Vice Governor Glenda.
02:01And our assurance to them,
02:03even though they are the first line of defense, the local government units,
02:07the national government units are ready to increase or increase their supply.
02:12It is said that they will also provide assistance to the affected individuals
02:15by the time the Christine Flood leaves the country.
02:18Once the residents enter their homes after the storm
02:22and realize the extent of the damage,
02:24the DSWD will enter again to extend financial assistance,
02:28together with DSUD,
02:29to repair, rehabilitate their homes and properties that may have been damaged.
02:34In case the Philippine Area of Responsibility enters the country,
02:37which is experiencing a bad time in Mindanao,
02:39the DSWD is ready for this.
02:41We have stockpiles also in Mindanao and Eastern Visayas.
02:44Later on, we can share with you the graph that we pulled out a while ago.
02:48Those remain intact and we continuously produce goods out of our Cebu Processing Center.
02:53If we can remember, there are two repacking centers in the country.
02:57In Pasay, we call it the National Resource Center.
03:01And in Visayas, in Cebu, that is for Visayas and Mindanao.
03:19The OCD is already on red alert to speed up the action on the storm.
03:23It is also being planned for the rubber boats needed in the vehicle,
03:26particularly in Naga,
03:27and rescue operations are also a priority for the government.
03:30The OCD is saying that the resources are sufficient,
03:32but the flood level is still high in some places.
03:35That is why the OCD is saying that some equipment has already been deployed
03:38from the Southern Luzon Command, the AFP,
03:40to augment the operations carried out by the local governments.
03:44As we speak, Secretary Teodoro is already collecting the commitments through the J3.
03:50In fact, I have already seen the list of equipment.
03:55We also have 17 air assets prepositioned in Villamor,
04:00prepositioned in Cebu, which are readily deployable,
04:04weather permitting, because we have to be sure that our pilots, our assets are safe.
04:10And that is a commitment, and we are going to keep it.
04:16And as we speak, assistance is also coming to BICOL.
04:20First, as I said, from SOLCOM, which is the jurisdiction of BICOL,
04:27and Region 8, which is the nearby region from Tacloban.
04:31Kenneth Paciente for Pambansang TV in Bagong, Philippines.
