00:00It's been over five years since the Galaxy S10 was officially launched, so I think it's
00:06a very good time to re-review it, to make an updated review on this phone, to find out
00:11if right now in 2024, it is still a viable and usable phone.
00:16As always, we're going to start by talking about the exterior design, which as you can
00:20see is quite similar to the previous model, to the Galaxy S9, with only a few small differences
00:26on the front side that make it look more modern and up to date with the latest models.
00:31I've already said this many, many times and I will say it again, without a doubt, this
00:36is one of the most beautiful designs that Samsung has ever created for one of their
00:40phones.
00:41In my personal opinion, actually, it is between the S10 and the S23 in terms of just raw beauty
00:47of the phone.
00:48And on top of that, it is also the perfect size because at 6.1 inches, which is funny
00:54enough, the exact same size of the iPhone 15s and 14s, it is super comfortable to hold
00:59with one or two hands, it fits in your pocket, it is not too heavy, it just feels like the
01:03right phone size to use.
01:05And this is something you should remember because I see a lot of people just go for
01:09the Ultra model because it has the more features, it's more, it's better, it's a better phone,
01:14but they forget they're not Shaquille O'Neal.
01:16You don't have larger hands than average, so you're not going to be able to use that
01:20Ultra phone with one hand.
01:22And trust me, from experience, I'll tell you that when you need to take the phone out
01:25of your pocket in the middle of the street and use it with only one hand, you'll thank
01:29me for advising you to get the more comfortable, compact phone.
01:33But anyways, let's move on.
01:35Let's talk about the internal components.
01:37More specifically, let's talk about the processor, which is the best processor you could get
01:42for an Android phone five years ago, in this case, the Snapdragon 855, which although has
01:49already been surpassed by the A65, 888, it's a generation one, a generation two, a generation
01:56three, it is still a very capable processor, it is very well optimized, it's going to give
02:02you a very speedy and fluid experience with the day-to-day apps like TikTok or Instagram
02:08with your day-to-day phone games.
02:10Of course, it is not going to be able to play the latest Assassin's Creed or the latest
02:14Resident Evil like the latest iPhones can, but for absolutely everything else, all of
02:20your day-to-day apps, all of the things just average people do with their phones, it is
02:24going to give you a very pleasant experience, which is very impressive taken into consideration
02:29that it's very, it's kind of old.
02:30And by the way, do you know what is also very impressive?
02:35The price of the Galaxy S10 on Amazon.
02:39It is absurd at this point.
02:41It is priced as an entry-level phone, but it brings you a way better experience in future
02:48set than a basic level phone.
02:50I left a direct link in the description and I heavily recommend that at the end of the
02:55video you go check it out because if you wanted to buy an S10, right now is the moment.
03:00The price is ridiculous, but at the end of the video, because we have to keep talking
03:05about the S10, let's move on, let's talk about the battery life, a very positive feature
03:11on this phone since as you can see in the test, it is almost as good as the Galaxy S20
03:16and S21, which is great considering that those two are very good phones in terms of battery
03:22capacity and durability.
03:24More specifically, it is going to give you six to seven hours of use depending on the
03:28things you do with it, which I believe is more than enough for the majority of people
03:32watching this, unless you spend the entire day outside of the house and you spend the
03:37entire day using the phone.
03:39But hey, let's talk about the most impressive feature on the S10.
03:42Let's talk about the display.
03:45This is insane considering the age of the S10.
03:48It has a 1300 nit brightness display with a 1440p resolution, absolutely absurd.
03:56It is actually a higher resolution than the S23 and S24, which kind of doesn't really
04:01make any sense, but I guess Samsung decided that it didn't really make sense because people
04:06couldn't tell the difference and they were just burning a lot more battery than they
04:09should unnecessarily, so they lowered it to 1080p.
04:12But if you really care about sharpness, technically you can get a better, sharper display with
04:17the S10 than you would get with an S24.
04:20That's like five, six times more expensive.
04:22So yeah, it's kind of like a little exploit.
04:24You can get a technically better phone for less money.
04:27And well, the only real downside of the S10 is that it doesn't have 120 Hertz like the
04:32newer models, so you can't really have that buttery smooth fluid experience when you're
04:36scrolling through an app.
04:37But I don't think this is such a big deal considering the price and considering that
04:41the latest iPhone 15 doesn't have 120 Hertz either, and people don't really care.
04:47People don't even notice.
04:48So yeah, if you're a normal user, I wouldn't worry about this because most likely you're
04:51not going to notice anyways.
04:53But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important component on the Galaxy S10, which
04:59yes, is the camera.
05:01As you can see, I'm recording right now with the main sensor on the S10, and it is very
05:06impressive.
05:07In a lot of ways, it looks very similar to the latest phone, to the S24.
05:11It has a lot of detail.
05:13There's a lot of dynamic range, colors are great.
05:16The only main difference between this camera and the camera on the latest models is that
05:20it has a slightly smaller sensor.
05:23But besides that, I mean, it's crazy identical in all those other aspects.
05:29More specifically, we get three cameras on the back of the S10.
05:33We get a main sensor with 12 megapixels, which is the one you're looking at right now.
05:38We get a zoom camera with 2x telephoto and also 12 megapixels.
05:43And then we get a 16 megapixel ultra wide camera.
05:46As always, I'm going to leave you with another minute of photos from all of these cameras
05:50zooming in so you can see the little details.
05:53And then I'll come back to give you my conclusions and talk about the selfie camera.
06:59Okay, well, those were all of the cameras.
07:11I have to say, my friends, in my humble opinion, especially the main camera is incredibly impressive.
07:17The colors, the dynamic range, the detail.
07:20I mean, sure, we've evolved from the S10 to the S24, but I think it's mainly based on
07:25the size of the sensor.
07:27But in every other aspect, it's, I mean, I don't want to say it's the same, but it is
07:32very close to the same.
07:34So if you were worried about the S10 not having good enough quality, it's good.
07:39It's pretty good.
07:40I mean, and that also applies to the selfie camera, which as you can see is the one that
07:42I'm using right now.
07:44And that is also very good, surprisingly good for a tiny sensor that usually that's what
07:49we get on selfie cameras as a ton of dynamic range, maybe not as much detail as the main
07:54sensor, but we get pretty good colors.
07:57It also works very well.
07:58It adapts to lighting in a very fast and smooth manner.
08:02So yeah, I mean, very solid set of cameras on the S10.
08:06If you were worried, don't be.
08:08They are very good, especially considering the price.
08:11So conclusion, is the Galaxy S10 worth it in 2024?
08:16Well, yes, it is very worth it.
08:20I mean, it is a very, very cheap phone and it offers better features than similarly priced
08:27mid to low-end phones.
08:29So yes, it is a very good phone and as I said, it has a beautiful price on Amazon right now.
08:35Link in the description.
08:36Now that the video is finished, it is a perfect time, a perfect time to click the link.
