00:00What's up guys today, we've got another comparison the S23 versus the S23 FE
00:05Two very good phones to consider in the used refurbished marketplace
00:09And I know from reading comments that this could be kind of a confusing buy because a lot of people
00:15You know see a lot of similarities, but these phones are actually quite different. They do have
00:21I think some major differences you probably would say minor, but I think it makes a big difference in the overall experience
00:27So yeah, so let's start off with the price you can get a galaxy s23 for around
00:33375 and you can get an s23 FE actually for a little bit cheaper as well too now
00:40So, let's see what the price is
00:42Very good. We got 264 to 300
00:46Open box 350. So yeah, so
00:49Roughly around the same price. I would say
00:52depending on the condition, but
00:55Roughly you'll pay a probably a little bit more for an in and you know, and that's 23
01:00So let's go ahead and jump in here. So first off the
01:03Biggest thing you'll notice here is with the hardware. There is a size difference, which we will talk about
01:08But the s23 FE is a bigger phone
01:11That's the first thing that's gonna stand out and then also for the overall design here
01:16The s23 FE has an aluminum frame. It does have a glass back on here as well
01:21It is IP 68 dust and water resistant. The back of this is a Gorilla Glass 5 now the s23
01:28You can see again smaller phone aluminum frame IP 68 dust and water resistant
01:33But this has Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on the s23 here design-wise. They pretty much look the same
01:39You can see that the s23
01:41I like the matte finish more because you don't get those fingerprint smudges as opposed to the
01:47S23 FE which it just depends on the taste because a lot of people like this glossy look they think you know
01:53It just might come off as a little bit. I guess classier
01:56But yeah, so overall design-wise they pretty much look the same for the most part
02:01What's interesting about the s23 FE is that it's a little bit more sharp like right here when you hold it
02:06it's a very kind of like a
02:08Sharp phone and the s23 is a little bit smoother to me in the hand
02:13Which I kind of like a little bit more but essentially not too much of a difference design-wise
02:18Let's talk about the displays on here
02:20The s23 FE as you can see has a bigger display here at 6.4 inches. It is dynamic AMOLED
02:27It's 120 Hertz HDR 10 plus has 1450 nits peak brightness 1080p 403 for the PPI
02:35On the s23 we have a smaller display. It's a 6.1 inch display
02:39Dynamic AMOLED 120 Hertz HDR 10 plus and does have a higher max brightness at
02:461750 nits peak brightness both of these displays again 1080p pretty much, you know, same 400 PPI plus and
02:53Both displays pretty much look the same color wise
02:57the biggest thing you'll notice here is that the
03:01s23 is
03:03Brighter outdoors, so you kind of have to pick between do you want a bigger phone or a you know brighter phone?
03:10The s23 is definitely going to be easier to hold since it's smaller
03:14But like I said, this comes down to personal preference, but both displays look really good what you'll kind of notice as well, too
03:21With the s23 is that the screen-to-body ratio is much better
03:25You have slimmer bezels on the s23 and the s23 is 86.8%
03:31While the s23 FE is 83.2 percent. All right, here's one of the biggest reasons why you might consider
03:40getting a
03:41S23 over the s23 FE so the s23 FE we do have the snapdragon hn1
03:49128 gigs of internal storage and 8 gigs of RAM
03:52This is the base model and then on the s23 we have the snapdragon hn2
03:57128 gigs of internal storage and then we also have 8 gigs of RAM
04:00This is also the base model so you can see not a crazy difference in the single and multi-core score
04:06It is also another example in wildlife extreme so you can see 18 frames 15 frames
04:11But when you go down here, you can see you only lost a percent for that one minute test
04:16You can see 12 frames to 26 12 to 19
04:21But you can see
04:2241 to 44 and then we got 33 to 38
04:27So the s23 FE just in that short minute it just got much hotter than the s23
04:34All right. So when it comes to gaming performance, both these phones are good
04:38But this is where I think the snapdragon hn2 is definitely more efficient
04:43And it is definitely way better optimized as well to for games like PUBG as well, too
04:49It's not just the the processor. It's just the the s23 is better optimized for games and
04:55You can still game just fine on the s23 FE
04:59it's just not gonna be in my opinion as good of an experience as the
05:05S23 you can see we're at
05:07120 frames on PUBG and overall you're just getting a much better experience with gaming
