00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be doing a comparison of the Galaxy Note 10 Plus versus
00:05the S24 Ultra here. This is a comparison that I was really interested in and really to see
00:11how my audience would react to this one. Are you guys thinking about upgrading? Let's go ahead and
00:18see, is it actually worth the upgrade? I think this is one of Samsung's best phones of all time
00:22in my opinion. As we're going to see, it has aged extremely well for a phone that came out in 2009.
00:28Alright, so let's go ahead and get started. First off, let's just address the design here. The Note
00:3310 Plus has the Aura Glow color and Samsung unfortunately never went back to this. I think
00:38it might have been a little too flashy. They kind of went with more boring colors,
00:42but they never went back to this sort of crazy design where it hits the light and it goes all,
00:47you know, type of crazy. Very cool looking. Anytime I have this phone, people always want
00:53to ask what type of phone it is. Really catches people's attention here. And on the S24, what I
00:58like about this phone, it has a matte finish, so it doesn't pick up fingerprints like you can see
01:03on the Note, which is really nice. And you can see you do have bigger cameras now. The cameras
01:09are updated, which we will talk about. But essentially, not too much different going on
01:14here. They're both IP68 dust and water resistant. They both have the S-Pen down below as well too.
01:20But there is a big thing with the hardware here is that the Note 10 Plus has SD card support and
01:25the S24 does not. Also, the S24 does have the new titanium design on here, which is really nice
01:34because for a phone with such a big battery, it is kind of light or a little bit lighter than the S23
01:42at least, which is really nice. And that's pretty much it. They're both that boxy square design.
01:48They're both kind of cut into the hand as well. But design-wise, I think the Note 10 Plus still
01:53looks really good. I think it still looks really modern, actually very unique in this color here.
01:58Now for all my S-Pen users, I think if you're just a normal S-Pen user, you just use it to
02:03navigate with, you won't notice a difference. But there is a difference here when it comes to
02:08how instant the S-Pen feels. So if you're in a digital artwork, this is probably something that
02:13might be really interesting to you because it is pretty much instant now. With the Note 10 Plus,
02:18it still feels really good. There could be a lot more playing into this, like the 120Hz on here
02:23as well to making it feel faster, but I'm pretty sure that the MS is a bit lower on this one.
02:31But yeah, so if you're just a normal S-Pen user, they're virtually the same. They have all the same
02:36features. But like I said, if you're in a digital artwork and stuff like that,
02:39this one is definitely a little bit faster. And like I said, it's a little bit, I guess,
02:43more accurate. So yeah, so that's just something to note. Alright guys, so there is a slight
02:49display upgrade, but really not that much big of a difference. It really depends on how much you're
02:55into displays here. So the S24 Ultra has a 6.8-inch LTPO AMOLED display. It's 120Hz at HDR10+. It's
03:052600 nits peak brightness, extremely bright outdoors in direct sunlight. It's 1440p 505 for
03:12the PPI. The Note 10 Plus has a 6.8-inch display as well, so they're pretty much the same size.
03:18And it's Dynamic AMOLED HDR10+, 60Hz display, 1440p 498 for the PPI. Basically, the Note 10 Plus
03:28still has a really good display. They're the same resolution-wise, but there is a big difference
03:33here when it comes to the refresh rate. You know, you're going from 60 to 100Hz. And yeah,
03:38you will notice that when you're scrolling and swiping as well too. And also, the Note 10 Plus
03:44has a curved screen and the S24 has a completely flat display now. So that might be something that
03:50you really like. As far as like putting screen protectors on and stuff like that, it's going to
03:55be easier. But I can't say that image quality is really that much better. I mean, both screens,
04:00the Note 10 Plus looks amazing, right, for a phone that came out in 2019. It still looks extremely
04:05good. But like I said, the Note 10 Plus still has a smooth 60Hz panel too as well. But you will
04:11notice that 120Hz. I don't want to like diminish that at all. You will notice 120Hz. You will
04:17notice that it is brighter in direct sunlight. But like I said, it's not like a crazy, crazy good
04:24upgrade, right? You know, I can't really sell y'all on the display here. The Note 10 Plus just
04:30has a great display. I mean, I can't really say that much more. It looks almost identical
04:36in terms of the quality. Now, as far as the brightness and refresh rate, yeah. But as far
04:42as the quality, it's still an excellent panel. All right, guys, let's talk about the specs a
04:45little bit more here. So you can see we got the Geekbench scores pulled up here on Geekbench 6.
