00:00Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus in 2024. In this video, we're going to find out if after 12 months,
00:08this is still a viable and usable phone. As always, we're going to start by talking a
00:13little bit about the exterior design, which, as you can see, is quite similar to the previous
00:19model to the S22 Plus, with only a few small shape differences on the side edges to make
00:25it more ergonomic. I've already said this many, many times, and I will say it again.
00:30Without a doubt, this is the most beautiful design that Samsung has ever created for one
00:35of their phones. They've been slowly improving it year after year, until they've reached
00:40something that's damn near close to perfect. Although, you need to know that this is no
00:45small phone by any means. It has a 6.6 inch panel, which is very close to the size of
00:52the S23 Ultra to the bigger phone, and unless you have particularly big hands, it is going
00:57to be a two-hand phone most of the time. Which you should remember, and you should take into
01:03account because if you're one of those people who spends their days going outside of the
01:07house from one place to the other, and you take your phone on and off the pocket, maybe
01:11you should go for the smaller version, the S23, nothing else. Because the Plus and Ultra
01:17models of these phones are particularly complicated to use, unless you're, as I said, using them
01:23with two hands, elbows to the chest type position, locked in, which, you know, for some people
01:29may be a big inconvenience. But anyways, in terms of the internal components, it obviously
01:34has the best of the best of 2023, which in this case, is the Snapdragon 8 Generation
01:412, optimized for Samsung. Pay close attention, my friends, this is not the normal Snapdragon
01:488 Generation 2 like on the rest of the high-end phones from Android. It has a version of this
01:52processor that's been customized to get the most out of the S23. So, of course, it is
01:59as fast as it gets in the Android game. There's no app that doesn't open instantaneously,
02:04there's no game that can't be played at maximum settings. I would even say it has spare performance
02:09right now, you can't really take advantage of the full capacity of this processor, which
02:14may seem a little stupid, but it's not, because, for example, iPhones now can play console-level
02:20games and very soon, you will be able to do the same thing on Android phones. So, thanks
02:24to having this spare performance, you will be able to play these games on the S23 without
02:29having to spend another pile of money on a new phone, which, by the way, speaking of
02:36spending piles of money, I need to tell you, I feel obligated to tell you that right now
02:42the S23 has a very good price on Amazon. I left a direct link in the description and
02:47I heavily recommend that at the end of the video you go check it out. Right now it has
02:52like a $400-$500 discount as opposed to the original price, so if you were thinking about
02:57buying this phone or you're interested, remember to click the link. But hey, let's talk about
03:02the battery life, another very strong point on this phone, because, as you can see, it
03:07has more juice than the S22 Plus and, surprisingly, than the S23 Ultra, which were already incredibly
03:15good in terms of battery life. More specifically, it is going to give you 9 hours of use, depending
03:21on the things you do with it, which I believe is more than enough for 100% of people watching
03:26this. Even if you spend the entire day outside of the house without access to any chargers,
03:32and even if you're a heavy user, you will always end up your days with some juice left.
03:37So yeah, keep this in mind because, in this case, the more expensive phone, the S23 Ultra
03:42is not the one with the best battery life. And finally, it is time to talk about the
03:47display, another very strong component on this phone, because, in this case, it has
03:53everything, and everything is everything. 120Hz LTPO panel that varies the refresh rate
04:01for maximum fluidity on top of a top-tier OLED display with 1750 nits of brightness
04:06and extremely thin bezels. I have to say, though, one of the quote-unquote downsides
04:11of this phone is that it doesn't have a 1440p panel like the S23 Ultra. And I say quote-unquote
04:20downside because, after trying the S23 Ultra and the S23 normal phone and having them side
04:26by side comparing the displays, I can confirm that the difference between 1080 and 1440
04:32on a phone is impossible to distinguish to the naked eye. The only way to notice the
04:38difference between them is if you use some kind of magnifying glass, which is not the
04:43way you normally use your phone. And also, having a 1440p display drains a lot more battery
04:50than having a 1080p display, so I wouldn't really call it a feature or an improvement
04:56over the normal S23 with the normal 1080p display.
05:00But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important component on this phone, the cameras.
05:05As you can see, right now I'm recording with the main camera on the S23, and it looks incredible.
05:11Look at this, we get a natural bokeh effect, we get a lot of dynamic range, we get very
05:15sharp video with great colors. It looks almost as good as my professional APS-C camera that
05:22I use to shoot most of my videos, which is crazy. More specifically, we get three cameras
05:27on the back of the S23, we get a 50 megapixel main sensor, which is the one you're seeing
05:32right now, and then we get two other cameras, a 10 megapixel zoom and a 12 megapixel ultra
05:38wide. As always, I'm going to leave you with another minute of photos from all the cameras,
05:42zooming in so you can see the little details, because I know most of you are pixel peepers
05:47who like to appreciate those little details and factors, and then I'll come back to give
05:51you my conclusions and talk about the selfie camera.
06:51Alright, well those were the photos from all the cameras, and as I said earlier, the
07:18photo quality is through the roof, especially on the main camera. Wow, the natural bokeh,
07:24the colors, the detail, I mean, not to undermine the other cameras, but the main sensor on
07:29this phone is like, I never thought I would see a phone with such good video and photo
07:34quality and that applies to the selfie camera too. As you can see, I'm recording with it
07:38right now at 4k 30fps and wow, look at the dynamic range, you can see the clouds and
07:45my face at the same time, there's a lot of detail, 4k video recording, you can see the
07:49little hairs on my nose, I mean, it's a phone, so if you're into photos, you're into videos
07:57and you were wondering, oh maybe the S23 is not good enough, it is good enough brother,
08:02it is very good. So, conclusion, is the S23 plus worth it in 2024? Well, yes, it is very
08:12worth it because it offers most of the features of the S24 plus for a fraction of the price.
08:19For those of you who are interested in having a flagship phone experience but are not willing
08:24to spend flagship phone money, this is perfect, this is the best deal you can have and even
08:30better since the video is now finishing, you can now click the link that I left in the
08:36description and you can see how low the price really is. Go take a look, come on, go take a look.