05:14And I think that this phone is just overall you're just gonna get more consistent frame rate
05:19So if you're playing games like Genshin, you know, very demanding games
05:22Yeah, you definitely want to spend that extra money and get the s23. It's gonna be a better phone
05:28All right. So moving on to software what's great about the s23 FE is it actually got the Galaxy AI features here
05:36It got the same pretty much the same features, I believe
05:40So if we go to advanced intelligence
05:43You have the same features that you have on the standard s23
05:48Which is really great. So you get to take advantage of you know, the Galaxy AI features on this device
05:54Which is something that I absolutely love now also with software. There's nothing really too much different going on at all here
06:02All right. So we got both speakers at max volume. We'll start with the FE
06:35Yeah, the s23 sounds a little bit crispier
06:39It's not as loud in the bass department definitely have better bass on the s23 FE
06:49I guess it just depends on how you wanted the sound because I do like this sound a little bit more
06:54But it is lacking bass a little bit here. So it kind of depends on the sound
06:58I would say they both have really good speakers though
07:01Also what you will notice here and like I said, this might be a
07:05Minor thing or whatever, but you have the ultrasonic fingerprint sensor on the s23
07:12So it's just noticeably faster than on the FE. The FE has the optical one
07:18So it is a little bit slower
07:22But it gets the job done. It's not like it. It's not like a huge thing
07:27cameras on here
07:29Probably will be the deciding factor for a lot of people here
07:33So the FE has a 50 megapixel standard and 8 megapixel
07:38Telephoto and then a 12 megapixel ultra-wide it can shoot an ak-24 with a 10 megapixel selfie that shoots in 4k 60
07:45The s23 here. It does have a 50 megapixel as well 10 megapixel telephoto 3 times optical
07:5212-megapixel ultra-wide shoots an ak-24 and 30 and then you also have 12 megapixel selfie
07:58That shoots in 4k 60 here. So let's check out these side-by-side stills and video
08:04Let me know do you guys see a significant difference here in video or image quality?
08:28You
08:58You
09:28You
09:42Talk about battery life so battery life you would think it would be better on the s23 FE
09:48But it's actually really good on both of these phones
09:51Yes 23 because the chip is more efficient. This phone has very good battery life for a smaller device
09:57So that's something that I really loved when this phone phone first came out
10:02Is that you saw I in my opinion one of Samsung's just a significant jump in battery life across the board for you know
10:09Samsung so both of these phones have good batteries
10:12So on the s23 FE you have a four thousand five hundred milliamp hour battery
10:1725 watt charging wireless and reverse wireless charging on the s23 you have a smaller battery. It's
10:233900 milliamps again 25 watt charging wireless and reverse wireless charging, but I would say don't worry about the battery life
10:31Just because the device is smaller
10:32The battery life is actually very good on the s23 and it's pretty good on the s23 FE as well
10:38So I've never had like an issue with battery life. Um, so these are fantastic phones to get a lot of people I would say a
10:46Lot of people if you get the s23 FE and you're on a carrier
10:50I know a lot of people get to get a deal on this phone
10:52I would say go for it guys
10:54If you want to get in it's brand new and you guys, you know, you want to avoid the use refurbished marketplace
10:58That's 100% fine. But if you are spending your you know own money
11:03You're spending the actual price for these phones and use refurbished marketplace. I will go with the s23
11:09I think there's a lot to like especially if you're a gamer. I think you easily go with this phone
11:13You just will get way better
11:15gaming settings and also this phone doesn't heat up as much as we saw and then also
11:22Overall this is just a I think just feels more, you know premium for the cost
11:27You just give them a little bit more of a luxury experience
11:30You would only really get the s23 FE if you wanted a bigger size, but I would say at that point
11:36You should just get the s22 plus right? Yeah, you're not gonna get you're gonna get it
11:41I think what like a year less update or something like that one major or sub days
11:44but I think that's well worth it if you want something bigger because the
11:48S22 plus is actually bigger at I believe 6.6 inches. So I would say
11:53You know
11:54Either get the s23 if you just want an s23 series phone
11:59And you can also look at the plus size as well to s23 plus that's gonna cost a little bit more money though
12:05But let me know what you guys think and I'll catch you guys in the next one