04:50You can see the multi-core and single-core. And you can see big, big score difference here. Let's
04:55talk about the specs a little bit more. So the Note got its last major OS update with Android 12,
05:01One UI 4. It is no longer getting, you know, major OS updates or security patches anymore.
05:07And it also has the Snapdragon 855 chip on here. Like I said, micro SD card support,
05:13256 gigs of internal storage, and 12 gigs of RAM. With the S24, it does have the new
05:19Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. It also has, again, no SD card support, 256 gigs of internal storage,
05:26and 12 gigs of RAM. This one here is the 512 gigabyte though. And yeah, so as far as speed,
05:32like I said, a lot of the speed difference is really coming from the high refresh rate for the
05:37most part. I don't really think it's coming from it just being overall, like, faster. But I think
05:44the animations and everything are definitely smoother on the new One UI 6 and just the 120
05:52hertz. But as you guys can see, I mean, it's keeping up with the S24 really easily. So the
05:58Note 10 Plus by no means is a slow phone at all, you know, especially for its age. But like I said,
06:06the only thing I think you'll notice the difference here is with the overall animations.
06:12Because honestly, if you're like loading up applications and stuff like that,
06:15yeah, there's a little bit of a wait here, but it's not that big of a deal.
06:21Just check out scrolling. That's one of the things I always look for,
06:24like scrolling, like the scrolling is going to be smoother because of the high refresh rate.
06:33And got a log out of something. But you guys get the point.
06:38Um, yeah, it's faster, but it's not that much faster. Again, you'll notice the speed when it
06:44comes to animations. Now, if you are a gamer here, basically, the gaming experience is going to
06:51depend on whether you're like an actual gamer and you play a lot of games. If you're somebody that
06:56casually games, you're not going to really be too much impressed. The Note 10 Plus, believe it or
07:01not, still is very powerful and can play, you know, PUBG at HDR extreme pretty easily. But like
07:08I said, if you're really into games like that, because you have the high refresh rate on the
07:15S24, you will get that 90 frames. So if you're somebody that's into playing games that you want
07:21like the super fast frames and you play competitively, this could be a good upgrade
07:26for you for sure. But if you're somebody like me that you just casually kind of play games,
07:30you're in here, play a match or two, then you're off, then definitely you don't need to upgrade
07:36for gaming performance. And like I said, the Note 10 Plus is still doing really great. Call of Duty
07:41mobile works really well. Like I said, it's really just, again, the high refresh rate. It's not
07:46necessarily a game that I can't really play. You can still play emulators on here. You can do a lot
07:51with this phone. So it's still a very powerful chipset for the most part. It doesn't really have
07:56any type of overheating problems. What I will say is the S24 is a really cool device as far as
08:03playing games and it's not really overheating or anything like that. So very impressive with that.
08:08And also, if you play a lot of games, you do get the battery life benefit as well too,
08:12which we'll talk about a little bit. But yeah, so as far as gaming performance,
08:17not that big of a difference if you're a casual gamer. But if you're somebody that plays games,
08:22then yeah, you'll notice the difference. 90 frames, better battery life, better cooling.
08:28Let's check out the speakers, max volume.
08:52So I'm not sure, again, if the mic is picking this up, but much better sound on the S24.
