00:00It's been three years since the Galaxy S20 was officially launched so of course it's time to
00:06re-review it to make an updated review on this phone to find out if it's still worth it three
00:12and a half years later in 2023. Right now the S20 is available renewed for $200 maybe a little bit
00:21less maybe a little bit more on Amazon which obviously like in every video you will find a
00:26link in the description that will take you to that Amazon price so you can get it at that very
00:31low price instead of getting it for a lot more money on other websites. But hey let's move on
00:35to the design category which as you can see is one of the strong points on this phone. It's built
00:41out of aluminum and glass with simple but elegant lines and an unbeatable feeling in your hand. If
00:47you've ever tried one of the latest Galaxy S phones you know what I'm talking about. They are
00:51very aesthetic they have good materials and above all they are very ergonomic. As for the processor
00:58we have a Snapdragon 865 which was the best processor you could put on an Android phone
01:03three years ago and therefore of course it is an absolute killing machine whatever you throw at it.
01:09The applications work super well stable and fast the system moves fluidly and without any
01:15irregularities or performance failures and you can play all the games you want no matter how
01:20demanding they are you won't have any issues. We're talking about a very similar user experience
01:25to what you can get on a Galaxy S22 with the only difference being that the S22 has spare
01:31performance and the S20 doesn't. So in the long run the S22 is going to have more good performance
01:38years than the S20 but as I said right now in 2023 they're both very similar and that's a lot to say
01:45for a phone that's more than three and a half years old. But hey let's move on to another very
01:50good feature and quite acclaimed on the S20 which is the battery life. In practical terms it will
01:56give you nine hours of continuous use before it runs out of battery which is absolutely crazy.
02:03Nine hours is around two days of usage for like a normal person and maybe a day and a half for
02:10a demanding user which is as I said crazy it's more than you need it's more than enough.
02:15I remember back in well back and I was going to say back in the day but this is like two three
02:20years ago the the the goal for a phone in terms of battery was for it to last the entire day and
02:27now we're seeing a lot of phones that very comfortably get till the end of the day and
02:31even two or even three days. So as I said this phone both right now and in two three four years
02:37will comfortably get till the end of the day. But anyways let's move on to the screen another
02:42very good component on the S20. It has an OLED panel with 120 hertz 12 000 nits of brightness
02:50and obviously the most high-end panel available at the time it came out which are specs that are
02:56absolutely ahead of their time. Remember this phone came out in 2020 and at that time there
03:01were no phones with 120 hertz or over a thousand nits of brightness. By the way let me emphasize
03:08on the panel quality too. People when they talk about displays they always focus on resolution
03:13resolution is it over 1080p is it 1080p that doesn't really matter. On a small phone anything
03:19beyond 1080p is not noticeable unless you put the phone here it is not noticeable. There's other
03:27things that are far more impactful when it comes to the quality of the display like the panel
03:32quality that's a big deal you know being able to see the phone in every angle without losing
03:37any quality colors being rich and contrasty and accurate 120 hertz the brightness all those things
03:44are far more important when it comes to the panel quality than the resolution. And of course it's
03:50time to talk about the cameras for most people the most important part of the phone of the of
03:55the entire system. Right now I'm actually recording with the main camera on the S20 at 4k 30 fps
04:01and I'm going to give you the specs which are a little bit weird for a Samsung phone. It has a
04:0612 megapixel main sensor which may seem a little bit low but don't worry look at the pictures and
04:13then tell me what you think. It has a 64 megapixel zoom lens and it has another 12 megapixel ultra
04:20wide lens. By the way as you appreciate the quality of this main sensor let me tell you well
04:26I said it at the beginning of the video but I'm going to say it again the S20 has a very very good
04:31price on Amazon you have a direct link in the description but anyways as you can see very good
04:37dynamic range you're seeing the sky and my face perfectly lit up and balanced but for most people
04:44what really matters on a phone are the pictures so like in every video I'm going to show you between
04:4930 and 40 pictures with some nice background music also zooming in so you can appreciate
04:55the details and the colors and then I'll come back to talk about the selfie camera.
05:19So
05:49So
06:20So
06:36So
06:50So
07:08So
07:20So
07:31Well what did you think very nice pictures from the main camera I told you don't worry about the
07:36only only 12 megapixels it has a very large sensor it has very large pixel size so even though it's
07:43only 12 megapixels pictures are amazing. As you can see I'm recording with a selfie camera right now
07:48I'm showing you some video as you can see on very also very good dynamic range maybe not as good as
07:53the main camera but still you can see the sky and you can see my face very good you can't really get
07:58that on a professional well maybe not professional but semi-professional DSLR and as I did with the
08:03rear cameras I'm going to show you some selfie pictures although they're not going to be as many
08:08because it's only just selfies so you Jesus a fly another fly it's summertime so of course
08:14a lot of flies in my house I'm going to show you some selfie pictures with the
08:18background music zooming in so you can see the details and then I'll come back for the conclusions
08:24so yeah summing up all of these points and as I said earlier a very good price on Amazon I would
08:50very comfortably recommend the S20 for everybody that was looking to get it you know if you if you
08:56came to watch this video because you're undecisive whether you want to buy the S20 or not get it it
09:03is a very good phone with a very good price just go buy it you're going to have an amazing experience
09:09it is a very good phone
