00:00It's been over 4 years since the Samsung Galaxy S20 was officially launched, so I think
00:06it's a very good time to re-review it, to make an updated review on this phone, to find
00:12out if right now, in 2024, it is still worth it.
00:16As always, we're going to start by talking a little bit about the exterior design, which,
00:21as you can see, it is quite similar to the previous model, to the S10, with only a few
00:26small shape differences on the side edges to make it more ergonomic.
00:30I've already said this many, many times, and I will say it again, without a doubt, this
00:35is the most beautiful design that Samsung has ever created for one of their phones,
00:41and it is also the perfect size, because at 6.2 inches, which, funny enough, is the exact
00:46same size of the iPhone 15s and 14s, it is super comfortable to hold with one or two
00:51hands, it fits in your pocket, it is not too heavy, it just feels like the right phone
00:56size to use, which is something that you should remember, because I see a lot of people
01:01get the bigger, ultra model that's huge, super heavy, because it has the most amount of features,
01:06but bro, you're not Shaquille O'Neal, you don't have huge hands, and that phone is very
01:11complicated to use with one hand, and trust me, I've tried it.
01:15Then, in terms of the internal components, it obviously has the best of the best from
01:20four years ago, which, in this case, is the Snapdragon 865, the fastest and most capable
01:26Android processor when the Samsung Galaxy S20 came out, so the speed and fluidity that
01:32you're going to feel when using it are going to be very, very good, especially considering
01:37the age of this phone.
01:38There's no game that can't be played at maximum settings, there's no application that doesn't
01:42open instantaneously, it is as good as it gets.
01:46In fact, right now, in 2024, it doesn't really differ that much from what we can see in the
01:51more recent models like the S21 and S22.
01:54Maybe it is not going to be able to play console-level games like the latest and greatest iPhones
02:00and soon enough, Android phones, but for absolutely everything else, the experience is going to
02:05be impeccable.
02:06Oh, and by the way, well, this has nothing to do with the processor, but I also believe
02:12it's something you need to know, and it's that the Samsung Galaxy S20 right now has
02:17a stupidly low price on Amazon.
02:21I left a link in the description, and I heavily recommend that at the end of the video, you
02:25go check it out, because, I mean, I've never seen it so low, and for the phone that the
02:30S20 is, this price is insane, it's almost like a steal, so yeah, remember, at the end
02:35of the video, click the link.
02:36But hey, let's move on, let's talk about the battery life, a very positive feature on this
02:41phone, since, as you can see in the test, it is as good as the Galaxy S10 and the S21,
02:48which is awesome, because those two are very good phones in terms of battery capacity and
02:52durability.
02:53More specifically, it is going to give you between 6 to 7 hours of use, depending on
02:57the things you do with it, which I believe is more than enough for the majority of people
03:01watching this, unless you spend, of course, the entire day outside of the house, and you
03:06spend the entire day using the phone.
03:08But hey, let's move on, let's talk about the display, another very strong point on this
03:13phone, because, even though it is 4 years old, this display has everything, and everything
03:19is everything, 120Hz, 1300 nits of brightness, OLED panel with extremely thin bezels, and
03:28it gets even better, because, weirdly enough, it has a 1440p panel, as opposed to the 1080p
03:35panels on the S21, S22, and S23, which is a little bit weird, right, considering those
03:42are better, more expensive, and newer phones, and that they have a lower resolution display,
03:47I don't know why Samsung has decided to lower the resolution of their modern phones, but
03:52yeah, if you're into sharpness, extreme sharpness, the S20 is going to be better than the S23,
03:59for some reason.
04:00Less money, better display, you can't lose.
04:03But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important part of the phone, the cameras.
04:08As you can see, I'm recording right now with the main sensor on the S20, which looks incredible,
04:14as you can see, there's a lot of detail, very good colors, dynamic range.
04:18The only downside with it is that, because it's a little old, it doesn't have as big
04:22of a sensor as the new models, like the S23 or S24, and therefore, we don't get as much
04:27background blur, but for everything else, it's very comparable to the top-tier models
04:32from this year.
04:34More specifically, we get three cameras on the back of the S20, we get a 12 megapixel
04:38main sensor, which is the one you're looking at right now, we get a 64 megapixel zoom sensor,
04:44for some reason, it has a ton of megapixels, and then we get a 12 megapixel ultrawide camera.
04:50As always, I'm going to leave you with another minute of photos from all of the cameras,
04:55zooming in so you can see the details, and then I'll come back to give you my conclusions
04:59and talk about the selfie camera.
06:59Well, those were the results from all of the cameras, very impressive, in my humble
07:07opinion, especially the ones on the main camera, in terms of dynamic range and detail, it's
07:13very close to what we can see on the newer phones.
07:16And that also applies, as you can see, to the selfie camera, which I'm using to record
07:20right now, and even though we don't get as much dynamic range, the sky is a little overexposed,
07:25this is very impressive, I mean, you can see my face, you can see the trees back there,
07:30it is not completely ruined like it would be on older cameras, and this is a selfie,
07:34very tiny selfie camera, so yeah, if you were wondering if the S20 is good enough or not,
07:39it is, especially considering the price and the age of the phone.
07:43So, conclusion, is the Galaxy S20 worth it in 2024?
07:49Well, yeah, I mean, I believe it is very worth it, it is priced as an entry-level phone,
07:54as a basic Xiaomi or Motorola phone, but it has very, very premium features, because
08:01it was a very premium phone when it came out, I mean, it has 120 hertz, 1300 nits of brightness,
08:071440p panel with very good cameras, very good battery life, and by the way, now that the
08:12video is about to end, it is the perfect time to click the link that I left in the description,
08:18remember, as I said earlier, Amazon link, amazing price, you can't lose.
08:23It is free, you can click it, it is free.
