00:00What's up guys, today we're going to be talking about the Galaxy S23 in 2024 and this is a
00:07fantastic buy this year guys and the price has come down a lot on the S23 in the used
00:13refurbished marketplace. You can easily find these for, you know, $374, $400. This is in
00:21excellent condition and I actually got this one used from eBay. It was a pretty good deal
00:27and yeah, I absolutely love the phone. What's nice about the S23 is you really don't have any type of
00:35hardware problems with this phone. I absolutely love the way the phone feels. It's rounded on
00:40the edges and it just feels comfortable in the hand. It's a smaller phone so it's great for
00:46anybody who wants a smaller device because you don't have to kind of strain your hands holding
00:51it. You can easily kind of use it with one hand and the design, it still pretty much looks like an
00:57S24. I don't even think you could really tell the difference from this and S24. It's got a matte
01:04finish. You got the glossy sides on here. Of course, it's IP68 dust and water resistant. A full premium
01:10design on here as well too. Beautiful camera design on here and absolutely love the S23's
01:19design here. A world-class display on here. It is a 6.1-inch dynamic AMOLED display. It is 120Hz
01:27HDR10+. It's a fantastic panel on here. It also gets up to 1750 nits peak brightness as well too.
01:36It's full 1080p and you also do have a 425 for the PPI and this is running Gorilla Glass
01:43Victus 2 as well too. I absolutely love the display. There's really nothing wrong with the
01:49panel at all. Like I said, it still looks like an S24 as well too. You got your punch hole, very slim
01:56bezels on here and like I said, the max brightness is great on this phone. If you're outdoors and it's
02:01sunny, I think it's perfectly seeable. I absolutely love the display. Very colorful, very vibrant
02:09panel here. Alright, so let's talk about performance on the S23. I have zero issues with
02:15performance. This is running the Android 14 One UI 6.1 update and then you also have the Snapdragon
02:218 Gen 2 processor on here. You also do have the 128GB of internal storage. The base model is 8GB
02:29of RAM. You also have the UFS 4.0 and I think it's UFS 3.1 on the 128GB model only. So regardless,
02:40it's a very fast phone. When you're launching applications, when you're pretty much doing
02:44anything, it feels just like a Galaxy S24. There's legit no difference here. What was really cool
02:51about the S23 series is that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 was a pretty big deal when it came to battery
02:57life. So this phone also does do a good job in terms of screen on time and giving you good battery
03:03life, especially for a smaller device. So you get a pretty powerful phone and what's great about this
03:09phone in particular is that you do have, if you are into the advanced intelligence or the Galaxy
03:15AI stuff, this has pretty much all of the Galaxy AI stuff. So I was really happy when they brought
03:23this down to the older devices and it feels, like I said, it's even more of a reason to get a Galaxy
03:29S23 series phone in general because you still have that fresh feel of getting the new big Galaxy AI
03:38features that they're going to keep adding, of course, throughout the year. So it'll be very
03:42interesting. But so far, software wise, this phone is blazing fast still. Alright, so the gaming
03:48performance on the 8 Gen 3 is excellent, especially for, you know, a $400 device if you get this phone
03:54in the user refurbished marketplace and I'm pretty sure you can get deals on this phone as well too
03:58on your carrier. But this is a fantastic phone. Like I said, I'm going to do a comparison with
04:04the S23 FE so you guys can see what I'm talking about, but this phone, it doesn't heat up as much
04:10as the S23 FE and overall you get better performance as well too. Better battery life as well when
04:16you're gaming. So I think this is a phenomenal choice for gaming and especially if you're like
04:21me, you like to game on smaller phones and stuff like that, then this is great. You don't have to
04:26sacrifice having bad battery life, right? And when we switch over to a game like PUBG, you also get
04:33excellent settings here. You can see we're running PUBG at 120 frames. So yeah guys, I really love
04:39the S23. Very comfortable, not heating up, no issues at all, even on this base model. You know,
04:47holding applications in the background is fantastic as well too. So you can use this definitely for
04:52gaming as well too. Now I think the cameras are probably the most impressive thing about the S23
04:59here. It's got a 50 megapixel standard and a 10 megapixel telephoto. You have three times optical
05:05zoom with a 12 megapixel ultrawide. It also can shoot in 8K 24 and 30 and then you also have a 12
05:11megapixel selfie that shoots in 4K 60. You still get excellent photos on this phone. Very clear and
05:18nice pictures. I really didn't have an issue with the image quality at all on this phone. Everything
05:23looks great. Dynamic range is awesome on here. Great detail. The three times does an excellent
05:29job. You still get a good amount of detail and everything looks really crispy and also the video
05:34is solid too. The selfie cam is great. I have zero complaints about this camera. You're still
05:39basically getting the same photos you would get on an S24 for the most part here. So if you're
05:45buying this phone and you take a lot of pictures, I think you'll be more than happy with the image
05:49quality that you get from the S23. We've got stereo speakers on the S23 at max volume.
06:14So I think the speakers sound pretty good. Even if you cover this bottom speaker you still get a
06:19really good sound out of this top speaker here. The fingerprint scanner is the ultrasonic one. It
06:24still works great. Samsung has got that down packed for a while now. So as far as the battery life
06:30goes, it's really hard for me to like run out of battery in this phone for a full day. It's just
06:40not possible if you're a light user. Maybe if you're gaming heavy you'll kind of get close to
06:45you know running out of battery. But even still like with the type of gaming it still does a
06:51pretty good job with gaming. I think it's really hard to kill a battery in a day here. But you have
06:56a 3,900 milliamp hour battery, 25 watt charging. You also do have wireless charging and reverse
07:03wireless charging as well too on board. And like I said I think the battery life is pretty solid
07:08on the S23. I can't really complain about it especially for its size. I think it does a pretty
07:13good job with screen on time. So overall I think this is a great choice. I'm going to do some
07:20comparisons with this phone as well too just to kind of give you guys some options and you know
07:25another perspective against some other devices. But yeah that's pretty much it. If you're thinking
07:30about getting an S23 I would definitely do it. You get four years of major OS updates with this
07:35phone. So we just got the Android 14 one. So you got the updates left on this phone. You got
07:40security patches after that. You can keep this phone for quite a long time. You got the Galaxy
07:44AI. Great cameras, great speakers, great screen. I don't dislike anything about this device
07:49honestly. So let me know what you guys think.
