00:00What's up guys, so it is now after the official Galaxy S24 Ultra and S24 lineup launched today
00:07and I'm really curious to see what you guys thought of the launch, would you guys be upgrading,
00:13especially my guys with older flagship phones because this was a device that a lot of people
00:19were holding out on just to see what Samsung announced and majority of the phone got leaked
00:25but I wanted to touch on one thing that I thought was interesting because they were
00:30talking about Galaxy AI a lot and it says that Samsung says Galaxy AI features will
00:36only be provided until 2025 so I guess this might have been in the fine print but you
00:42can see it was kind of like pointed out by Adam J Matlock and it says Galaxy AI features
00:51will be provided for free until 2025 on supported Samsung Galaxy devices, different terms may
00:58apply for AI features provided by third parties.
01:01So it brings up this question on what people pay for the Galaxy AI features and it's really
01:06bizarre because the Galaxy AI features, the Pixel pretty much does a lot of these things
01:14that the Galaxy AI is already doing for free so I think it would be strange if Samsung
01:19charged people for this and not only would it be bizarre that they charge for this but
01:24the price went up and this is why I said it doesn't make any sense because Samsung did
01:28a price hike this year on the S24 Ultra you can see and yeah so I thought that was pretty
01:35bizarre I thought the price hike would cover the AI stuff but apparently they're going
01:40to try to hike the price and charge you for this Galaxy AI which I think is absurd.
01:47Now you can turn it off, you're not forced to use it but I just think it's weird that
01:52Samsung would do that, I actually really don't like that.
01:55With that information it kind of throws off the trade-off, the trade-in deals right?
01:59The trade-in deals are a little bit better than last year as you can see you get $750
02:03for the Galaxy but like I said, I don't know, I felt like a couple years ago the trade-in
02:11deals were a little bit better but you can see S21 you get $550, S22 $450, Note 9 $400,
02:20Note 10 $400 which I think should be a little bit more but as you guys can see the trade-in
02:24deals as for right now with the pre-order stuff is okay but like I said it is a little
02:31bizarre that you got that price hike kind of throws it off, makes it not as good but
02:36you know still somewhat decent but yeah let's talk about the actual changes, there were
02:42very small changes here with the phone here so you can tell that smartphones are kind
02:50of hitting like the ceiling because there was really minimal change here.
02:54Of course we got the new Snapdragon processor, the titanium frame is kind of exciting to
03:00make the phone feel much lighter, I think that's going to be really nice and then you
03:04also have a crazy brightness now of 2600 nits peak brightness which I thought was pretty
03:09good so that's really cool and also you will get a new 5x optical zoom that's going to
03:18have better quality, now this used to be 10x zoom but they changed it so I thought that
03:23was pretty interesting but overall I don't think the cameras in its entirety is going
03:28to be better than the S23 Ultra or even the S22 by a lot, I don't think it's going to
03:34be noticeable at all, typically it's not.
03:40Also the battery life is probably still going to be good hopefully, they didn't change the
03:45charging speeds it's been stuck at 45 watts for a long time but yeah so let's go ahead
03:51and talk about which devices you could potentially upgrade, obviously the Note 9 is going to
03:57be a great upgrade to the S24 Ultra but like I said you're going to be losing out on a
04:04lot of features that a lot of people want that keep these phones like the SD card support
04:09and also the headphone jack but if you do pre-order you do get 512 gigabytes of storage
04:14which is nice and also they got rid of the base model which is now 12 gigs of RAM, the
04:20Note 10 Plus I think is still a fantastic phone and you really don't need to upgrade
04:24it but the only thing with these phones now is that they don't have security updates or
04:29you know major OS updates and also the Note 20 Ultra is also a phone that is still really
04:35excellent just check out my videos that I did on these phones, S21 Ultra you really
04:40do not need to upgrade at all unless you just really want to there's really nothing that
04:45the S21 Ultra is just too good in comparison even to the S23 it's just a really good phone,
04:52the Note 20 Ultra like I said a lot of people are going to keep this phone simply again
04:56because the SD card support but like I said if you don't take a lot of video and you hold
05:01the Note 20 Ultra and you're thinking about upgrading you don't take a lot of video you
05:05don't download a lot of stuff you know and you don't care about the SD card it would
05:10be a pretty good upgrade I think the cameras are going to be better, battery life is going
05:14to be noticeably better as well too and also the screen you can use at 1440p 120hz I want
05:21to compare this all for you guys when I get them and yeah I just don't think if you have
05:28like maybe a Note 20, S21, S22 you really don't need to upgrade I just don't think it's
05:35that necessary but if you have older phones that not getting security updates what's funny
05:41is that you really don't have to upgrade but if you're thinking about upgrading I don't
05:46think it would be a bad idea at all considering that the trade in value is okay kinda but
05:53you're still going to spend a lot of money though so that's the thing that sucks but
05:58let me know what you guys think what are you guys thinking are you guys going to trade
06:01in your phone are you thinking about upgrading be sure to let me know and I'll catch you
06:06guys in the next one.
