00:00Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra in 2024.
00:05In this video, we're going to find out if after 12 months, this is still a viable and
00:10usable phone.
00:11As always, we're going to start by talking a little bit about the exterior design, which
00:16as you can see, is quite similar to the previous model, to the S22 Ultra, with only a few small
00:23shape differences on the side edges to make it more ergonomic.
00:27I've already said this many, many times and I'll say it again, without a doubt in my mind,
00:33I believe this is the most beautiful design that Samsung has ever created for one of their
00:38phones.
00:39It is very elegant, feels very good in your hands.
00:42It's also made out of very premium materials, although, well, I have a little gripe with
00:47it and it's that it's incredibly big.
00:50It has a 6.8 inch display with very pointy edges that makes it almost impossible to use
00:57with one hand unless you're Shaquille O'Neal.
01:00And this is something a lot of people don't think about, but it's very important.
01:03If you're sitting on a chair all day on your computer at work or at college, school, and
01:08you don't really need to use the phone with only one hand, well, it's fine.
01:12You can buy the S23 Ultra, no problem.
01:15But if you're one of those people who spends their days outside of the house, moving from
01:19one place to the other, I mean, maybe this is not the phone for you because as I said,
01:24it is almost impossible to use with one hand.
01:28But anyways, in terms of the internal components, it obviously has the best of the best of 2023,
01:35which in this case is the Snapdragon 8 Generation 2 optimized for Samsung.
01:41Pay close attention, my friends.
01:43This is not the normal Snapdragon 8 Generation 2 like on the rest of the high-end phones
01:48from Android.
01:49It has a version of this processor that's been customized to get the most out of the S23.
01:54So of course, it is as fast as it gets in the Android game.
01:59There's no app that doesn't open instantaneously.
02:01There's no game that can be played at maximum settings.
02:04I would even say it has spare performance right now.
02:06You can't really take advantage of the full capacity of this processor, which may seem
02:12a little stupid, but it's not because for example, iPhones now can play console level
02:17games and very soon you will be able to do the same thing on Android phones.
02:21So thanks to having this spare performance, you will be able to play these games on the
02:25S23 without having to spend another pile of money on a new phone, which by the way, speaking
02:31of spending piles of money to buy new phones, I need to tell you that right now the S23
02:37Ultra has a very, very good price on Amazon.
02:41I left a direct link in the description and I heavily recommend that at the end of the
02:46video, you go check it out because I think it has like a four or $500 discount as opposed
02:51to the original price.
02:53So if you were thinking about buying it, remember that at the end of the video, you should click
02:58the link.
02:59But anyways, let's move on.
03:00Let's talk about the battery life.
03:02Another very strong point on this phone because as you can see, it has more juice than the
03:07S23 and the Galaxy S22 Ultra, which were already very good phones in terms of battery life.
03:15More specifically, it is going to give you around eight hours of use depending on the
03:19things you do with it, which I believe is more than enough for the majority of people
03:23watching this.
03:24Unless you spend the entire day outside of the house and you spend the entire day using
03:29the phone, you are going to have absolutely no problems with the S23 Ultra.
03:35And well, finally, it is time to talk about the display.
03:39Another very, very strong point on this phone because in this case, it has everything and
03:45everything means everything.
03:48120 hertz LTPO panel that varies the refresh rate for maximum fluidity on top of a top
03:55tier OLED display with 1,750 nits of brightness and extremely thin vessels.
04:01It has absolutely everything, although I have to say that one of the features that it includes,
04:07which is the fact that it has a 1440p panel as opposed to 1080p, which was what most phones
04:12have, well, that feature is not really visible to the naked eye.
04:18I have had the S23 Ultra and the iPhone 15 Pro Max and the S23 normal version, which
04:25has a 1080p display, and there are absolutely no differences in terms of sharpness between
04:31these phones because it is a very tiny device with a very tiny display.
04:36If you can barely notice the difference between 1080p and 1440p on a monitor, you're not going
04:41to be able to notice that difference on a phone.
04:44So I mean, I guess it's nice to have because you have spare sharpness, I guess.
04:50But if you're not going to notice it, it's just a feature that's draining more battery
04:54life than it should for absolutely no gains in in terms of viewing experience.
04:59But anyways, it's time to talk about the most important part of the phone, the cameras.
05:04As you can see, I'm recording right now with the main sensor, the main camera on the S23
05:09Ultra, and well, it looks incredible.
05:12We get natural bokeh effect, we get a lot of detail, we get great colors.
05:16More specifically, we get four cameras on the back of the S23 Ultra.
05:20We get a main sensor, which is the one you're looking at right now, and that has 200 megapixels.
05:26Absolutely insane.
05:27Then we get two zoom cameras, a 3x and a 10x, both at 10 megapixels.
05:33And we get an ultra wide sensor at 12 megapixels.
05:36As always, I'm going to give you another minute of photos from all of the cameras, zooming
05:41in so you can see the little details, and then I'll come back to give you my conclusions
05:46and talk about the selfie camera.
07:03Okay, what do you think?
07:17As I said earlier, absolutely insane.
07:21The main sensor is out of this world.
07:23The ultra wide sensor is out of this world.
07:26Maybe the zoom cameras are a little bit below what we can see on other phones, but just
07:32a little bit.
07:33The selfie, by the way, this is incredible.
07:35Samsung always kills it with the selfie camera.
07:38This makes no sense.
07:40Look at the dynamic range.
07:41You can see the clouds in my face and my little hairs on my nose.
07:46On a selfie camera on a phone, I never thought this was going to be possible.
07:50So if you were wondering if maybe the S23 Ultra is not good enough in terms of video
07:55or photo, it is good enough.
07:58Very, very good.
07:59So conclusion, is the S23 Ultra worth it in 2024?
08:04Yes, it is worth it.
08:07Very worth it because it packs up very beastly features, high end features, almost identical
08:14to the ones on the S24 Ultra, but it is a lot cheaper.
08:18A lot cheaper in comparison.
08:21So you can get last year's model, get almost all the features and spend a lot less money
08:26you can use to buy another phone, a pair of headphones, or even a fucking iPad for that
08:31much money.
08:32I mean, it's a lot of money.
08:33So yeah, remember link in the description to Amazon with the best price just in case
08:38you're interested.