09:12Overall, louder speakers as well too. Better bass, a cleaner sound as well too. It's actually
09:18a pretty good speaker upgrade for the most part. As far as the biometrics go, again,
09:23nothing has changed. Ultrasonic feels the same. You can also do face unlock. And as far as the
09:29features, you essentially have all the same features except for the Galaxy AI stuff,
09:34which I will go ahead and show you real quick. And here are the Galaxy AI features that Samsung
09:40is trying to sell a lot of people on. I guess this is going to be the future of really the phones in
09:46the next couple of years is they're going to be really pushing this AI software. You can see with
09:50the photo editor, Samsung internet as well too. And just to basically show you just some cool
09:57stuff with the AI is basically you could, I think this is my favorite thing, searches for stuff.
10:04And hopefully Samsung does not charge for this, but it'll be able to search for stuff and it's
10:09pretty accurate. There's a lot of stuff, live transcription on here. If this interests you,
10:16there's a live interpretation on here, a voice recorder on here. It'll do transcripts for that.
10:22It'll summarize web pages. The photo editor, you can move stuff around and do stuff like that with
10:28the editor now. It's very cool, but it might not interest a lot of people. You might find yourself
10:33not even using it. It really just depends on the person. I personally think you have to be a little
10:38bit more tech savvy. If you're not, then you're probably not going to care about it. All right,
10:42guys, let's talk about the camera. So there's a pretty big spec upgrade when it comes to the
10:47cameras. And it really comes down to the side-by-side stills, whether you think the
10:51image quality justifies the upgrade that you're going to do, even if you trade your device in.
10:56You're going to be paying quite a bit. And I think this is kind of like the selling point here
11:00for Note 10 Plus users. So the Note 10 Plus, it does have a 12 megapixel standard, a 12 megapixel
11:06telephoto, two times optical, and a 16 megapixel ultrawide, 0.3 depth sensor. It shoots in 4K60,
11:13and it has a 10 megapixel selfie that also shoots in 4K60. The S24 does have a 200 megapixel
11:20standard, a 50 megapixel periscope telephoto, five times optical, 10 times telephoto lens on here as
11:28well. That does three times. And then a 12 megapixel ultrawide. It shoots in 8K24, or 8K30,
11:36and then you have a 12 megapixel selfie cam that shoots in 4K60. And it also does the 100 times
11:43space zoom as well too. So yeah, check out these side-by-side stills. Let me know what you guys
11:48think.
12:18So
13:18all right. So lastly, we're going to talk about battery life here. So with the Note 10 Plus,
13:39we do have a 4,300 milliamp hour battery. It is 45 watt fast charging, which is really nice.
13:47It's 15 watt wireless, and reverse wireless charging is on board. The S23 has a much
13:52bigger battery at 5,000 milliamps. It also has 45 watt charging, 15 watt wireless, and reverse
13:58wireless charging is on board. So the battery experience has been extremely good with the S24
14:05Ultra. I definitely think it's a highlight with this phone. Really, really good battery life.
14:11Basically, if you're somebody who feels like your Note drains too fast, this could potentially be
14:18an upgrade because the battery life really is that excellent. But honestly, you could kind of
14:23trade this in and get an S23, which also has almost just as good battery life as the new S24.
14:30So yeah, so it depends on really what you thought of the comparison, guys, because yeah,
14:38you can actually just get an S23 Ultra. It's extremely close to the S24, and they're going
14:43to bring the Galaxy AI features to the S23 as well too, so you're not going to miss that.
14:50But yeah, so it really depends on... You're going to be giving up the SD card support,
14:55but you are going to be getting a much faster phone. You're going to be getting seven years
14:59of major OS updates as well too. I thought the image quality was definitely pretty good. You get
15:05a lot of zoom capability with the S24 as well too, but it just depends if you're going to use
15:12the features in here because the Note 10 Plus is still a really good phone, just how it is.
15:18So be sure to let me know what you guys think, and I'll catch you guys in the next one.
